In case people miss it:

According to the new post they sped up leveling in multiplayer:

"Leveling up is also quicker and easier, as we’ve fine-tuned the multiplayer experience to be better than ever."

Easy to miss detail. That should make the MP achievements slightly more manageable.

I was referring to everything.

Did they give people all the MP maps as well? I wonder if anyone's still playing it. lol

Yep

Do we think capcom will bother with anything outside of SF4 for removing gfwl? Like RE5 etc?

And have we heard anything from codemasters on removing GFWL from their games?

I wonder how widespread this is going to be across the Steam library. I've been itching to go back and replay Fallout 3 for some achievements and I wonder if this are going to go from Windows Live to Steam. Having the Securom and such removed for Batman and Bioshock are nice treats though. I've been meaning to jump back into both.

Glitch or soon to be added (Steam Clod saves)?!?!?!?!?!:

(this isn't present on every game screen in Big Picture mode).

There has been a Steam Cloud portion on the Steam Registry app for a long time, might not be implemented yet.

Dark Souls also has one that was never implemented.

Which I had picked up bioshock 2 before as it was practically given away but never did as I only wanted to play minervas den. Would have got it for free now :(

And I just so happened to take tomorrow and Monday off from work, might have to start up my Bioshock 2 comfy couch edition over my long weekend.

I know it sounds stupid but I had stopped playing Bioshock 2 because of the lack of controller support after finishing Infinite.

I can't believe we're getting something that good for free. This earns a pre-order for the next 2k game I want. I never pre-order stuff but I feel they deserve it.

Makes perfect sense if that is your favorite form of input.

I am a M/KB guy, but I can see the comfy couch gamers wanting in on the action!

Good guy 2K!

The fact that it didn't support controllers until now was stupid. Pressing home on a connected controller would even allow you to navigate the GFWL menu in-game, which I found hilarious.

There were so many ridiculous things about the port, where would you even get started?

All we need now is some Steam Trading cards!

Would craft badge to support a job well done!

So the Securom was confirmed to be removed? This is my favorite Bioshock game and if so I'll reinstall it, I never got to play the DLC.

I'm confused and I apologize if this has already been answered: So I had Bioshock 2 installed and it updated with this release. When I go to the store page I see the Minerva's Den DLC for purchase. I had previously purchased that through the Live marketplace. Do I need to rebuy it? From the sound of things here some people seem to have received it as part of the update. Maybe I need to delete local content and redownload the game?

Why would you get a refund?

Activate your copy on Steam and you get the DLC automatically.

You bought a product, and 2K is making it available to you.

i meant i bought this game 1 year ago , and then bought the DLC separately from GFWL marketplace

I don't see your point.

You purchased a product, 2K delivers that product, now with added Steamworks integration.

Well fuck.

I bought and played through all of Minervas Den like two months ago. With a shitty POV. AND I DIDN'T EVEN NOTICE.

*Hands in PC Master Race card*.

I wish you had seen my original thread on the matter!

POV is the only thing that REALLY REALLY bothers me. Low fps, I can deal with it, it sucks sometimes but at the end of day whatever. Screen tearing is the same. Shit resolution isn't that big of a deal for me most of the time.

But you have a narrow pov, and I start getting claustrophobic. Fuck that.

Just to be clear here:

Everyone who owned Bioshock 2 prior to today gets Minerva's Den with the Steamworks patch.

If you didn't previously own Bioshock 2, you have to buy Minerva's Den separately.

They're giving away the DLC to all previous owners because figuring out who bought the DLC prior would basically be impossible. You aren't getting a refund because nothing has been taken away from you. In fact, what you've bought has been preserved for the future.

Is anyone else getting the Securom errors that I screencap'd in my post above? I can't play the game. At all. :(

I thought Securom was supposed to be gone.

Try uninstalling completely(everything gone, even registry if you have too :p) then reinstalling.

Did you have the installed game prior? It could be residual from the GFWL version.

It sucks, but worst case scenario: uninstall and try reinstalling.

I think he feels cheated because he could have just bought normal Bioshock 2 and gotten it for free in the future.

Or something.

That's what I eventually concluded, too.

Originally I thought he may be upset that his GFWL version has been taken from him and that was a much funner prospect for me.
