[Update: Confirmed for PS3/PC] Rumor - Enslaved: Odyssey to the West Releasing on PC

Awful game, really didn't enjoy it at all including the story, combat (due to the horrible button lag) and platforming. Even though I hated it it's still good to see it on PC. Hopefully it just continues to prove to publishers that PC is a worthwhile investment. It wouldn't surprise me if its Ninja Theory doing the port. It's UE3 isn't it ? Shouldn't be too hard at all to fix up for PC.

In regards to japanese games on PC I'm really looking forward to Deadly Premonition at the end of the month.

Yeah, not porting Dragon's Dogma in particular is such an incredibly odd choice. That game would sell gangbusters in Europe on PC.

A proper PC port of that game would be amazing. I remember getting it on PS3 and it was like permanently locked at 25fps with it dipping into the teens when you fought a huge monster with your AI guys shooting spells at it. I think it had those awful black bars crushing the image together too. It was a technical disaster.

Loved this game. Hopefully we get a good PC port.

This was actually a game where I just showed the cutscenes of it on Youtube to my sister (a non gamer) and she definitely enjoyed the story/characters.

Also, the fact that the
story doesn't end in a happy ending, the way it is quite ambigious in a what's right or what's wrong way
was so fucking refreshing. So yeah, definitely one of the most memorable games I've ever played.

If these three came out on PC the same day, it'd be better than Half Life 3's release, look into your heart... you know it to be true.

Vanquish and Red Dead Redemption have the most chance, and both would fit in perfectly on the platform.
Demon Souls, I highly doubt.

I would be surprised if Rockstar doesnt devote a team to an x86/x64 port of RDR for next-gen and PC.

I wonder why Namco decided to greenlight a port after all this time. A precursor for future ports maybe?

I'm sure it'll look great and run substantially better but nothing is going to fix the amazingly dull combat mechanics.

God I hope so. My one hope and dream is that RDR will eventually come to PC. The idea of RDR at 60 FPS is almost to much for me to bear....

Though getting Enslaved is a very close second. Easily one of the best games in the last decade!

RDR was overhyped and I didn't like Vanquish at all (free off PSN+)

haven't played Demon Souls yet. I would actually love if Sony started porting games to Steam! I kinda want Bad Company I and BF1943 on PC :/

Namco has found out that porting games to the PC can be quite lucrative. Then they discovered that releasing GE's without DRM has an even higher profit potential.

My guess is they are looking for games that are easy to port over. Once the game is available on the platform, it is capable of generating income for decades.

Top 5 this gen:

1. Skyrim

Still has the best in game acting I've ever seen. Those facial expressions...they're super good. The combat isn't great and it does get a little collectathony, but it's still an experience worth having. If they release it for 20 bones, everyone should dive in.

I still like equating this game to a stage play. There's really only 3 characters, the rest of the world seem more like a silent narrative through a fantasy land, what few other characters exist mostly do so through off screen narration or silhouetted pantomime, it's a really fun short story.

Great way to describe the game. I actually loved it. I know that some won't like the actual game play mechanics. They are not the greatest, but definitely serviceable. I kept playing because I wanted to see what happened.

What the hell? Three pages of this jibba-jabba and no mention of the lush OST by Nitin Sawhney?

GAF pls.

Gross

You think that is gross you are really gonna dislike this. I love Skyrim and think it is a far better game than Morrowind could ever hope to be.

I'm betting on this happening. If you're going into Enslaved expecting even remotely good gameplay, you're not going to have fun.

I did not mention anything about Morrowind.

Do not wish to detail the thread completely, but Skyrim isn't a good game. It has an, almost, unparralled open world aspect, which is what elevates the game, but as a game, it is very mediocre.

Feel free to put it into your personal top 5, you are free to do so. In any objective list, Skyrim won't be close to the top 5.

Well this has all made sense for a while but part of me wants to believe that there's more to this and that it hasn't taken Namco this long to realize the potential. The other part of me knows it's just Japanese publishers/developers being late to the party again.

The gameplay seemed pretty decent from the video I watched. Nothing too deep, but seemed like fun.

what focus

I know they aren't abandoning Windows, but Gabe's been pretty open about not liking the direction it seems to be headed. The only way Linux could possibly become a viable threat for gaming would be if a company like Valve throws its weight behind it, and that's actually happening.

I'd love to see you try to actually detail this. It would be hilarious. I imagine it would be similar to watching someone try to prove that the Devil created dinosaur fossils to fool us all.

I bought this a few years ago for 5 dollars and played a couple of hours. I just couldn't get into it. The combat wasn't fun at all from what I remember.

Children, don't fight. They are both terrible.

The visuals were never the problem with this game and that's the only thing a pc version is going to bring to the table.

Trip was gorgeous. This game has the most beautiful environment to look at. They have great artists. The delay between the button and the action is very obvious. But I liked it a lot.

What is there to detail? It's a better game through and through. My first Elder Scrolls game was Oblivion. I played and loved that game, then played and loved Skyrim. I went back and played Morrowind and found it to be mediocre at best.

See you can't do it. It's ok it was a trick comment anyway, it's actually impossible to pull off.

My first ES game was Oblivion too and as amazing as I thought it was when I played it I knew it was a joke when I eventually played Morrowind. Skyrim had no chance of competing with either one once I realized just how little meaningful content it had. It's a true modern streamlined game that's for sure.

I wouldn't call the combat bad, it's serviceable at best. My issue is that I found it to be so dull and underwhelming, I couldn't recommend it to anyone unless they had absolutely nothing else to play. The story did nothing for me either and I'd argue that how it pans out and wraps up is down to lazy writing, especially the ending. I found the most striking thing in the game to be the VA performances of the main characters and the actual animation of the characters during cutscenes, it's very much a "cinematic experience". That's not necessarily a bad thing but I just don't think it was interesting enough in the case of enslaved.

Since there aren't many recent action titles on PC it might be worth picking up if you're starved for the genre.

I will never understand the love people have for Morrowind.

The best Elder Scrolls game is your first Elder Scrolls game.

They're all super janky and cheesy and break constantly and the combat has never been great and each have their own silly design decisions, but their worlds awe and inspire players. After that first experience of being completely awestruck by an Elder Scrolls game, the feeling isn't as strong when you go and play the next one, which makes all of their flaws more readily apparent.

I haven't played Morrowind though so I'm a dirty liar and the above holds no value whatsoever to anybody.
