Battlefield 4: Beta Xbox 360 Gameplay Video

I played on my friends account last night and it looks terrible. But of course, it's the beta, the game isn't 100% finished yet and it was on a 360 which come Nov. 22 will be the ugliest version of BF4.

Is there a system in place for buying this on PS3 (digitally), and then upgrading cheaply to the PS4 version when it comes out?

What about with the disc version?

Well obviously it won't look as good as the XB1/PS4 version; shitting on it for not looking as good as the next gen version isn't really helpful. It looks good for a current system. I will be picking up BF4 on PS3 probably, and I haven't seen anything that would give me pause about playing that version.

Guys its a current gen console. Its unfair to compare it to the next-gen versions.

Sick of all the next-gen elitism around here.

Looks pretty respectable.

Feels odd to have direct feed of the current gen game while the PS4/Xbone version can only be seen on the shakiest of iPhone cameras. Come on, DICE.

My decision to not buy BF4 for current-gen has been validated by the fact that when I played the beta yesterday I was extremely distracted (and disgusted) by the terrible graphics quality. It's like it was waiting for the textures to load or something. Gross.

I was playing it yesterday and it DOES look like shit on X360.
1) Definitely worse native resolution than BF3 (less than 720p - I presume 5800-660p).
2) Textures and object pop up in 3-4 meters in fron of you.
3) Lots of texture streaming issues (standing in front of wall and waiting for 5s for it to load full size texture)
4) Balance issues (sniper rifle one hit killing only via headshot, elsewhere - 55 health).
5) BIG PROBLEM: totally changed controls for on foot and in vehicles. More COD like - knife on right stick, action on reload button hold (also get in / out of vehicles), grenade on LB, spotting and commorose on RB. And you can't get it back to normal BFBC2/BF3-like control scheme as they use BACK button now for Battlelog (which consists of your friends list and missions - clearly could be put somewhere in pause menu). Scores are being shown via holding START button.
Vehicles are now being operated via stick and you have to change the scheme to Veteran in order to get it back to something familiar. But it nevertheless would be different as spotting is default to RB - so firing in tank will be LB (counter measures are now used via D-PAD DOWN). HUGE FRUSTRATION with new control shemes.

Looks pretty good. Dice working some magic. If the 360 / PS3 versions can look this good, I have no doubt PS4 / XB1 versions are more than capable.

The whining in this thread is beyond ridiculous.

Guys, it's a PC (and next-gen) game running on dying current gen platforms. If anything, I'm surprised, heck even applause DICE, on getting it going as it does on X360/PS3.

Umm...it's a beta, dude. Not a demo.

Yes there is , only for digital though in NA I think. Something like $10.00 upgrade to next gen. Stats transfer and everything.

graphics wont change much, if at all. Maybe some graphical glitch fixes..

Reminded me of BF3 on consoles which was ugly as sin if you focused on any one spot for more than a second. It looks like it runs well but it's tough to tell in that trailer.

BF4 XBO
  • I played it on the business day of Igromir ("Game World" on English) in Moscow.
  • The resolution was definitely 720p, running mostly 60fps.
  • The game looks slightly better than Xbox 360 version of BF3 (I would say 50% better, no where near those videos of Paracel Storm gamescom build). Though textures are a lot better than on X360, some god rays, lots of foliage on the map.
  • It was a new build with Domination on Zavod 311. No vehicles. Though everything is unlocked.
  • For some strange reason player movement speed is VERY limited. It's like the sprint speed is somehow similar to the walking speed in BF3. I think it was this particular build fault. Cause on X360 the speed is ok.
  • The controller is SO SHITTY I couldn't even aim properly (and got 55 eagle in X360 version and 20th level in PS3 version). EDIT: added my small gamepads comparision.
  • The game ran on Xbox One debug kits. I saw one, it was black and I couldn't make any photo. There wasn't any local network mode, they used Windows server for the 26 machines.
  • The game supports kinect for voice commands, leaning with your head behind the corners and some other stuff. You can choose the language of voice commands.

If you have any questions - feel free to ask.

I made a video today of an insane input lag in an Xbox One beta of BF4:

If you want any more details (I played 4 consecutive matches on a new map Zavod 311) - I can share actually.
Oh god that would be unplayable for me, I hate input lag with a passion.o_O

On topic: Game is fun on 360, though graphically it's far from great but considering that they could get it on 360 is a great thing.
