Prope (Yuji Naka) Hiring for "small scale" PS4/XB1 Action Game

Obviously Naka is famous for being co-creator (with that Blinx dude) of Sonic. But didn't Prope do that box-tapping gaming for Wii?

Says they're looking for planners, programmers, network engineers, 2d artists and effects designers with an interest in ps4/xbox one development, with experience in Social games and SNS games, so keep your expectations in check.

Not the same projects though. They're urgently hiring for a number of different things. They want directors, planners, and server engineers with social gaming experience, but they're also specifically looking for planners and programmers who want to join their next generation console project.

Edit: Yuji Naka's tweet confirms that it's a "small scale" next-generation game (probably digital download?), and he's asking for those with experience to join him to make an action game together.

interesting, even if it's small scale, expectations slightly raised :D

Yep (Let's Tap) and Prope also made Fishing Resort, probably the most enjoyable fishing game ever made.
Yeah, I'd be up for a sequel to either. If they port Ivy the Kiwi again, that'll be good too.

My brain somehow mashed the title into "PS1 action game" - which, for a brief moment, I found strangely exciting.

Anyway, the last I heard of Yuji was that Kiwi game he made, not sure how well that came out. Good to see he's still in the industry.

While I'm always keeping an eye out for anything that Naka san does, I really wish he would follow in Inafune's footsteps and use his freedom to create a classic Sonic style platformer by means of a Kickstarter campaign.

I mean, why not? People have been clamoring for a good 2D style Sonic game since the Genesis days, especially after the lacklustre Sonic 4. Maybe the best thing to wish for at this point is for Naka to create a new 2D platform game inspired by these old games.

Then again, maybe he doesn't want to go this route himself. If only this industry made more use of investigative journalists who could ask him such things...heck, after Inafune's success, I would have hoped for plenty of interviews with other prominent Japanese developers about Kickstarter, but alas...

Good for him that Prope has the resources for next gen dev kits though. This means he must be doing some things right (in Japan) at least.

It seems quite clear that Kadokawa was probably forced to pay Prope for delivering the game even though Kadokawa never released it. I mean, you don't just eat a loss on something that far along, not in Prope's case.

how did Let's Tap turn out, anyway? i wanna believe Naka has some greatness left in him, unlike that fart-in-the-wind miyamoto

I cling to the hope of an eventual Wii U port on eshop
