Probably talked about many times at this point, but it looks like car damage has really been toned down. One of my favorite aspects of GTA IV was the damage modeling, so too bad.

So just quick question, there's some cars I haven't seen make a return yet.

Are there SuperGT's?

Are there Stallions?

That's all I care about, and I haven't seen how garages work yet. :/

If I ever post something in Japanese which I don't understand, please BAN me.

Completely bullshit.

I don't know. I saw someone shooting without any wanted stars and there was an expanding ring round them on the map for each shot. It seemed to me like that was the sound from shooting that would attract the attention of a cop if they were in that ring. So I think if you have a suppressor it would help.
Would be cool.

Um...ok? I've seen head-on collisions a few times in streams and the fender texture is scratched, that's it. I've never noticed any massive polygonal deformation.

Note that i'm talking purely how the vehicles look, not handle after a crash.

edit: Been watching that fikey stream today over the last 20 min. Just saw a crash that was deformed, but I saw another that wasn't. So i'm probably wrong on this in practice, but I don't think it's working totally like GTA IV did.

We know, and it hasn't. The streams have shown far MORE damage than previous games.

Search the thread, plenty of gifs and pics that proof you wrong.

It's still there, it just takes a lot more abuse before it starts to show as much as it did in 4. Which I agree is lame. It seems that they don't want you ever to have to worry about flipping a car over or damaging a car to the point where it's no longer useful.

It's not very realistic how the cops can get out to the middle of the wilderness seconds after you kill someone.

Exactly. Nothing is exactly realistic in this game in regards to what you get away with either, but it would be nice to have that "under the radar" effect be able to take place. Go on a smartly planned killing spree and hear about your exploits on the radio. Do your best to stay Dexter like. Rampage in the middle of the city and of course they're gonna be on you. Fire off your entire arsenal in the desert and it should be hours before any cops arrive.

/my dream gta scenario.

Well I stand corrected then, thanks.

I don't live in here. I'm coming in to bring up a point I noticed and to have a discussion. No need to "bullshit" me out of the thread as if i'm spreading some kind of agenda.

And see the other guy who quoted me, and my edit. It doesn't work totally like it did in IV.

When Franklin is drinking, cars take less damage. Maybe that's why?

It's not toned down at all. Cars get bullet holes, scratches, fenders fall off, chassis bend and deform, it's quite impressive. The only thing that's changed is how long it takes to damage them, and sometimes they'll spontaneously explode during a particularly bad collision.

I can see why a lot of people are thinking car damage has been toned down, the damage really does seem very inconsistent sadly.

Does anybody know if you can still go in certain cars get side missions like the most wanted missions from GTA IV?

Edit: I just remembered that SA had ambulance missions.

Neat I must say, your story reminds me a bit of a modern RDR how that game had those random events that would happen to the side when traveling from one point on the map to another via horse or whatever.

Yeah, it fits into that category, I think. There's been a few of these random events so far. It's just the only one so far that didn't start with someone screaming for help. I think the coolest other one was where I was saving some guy who was getting his bike stolen (like the third one I'd saved). I returned his bike, and a few days later got an email. Turned out he was some millionaire CEO and wanted to return the favor by giving me $100k shares in his company. Score.
