As long as you just download and don't start it up, and they don't make you redownload the whole damn game, it could be worth starting the 17 GB download now.

91mb and it's removed again. I hope they got rid it of totally now. If you don't see it restart steam.

They never even touched the Vanilla versions on the registry throughout the update process. Looks like they planned to leave those behind.
Look in your library GOTY has been added next to vanilla.

So I can enable arkham asylum on steam with it's cd key now? awesome.

They are having problems in a lot of areas with this change over.
Activation is still one of them. Its worth a try, but many people are having trouble.

GFWL could kill AA for me at startup. 1fps type of stuff. Only solution was a reboot, then it would be fine. Until the next time....

Someone should ask MS themselves if they can bring Viva Pinata to steam and yank out GFWL. I want to play that on PC again but my $1 copy is stuck on GFWL.
Securom requires a certain key location in the Windows Registry. I will confirm later tonight when I get back from class.
The Bioshock 2 press release didn't mention Securom either, but did not install Securom.
I would take Viva Pinata as well, I just doubt that Microsoft will see the value in that.

You can't even buy the DLC on Steam. Probably why you get GoTY for free. Still cool. Has the Capsule key you get on GMG a whiles back been confirmed to work? I know the system isn't in place yet, but will it work once it does?
As sated in the OP, they seem to be having huge problems with the redemption implementation. Stay patient.

unless i had to restart steam and then play AA, the achievements are not unlocking just yet. the first is to take down szazs, and it didn't unlock here D:

Awesome news now i can replay both again (Asylum for the 60th ? time - it's my most played game since GTA: Vice City and Arkham City for the fifth).

I just got the GOTY editions for free. I've come close, several times, to buying 'em, then going "eh, I can wait."
Gotta catch em all.
Since I bought regular versions of both Batman games and was really disappointed when the GOTYs were available for like 14 dollars before I actually played any of them, I decided to not buy the next batman and wait for the GOTY.
Now I have both regular and goty versions of both batman games, but that won't be the case for the next batman game. My collection is RUINED!
Still gotta keep waiting to play them I guess (Arkham City namely, Arkham Asylum I beat on PS3 then later rebought via PSN sale), but at least now it's a matter of weeks at worst rather than months.

They may just go back to regular DLC releases rather than GOTY editions.
It seems GFWL doesn't play well with DLC purchased through other clients. That is why you commonly see GOTY editions.
AC achievements should work fine. Another patch was issued to fix the GFWL/Securom rollback.
I still can see my AC GFWL key, but I can't see my AA key anymore: There's no CD Key option on the game page in detailed view. (Talking about regular versions here).
Not that it matters, but I was wondering if we could use those keys to, somehow, redeem the copy of the game on another Steam account. They are GFWL keys afterall, and probably they're assigned to my Steam account, as I bought these games on Steam.
