There's assholes anywhere. One console doesn't attract more than the other. What's funny is I've met great gaming friends over XBL, and of course, have met bad people not working for the team, but far more positive experiences.

Jeff's preference this gen was 360, he does not hide it but at the same time I trust him when it comes to stuff like this.

But if MS still has not given clearance to publishers to release Xbone footage, then all I can say is get off your fuck'en ass MS and give them clearance already.

I know it's just speculation on Jeff's part, but it doesn't make any sense. Why would Microsoft not give clearance this late? It's free advertising.

Even if Gerstmann is right, it still begs the question "Why?"

Frankly, there's a lack of media out of the PS4 SKUs as well. But the dearth of XB1 media is even more pronounced. Both of these boxes come out in like a month.

(Random aside: But was Gerstmann the one who was saying prior to the reveals something about publishers picking sides, that $399 was decided at E3, as well as the "Sony too" line regarding DRM?)

Speaking of Jeff, I remember his statement on Bonus Round during GDC regarding third party "choosing sides" that are happening for "reasons I don't necessarily agree with".

There are marketing deals for these games. It's telling that CoD is show on PS4 and AC is not shown on XB1.

Exactly, XBL only seemed to have more pricks due to Xbox coming with a headset, and when PS4 is released it will be the same. But so what? Are people forgetting there is a mute button? But coming with a headset is definitely a good thing, for me it means I have a way to do voice chat with some of my more casual friends who would never buy a bluetooth headset.

Publishers have always been picking sides. Middle-aged white men down the country club trying to justify their bloated salaries by setting up deals with each other.

Think about even Microsoft's exclusives, there's little to no direct feed footage besides trailers.

Ryse, Forza, Dead Rising 3, etc.

Jeff's reasoning sounds accurate. I agree it's dumb on MS's part but he probably is right.

Whether they planned to, or not, I'm struggling to think of many 3rd party games that are being shown on Xbox One. While the footage we have seen has been short, or off screen.

Microsoft were SO late to the 2013 party they never got an invite, yes there Hardware is weaker than the PS4 but all these issues now and version not shown are to do with the Poor Level the development environment is in compared to PS4.

Yes they both need work to get upto level, the lack of versions smacks of that..Infact I bet DR3 and Ryse have had considerable money and "resource" direct from MS to hit launch.

I expect the same as I did with the last gen launched we would get Patch work quilted games and we did. At launch I expect a Host of Patches for ALL games from both within days if not Day of release.

Well don't games have to go gold now anyways?

Killzone was given the longest from Sony 1P offerings so I imagine COD has already gone gold. If so wouldn't that mean the PS4 version has to look noticeably better than the XB1 version as the XB1 has to be already finished by this point?

Lol and it turned out completely opposite, most third parties are shown on ps4 for some reason. I don't think it's money hats, sony doesn't have the money.

Thanks. I don't know if it's new to the series to have bots, last one I played online was MW2, and I don't think it had them, but it's always a cool addition to see, help people transition more smoothly.

Cool. I didn't want to jump to conclusions about it not being round without clearing that up first. But yeah, game looks bad. The only difference from current gen is the resolution and textures. They don't even have good AA. The comparisons between this and Shadow Fall's MP, which is also 1080p/60, are going to be fun. So far this game takes the cross geniest cross gen game crown.

Watching this after the Killzone Shadowfall trailer only intensifed my indiference towards this game. This might be the first COD I skip.

Normally since the Activision/MS partnership all marketing footage up to and after a COD release has been shown on the Xbox (PS3 preview builds were still shown to the media, but not in direct feed marketing vids).

It's not strange, X1 was obviously planned for a spring 2014 release and everybody is still in full crunch mode to get the games out in time for launch. The PS4 versions are further ahead in development and thus are the ones shown.
