is so, its a worthless list tbh, I'd rather have them measured based on what is available at launch, and what is close enough to know concrete details about (eg 1H2014)

I would like to know this too. I don't know what was going on in the uk over the last few years, but in mainland europe PS3 was always one step ahead when it came to media services compared to 360.
Or is Edge reffering to the us market in general these days.

I think we won't see a proper comparison between controllers until either Drive Club and/or GT release.

I've been reading/hearing great things about the controller and the rumble feature when playing Forza ("you can feel the road"). Haven't felt it for myself but a fair number of people have commented that it makes Forza feel better than ever.

(These "feels" are going to be subjective")..

And dedicated servers trumps streaming old games/demos ANY day of the week imo.

If Gaikai counts as cloud tech ( stream ps3 games, demo of next gen games like SONY said) then it really isn't a surprise.

Controller is a surprise since there seems to be more negative views on the XBOX controller over the ps4 controller.

They're likely ranking the controllers based on tech, not personal feel.

The rumble triggers in the XB1 controller will likely add depth to games easier than the touch pad on the DS4.

They did a hardware buyer's guide at least once before. And they probably will do, see the who dares wins cover. Overall I've been a bit disappointed with Edge lately, I hope it is back to usual programming after this 20th anniversary and console launch. Tired of lists and poorly written reviews.

There have been review events on the consoles, and yes, some outlets have them, and certainly they've had access to them. Moreover, it's Edge's job to provide consumer advice, maybe it's not as complete as they'd like, but if their audience wants 'their best bet', before the launch, I think this is a reasonable thing to do personally. I don't think it's just to shit stir gaming forums.

Ultimately, everyone else has been making these comparisons personal when picking their system of choice, I don't see why Edge should be above it.

Perhaps they're basing it entirely on the fact when MS first showed their console it was all about TV. But just because Sony decided to focus on games, doesn't mean they don't have similar offerings. I fail to see how this can be judged before the consoles have released.

Those servers are not open to developers unless they are willing to pay for them...Hell, Sony's own IP (Killzone) doesn't use dedicated servers.

Gaikai is way more interesting to me than providing cloud space for devs. I'm not a developer. So I kinda agree with Edge. I'll just be interested to see how good Gaikai actually is.
