HI!

thank you all for uploading these wonderful gifs, vids, streams, they help me hype down a bit since I won't be getting the game until well into October (Argentina sucks)

I'd like to know though, do you think there will be a difference in performance (FPS drops, draw distance, pop in, etc.) between the PS3 blu ray game disk version or the PSN downloadable one? since the latter is fully installed in the HDD.

Also, I have and old 40gb PS3 and I'm really scared that the demand GTA V requires will give me YLOD or crap out my console. I've never had any problems with it but this game really takes the machine to its limits.

thanks a lot!

ok, what in the hell is the guy in this stream doing?

I only have the audio on since I'm working but all I hear is this guy calling a cab to go to the airport. He's done it maybe a dozen times in the past 15 minutes. Call cab, die, call cab, die. I can't check it right now but I must be missing something funny or tragic.

Does anyone know how to make fast money?, There aren't enough missions to make the fast money, and the stock market is way to slow/lowprofit, can I like arrange my own heists?

Also is there a way to increase the increase amount when buying stocks, kinda annoying to press X 100 times to buy 100 stocks :(. would be nice to atleast jump atleast a minimum of 50.

32/69 missions done and I don't know if its possible :x

10 missions left in the story :(. What a ride so far. The story probably takes 25-30 hours to beat total.

How is the tone of the story? Its one thing to have fun and varied missions but I'm wondering about the quality of the story. Even with the the occasionally problems, I enjoyed how serious GTA 4 was and how there were repercussions to your actions. I hope thats still intact somewhat. Obviously it would be great to have a few good laughs and some wacky humor, I just hope its not all giggles when heists are the central theme of the game.

ugh, all the twitch streams are so much worse than the others we've been watching the last few days.

fucking webcams on every stream, or someone talking nonstop with their voice 3x louder than the game.

So apparently there is a secret message on the back of the map with the collectors edition.

Don't read if you don't want to know, and I don't even know what it means or what to do in game.

But it reads:
T.P.E - Trevor Philips Enterprises. Weaponry, narcotics, intimidation and casual wear.Lago Zan Cudo. Great ocean, highway north, through north chumash, 0.5 miles past Raton Canyon. <- when guard rail ends, follow the dirt road down the docks. Bring $500.000 cash. xxxxx

Tons of jaggies, screen tearing, I think it is around 18-25 fps when driving around, PS3 version. Dropped below 15 i think when I were driving my submarine on the surface.

Aw man. Identical to 360-version then. Playing on the older 60GB model with HDMI-output.
Framerate seems to vary depending on the time of day.
Drops like hell as soon as you dive under the surface, when driving fast in several areas (inner city ,outer city or sometimes in the desert.) Same thing when blowing things up. Make 1 car explode and it drops a lot.
Just standing still at for example Michael's house right at the drive way and looking at the city depending on the time of day triggers a low framerate.

I do on the other hand have the play disc installed too. Wonder if it affects the framerate?
Hope not. Damn Xbox makes too much noise as it is without the disc spinning.

I've yet to experience any tearing though.
Needs a detailed comparison between the two versions.

If you haven't already purchased it I can at least say this. It does indeed have a lot of slow downs on the 360, but don't let that stop you from getting the game. I'm very picky about low framerates since it affects my ability to aim a lot, but seeing as how amazing this game is in every other aspect it doesn't really matter. You start forgiving the low framerate rather quickly because of how incredible it looks and feels.

The only thing I really hate about it is the stupidly low sound volume the game offers. I have to turn up the volume about four times from what I usually play with to hear anything. Be it dialogue, background music or just ambience.

You can select to install one to the HDD and one to a USB drive?
Yup. Digital Foundry said that eliminates the issues they saw when both discs were installed to the HDD. Basically the game wants to read from two different locations for the best performance.

Just read the advice on Digital Foundry. Really nice difference looking at the videos. I wonder how the PS3 digital download behaves, or maybe transfer speed differences evens things out somewhat.

So yeah, considering everyone is so excited in that other thread for getting their hands on the game(which is understandable, the game is awesome), I can't get my question answered. So I might as well post it here too.

Has anyone figured out where those liquor stores you can supposedly rob are at? Or is there any in single player mode?! Thanks!!

Is there anyway to drive trains?

I wanted to drive along the coast but can't find any engines in the train yard, I tried jumping on one of the moving ones and died instantly.

I searched all around the moving train, and i couldn't seem to get in. I got rid of the driver but he just sat there......never found a door...or anything.

I could of sworn they said trains could be de-railed in this one...

Same here, you can jump onto a moving train, but at most you can stand on it. I too shot the driver but the freight trains seem to just be automatic and keep going, there's a door there, but it won't let you in. From some googling it seems there is a missing where you drive one, but outside of that it doesn't look like it.

Personally I'm really disappointed that we can't, I said in the other topic, but I hate it when they stick vehicles in the game that we can't use.

Just did a random event where
two guys were holding up a pharmacy and I was the getaway driver. One was talking about the crew he used to run with back in Liberty City, and it turns out it was Packie. Amazing.
