If you're seriously going to ditch a console just because of a small performance difference and take glee in it, I can't see you being much of a fan / gamer. Seriously.
The posts in this thread just utterly cracking the shits over a single LAUNCH games performance is madness. As a big PS3 fan we had to deal with a lot of fucking berating assholes giving "our console" shit for years on end but in the long run? Most of the games were much the same with a small handful of exceptions.
You people, all you people should base your decisions on EXCLUSIVE games, you should base it on the OS / functionality, usability, features - not just the resolution of one particular multiplatform game.
I can't believe I of all people am defending Microsoft here but seriously ..... what the hell are you Xbox fans or simply just COD fans or something? There's more to an entire console platform than one game.

Shouldn't be. Forza and Halo are both incredible. I'm still planning on jumping in at Horizon 2 or Halo 5.
It wouldnt be a single game. Its also a matter of which console will provide the best experience with all the various multiplatform titles out there. When it comes to resolution and performance, that seems to be the PS4.
Since most games are multiplatform, that could be where you put the lion share of your time. And with both consoles charging for multiplayer it's more expensive than ever to have both consoles.

This is just extra confirmation from the NSA fiasco to the non gamer centric focus, to a higher pricetage, and the Kinect garbage. MS completely lost me as a gamer for more reasons than one. Thanks

Now sit two feet back 2 or 3 feet back. It's very hard to tell the difference! Not defending the xbox 1 here, I just think a lot of people are giving too much importance to 1080p vs 720p on a tv. Does 1080p look better than 720p, of course it does. Does it make a huge difference to the majority of gamers? no
Is Xbox 1 fucked? yes! I think the power disparity is going to show in more important ways, ie Framerate, and Effects.
3 feet away from my 13" laptop I can't see the difference, but 720p 6 feet away from my 47" LED TV, it looks like garbage.

Indeed the fact that he decided to reply is a positive thing.
But basically he said that:
1)He's not allowed to disclose technical details about third party games. It's up to the publishers. Fair enough, it's reasonable.
2) He started to spin the whole thing with PR comments in disguise like: "resolution will be what it will be", "it looks great anyway", "I couldn't tell the difference anyway even if I wanted to, I'm not a pixel counter".
Those comments are not a good sign....the only one missing is "our scaler will make it look as good as native 1080p".
Still people we'll be able to see the truth soon enough for themselves although I honestly don't think that 720p is a tragedy for a launch title nor it is representative of what the Xbox One hardware can do in the long run. If PS4 can do 1080p in the same situation it's because it has a more powerful GPU, but that should be pretty much a given and accepted at this point.
But this thread doesn't deserve so many pages, people are reacting as if the game was delayed just on Xbox One for specific technical issues and it's not the case.

Exactly this isn't even about COD it's about confidence in the XBOne on a whole why the hell are consumers going to go out and drop $500 on a new system that is performing at the same level as it's predecessor on a cross gen multiplat no less. There is far more going on that is bad about the Xbone then just a resolution. You know this.
Well ok yes those are more some viable reasons - pricetag I think is a reasonable argument (although it's really not that much more money if you're truly into the platform exclusives)
To me it's ALL about the exclusives, that's why I love the ever loving shit out of my PS3, it's fucking beautiful. It still blowss me the fuck away when people say the PS3 has no games of interest but ... well different strokes for different folks.
I'm sure that Gears, Forza, Fable, Halo and... well whatever else MS has that MS fans love will continue to evolve on the Xbox One. Sooner or later there will be a killer game for the system for those guys. (Personally I think Fable went to shit sadly, Gears is awful, Halo is the most over rated game series in all of history - but Forza,... god I miss Forza)

I do know this - but people blowing tiny things out like it's "that one thing!" is crap. It's like NONE of you guys went through this shit 8 years ago for the PS3 and Xbox 360. In 18 months time things will settle, it'll be ALL about the games - not the dopey fucking resolution. People focus on such silly stuff at launch.

We're just exiting a generation where any game running any resolution below 720p gets criticized. I don't want to hear how dropping from 1080p to 720p is suddenly barely noticeable while a drop from 720p to, say, 640p results in a huge, muddy, blurry disaster.
