Valve confirmed to have a 3 minute press conference at E3 where Gaben holds up three fingers for all three minutes?

And they win for like the next three years from that lone event?

I'm more excited for L4D3 honestly...

No shit.

Only people who somehow convinced themselves Valve stopped making games or won't be making anything w\o microtransactions will be 'surprised'. Gabe himself confirming the game was being worked on didn't dissuade people from believing Valve aren't doing anything with it.

I still would like a 2016 release date.

As one of the angry motherfuckers who was pissed off at the quick release of L4D2 (and therefore, quick death of L4D1) - I feel they've "earned" the apology well, with masterpieces like Portal 2 and it's been at least what? 4 years? I could do with L4D3, probably more than HL3 TBH. I kind of have no faith it'll be any good.

Because people were asking how to find such stuff:

After the trademark thing I used the above search term and set the time parameter so that it only shows results from the last 7 days. With this I found the "Manage Filters" page where a link directed me to the user picker page.

Since it isn't up anymore, can anyone say if Doug Church or Clint Hocking were in any of the groups (Not just the HL ones) ?

I'm still not sure what's going on..this is some kind of joke right?

People are not really surprised that HL 3 is in development, this is some kind of meme in thread form, right?

Since it appears Left 4 Dead 3 will likely be released first, this will be Valve's showcase for Source 2.

I'm hoping Source 2 continues to maintain Source's strengths with regards to input lag as well as support for hardware 3D sound.

Can't say I know anything about hardware surround sound, but I do know Valve has been working a lot on input lag with regards to Linux and their controller. Would have to guess some of that knowledge flows back upstream to their engine architects?

I hope the game is announced soon
(lol?)
, so that I can have a good idea of the specs for my new rig. I want to be able to play HL3 with everything maxed out : it's probably the only game where I'd go to such lengths.

See you on the other side GAF.

Wow, source?

EDIT: Also that cameraman is crazy, I wouldn't get that close to a freight train doing a looping.

Don't know if you're serious but it's CG. It's a commercial for a Norwegian engineering company. Just search youtube for hydro train loop.

46 devs?

That is an order of magnitude too few.

A modern AAAA title needs at least 500 devs.

Development doesn't start with 500 devs... also doesn't end with it either...

Different people have different roles during different parts of development...

So maybe 2014 is actually going to be the year of the Linux Desktop with the Steam Machines and maybe even the third Valve sequel we've all been waiting for L4D3. Oh and HL3.

Nice, and as he leaves the stage 3 trailers play in succession. Left For Dead 3, Portal 3, Half Life 3.

It won't be a Steam OS exclusive, VALVe doesn't do exclusives anymore (unless they can't really do otherwise, like DOTA2). Actually, they never really did exclusives, not like other companies anyway.

Not even DOTA2 is exclusive in that sense. There's a linux client for DOTA2 too.

You'd think they have already learned after they patched this out of teamfortress.com. :/

I love GAF detectives.

No homo.
Puh, how glad I'm you said that. For a second there I thought you were... *scary eyes* Oo
:-/

Yeah, @topic we'll see. Since an official announcement probably won't come anytime soon, I don't really care.
