Will developers properly support WiiU when the rest of the world moves to Xone/ps4?

That depends on Nintendo, they need to make the Wii U more attractive to develop for on the developer end and buy on the consumer end. Engines are scalable and the 360/PS3 are not going anywhere for a while so its safe to assume that the Wii U will remain fairly easy to port to. The question is what if there is no 360/PS3 SKU planned, will a developer bother to work on one for Wii U, which again will come down to Nintendo.

Once cross-gen dries up it's over.

The Wii U just isn't strong enough.

good thing cross gen aint gonna dry up for a long time the transition from the 6th to 7th gens was pretty damn brutal for publishers and developers, they aren't gonna abandon the huge userbases in such a hurry yet again

Nintendo will. And Sega. And Capcom for Monster Hunter. Maybe Ubisoft. Maybe Activision. Maybe Warner Bros.

Nope. Not a joke. Just a sad WiiU owner looking for optimism in the unlikeliest of places.
Okay, well, if it's serious. This is what your Wii U future looks like.

Scabby low rent ports of 360 games, then when everyone moves on to PS4/XBO/PC only, with game engines not even on Wii U, you get nothing.

Ubisoft have confirmed they are abandoning cross-gen by 2015.

Lol no. After next summer, the only games released on the Wii U will come from Nintendo, indies or be money-hatted.

Nope. Only third parties left by 2014 will be the ones getting the money hats (Basically just Sega).

And Capcom for Monster Hunter.

Why would you think this? Last one sold poorly and Capcom haven't given any indications they have interest in releasing any further Wii U titles.

What will happen is Nintendo will begin pairing up with 3rd parties to bring more 3rd party exclusives. But mostly Japanese 3rd parties. The Wii U will be the exclusive machine this gen. It won't be enough for most people, but it will be for me! : )

Also indies everywhere. (if they could just reach their damn Wii U stretch goals)

I'm not certain that third parties haven't completely burned their bridges with the Nintendo Audience. Even if passable levels of support did occur on Nintendo platforms, It's highly doubtful that the Nintendo Audience would go back to the developers that made a point to abandon them.

i've been begging for over 5 years.
Will be lucky to get shitty ports of 3rd party titles. Kinda like now but worse.

Most of the best upcomming games for x1/ps4 are the indie ones. And I don't see why they won't come out for WiiU.

... i expect they will move on to the cash cows considering they will sell more units.
WiiU may end up relegated to Nintendo and niche titles only.

So is Injustice GOTY coming to Wii U or not? It was rated, but not mentioned in their press release. And taken off the store website too.
I was mostly thinking Scribblenauts.

Well, Monster Hunter is doing very well on the 3DS so they probably have a strong relationship with Nintendo. If they can get enough support from them, I could see them release another Wii U entry in a few years. But that's only a maybe.

sold poorly???? it was a pretty much free money hd port

No, of course not. We already have major publishers pretty much only shitting out their games as obligation to Nintendo. Not even supporting them with proper DLC that's coming to other current-gen consoles.

PS3 and Vita will keep Wii U going for a little while but once PS4 and Xbox One games start selling gangbusters, the support will dry up fast.

They don't even properly support it now.

Exactly -- and this is before "the world moving to XB1 and PS4".

If the Wii U can't get basic Xbox 360 and PS3 ports then it's definitely going to be left in the dust once the Xbox One and PS4 become the main consoles.
