why would he call it the Marshall Mathers LP 2

why

it's obviously not going to be that and everyone knows it

I'm more of a fan of comedic Eminem so for me he's not really my cup of tea anymore.
Exactly.

I loved his stuff when he was funny and all nonchalant about stuff. Now it's all this self-obsessed "woe is me, my daughter hates me, the industry wronged me, wah wah wah" bullshit.

And that's not even mentioning his rapidly waning skills as both a rapper and a lyricist. His flow and delivery is laboured where it was once tight and self-assured, his angry whining voice on every single track irritates and his lyrics are clumsy and awkward instead of clever and cutting.

He really was one of the greatest rappers on the planet at one point. Oh well, I'm sure he can dry his tears on all his mad stacks.

I'm going to have to find some private work this coming month, or I'm not going to be able to afford a PS4. Which I don't NEED...but I REALLY want one.

Anyone need their PC looking at?

I would have said yes until a week ago. Desktop went fubar, and after evn buying a new PSU it turned out to be the memory. Thankfully the PSU was from Amazon, so I only lost £4 returning it!

You gotta get a PS4 though, I love launch days, reading impressions and hearing stories about how some guy kicked off because the store had no units left! What games will get buy on day 1?

Ah, it's good to be back at work. Honeymoon over, regular life back on again.

...wait, did I say 'good'?

Not entirely sure that's what I meant.

I'm inclined to agree. I fucking love 'Rap God' though, that's been giving my sub a good workout for the last couple of weeks.

Rubbish King

The gift that keeps on giving
So my last few weeks or so have been somewhat mental and now Charlie has left and work almost feels like limbo, the company is making big changes and whilst none of them affect me, it will affect people around me

Did he get chucked by the girlfriend too? Think I'd make sure I was out of the way of the fallout from that potential double whammy.
Yeah, triple when you count he lost his job, girlfriend and place of residence

Ultimately I just felt bad for him, I wanted to rub it in but when he came up the stairs that feeling vanished, he just didn't understand how it had gotten to this, we sat and talked for 2 hours about what he is going to do from here as he has blown all his savings by living so lavishly and spending it all on his now ex-gf (lol)

Not only does he have to pay the rent he owes (200) without assistance from the housing benefit people, he also has to pay for his course because although it is government funded, if you waste the opportunity you are given in their eyes you haven taken somebody else's opportunity

I think the funniest thing is that when I went to work yesterday his ex was behind the bar and didn't seem to give a fuck and after I started and she came back after her dinner I quizzed her about it and I asked here "You don't to phased about this? Losing your boyfriend and then seeing him lose his job and home?"

"Meh, I know it's bad and that, but it's got nowt to do with me really, it's his problems not mine"

lol poor charlie balling his eyes out over the girl who put him in this position and she doesn't give ANY fucks, she's already dating again and doesn't care at all that the guy she's been with for almost 5 months has lost everything, he is still unsure of how he will live without her...

She's blocked his number and him on facebook and moved on in an instant

Somehow she has a job still but I don't think she'll last long
You should have set up some kinda secret filming device so you can relive the tears and recriminations.
I couldn't even get pleasure out of it due to him being so clueless and pathetic, he is just so young yet we're the same age

Now the floodgates have opened I wonder who else will go..

Damn my terrible timing!

Well I'm PS+, so I'll have Resogun and Contrast at launch. I'm thinking of picking up Assassin's Creed and either Battlefield or Killzone.

I'll definitely be downloading War Thunder too, as I've had a lot of fun with that on PC

Kind of a bummer not to have a racing game at launch anymore.

When do we get to see the wedding pictures?

So when in Brighton I saw more of my favourite weird trend, apps becoming dubious arcade games, and tried to think of what apps would make "bad but good" arcade machines. Came up with Snapchat.

So I'm working on a Snapchat inspired photobooth thing. Takes your photo, it'll show it to the next person who uses it for 5 seconds, then it's on to their turn to take a photo.

I'd rather do a double shift at work then see radiohead live.

Good to see you back in these parts David. I trust the honeymoon was wicked, and married life is simply splendid.

Only reason I'd ever buy a Radiohead ticket is to sell it on at an extortiate price and hysterically laugh at the idiot who paid for it.

EDIT: I don't even need a flame suit.

Cheers chap! It's nice to be able to get ma browse on again. I was lurking on honeymoon though, tee hee.

I still haven't had the photos or vids back yet. Missus permitting, I'll post a few when I get 'em.

Good to be back, my man. Everything is fucking great at the moment. Wedding was great, honeymoon was great, had the 20 week scan yesterday and Little Miss Smoky is developing like a boss. Off to view a sexy new house on Wednesday, so it really is all go in SmokyVille!

The only cloud on my horizon is my lack of a pre-order for a PS4. I foresee many nights camping outside shops in my future.

Digging Zombie Hayley, whoever 'shopped that did a corking job.

You're so weak! Look at all those AMAZING launch titles, I bet you can't wait to play them they're so exciting. Look at dem next gen graphics!

Also, you will never be able to do NaNo with a new console scratching away at your psyche...

Didn't realize you weren't a fan! I'd work a 12-hour-day 7-day week to see Radiohead live again. Then again, I'd do double that to see Sigur Rós again.

...then again, I'd do double THAT to see Idlewild, if they promised to play all of The Remote Part and maybe a bit of 100 Broken Windows.

So when in Brighton I saw more of my favourite weird trend, apps becoming dubious arcade games, and tried to think of what apps would make "bad but good" arcade machines. Came up with Snapchat.

It's not about the games yet (there are a few good ones, but loads on the horizon), it's about the exciting new system - I'm a tech nerd, I love this shit. There's a reason I've had 10 (that I can remember) Android devices already. I WANT DAT NEW TECH.

It's taken all my strength not to put a pre-order in for an XB1 & get a job working nights so I can afford both.

Plus NaNo won't be a problem - PS4 comes here on the 29th, so I'll be done by then anyway </confidence>

Yeah it is, from the looks of things it was no where near ready for launch day!
If I was getting one, I'd be thinking Killzone, Knack, and then BF4 in the new year.

As it stands I'll grab BF4 on the PC when the deluxe edition is released.

I am disappointed in you man. You seemed so reasonable and realistic about it the other day as well! What use is tech if there's nothing compelling to play on it yet? Do any other those launch games (shit, even anything announced for the first year) really give you actual ball-tingling exciting feelings? The promise of new tech sure is neat but until it actually does anything worth the money, what's the point?

heh, I'm probably just subconsciously projecting my jealousy onto you :p but I doubt it - so far absolutely nothing next gen is exciting me.

Apart from that Atoms for Peace track that I told you about (which doesn't count as a radiohead track anyway), I never liked Radiohead. Far too dull and the nauseating praise towards Thom Yorke and that band doesn't help whatsoever. "Oh! Radiohead! Radiohead! Thom Yorke is a genius! OK Computer/Kid A/Hail to the Thief/In Raindows is a masterpiece" Put a sock in it jeez! Not even Beatles fans are this annoying.

Fucking high 5. I'm in exactly the same boat. I'd happily buy a PS4 a couple of weeks before any games are available, just to fuck around with it.

As it stands, there is more I want to play at launch than I actually have time to play so the lineup is a fucking winner as far as I'm concerned.

The games aren't tingling my balls, but the hardware, the OS and the controller all are.
Getting to play Assassin's Creed IV on PS4 will be a blast because I'll be excited about the console, if I play it on PC...well...I probably won't even bother to be honest.

Late to the party, I don't care, but I feel fucking sorry for Charlie.

Yeah, sucks that the guy lost his job & his girlfriend, but if he'd been more responsible, if he'd listened to the people around him and he hadn't been shitty to both of them, he'd be fine at this point.

Like you say, I feel bad for the guy - It's never good when bad things happen to people. Hopefully he takes a lot of lessons from this & grows as a person so he can approach his next job (& next relationship) with a bit more maturity and responsibility.

I am incredibly guilty of this :(
I usually output it in big Radiohead circlejerks though, so at least I'm not pushing it onto people who don't care?

My balls are tingling just thinking about unboxing one and plugging it in. That first boot up feeling.

Exactly my feels.
Though I'm tempted to just spend the £350 buying copies of Tearaway and stuffing them down Nintendo fans' throats, actually. Maybe I am a bit salty?

Have you heard any of his solo stuff Shorty?

Thom Yorke - The Eraser

Thom Yorke - Black Swan

Thom Yorke - Harrowdown Hill

Harrowdown Hill is sombre as fuck, but glorious. Black Swan and The Eraser are comparatively upbeat. Very decent record all told, even if some of it is a little meandering and lacking in hooks.

Maturity, bitches.
You must've adored "Encore".
Last album I got of his. Gave it a listen and just din't feel it. I think it was a mix of being older, slightly tiring of him and most of his comedy songs not being that great, to the point of being almost offensively bad. Even Just Lose It felt like WIthout Me Pt 2.

I'm so about new tech I've been replaying Twilight Princess again a ha ha ha.

Totally agree with that response, too - each to their own, obviously, but I can't think of a track on The Bends that could be called dull, even if you're not a fan of their more sombre stuff.

Then there's tracks like Paranoid Android, Bodysnatchers, Where I End and You Begin, Electioneering, 2+2=5, There There...

I sometimes think people don't give Radiohead a chance because they're expecting them to be this pretentious bullshit band. But then as a huge fan I would think that.

For the first time ever I've applied for a job at Microsoft, but in my excitement I've managed not to attach my CV but rather a PDF of William Gibson - Neuromancer instead.

I'm kind of hopeful this will work in my favour, but I'm doubtful.

Vita remote play is day 1 too right? So as soon as you track down a PS4 unit, you can play it even on the golden throne!
I think I'm going to grab a Vita once they launch the 2000 model over here, the raft of little improvements plus the slow but steady trickle of games are making finally making it an attractive prospect. Add in remote play....oh my days.

I'm pretty set on a blue or black 3DS XL. Black is my obvious preference, but I could nab the blue model for less, which is always nice.

Two of their best and most rocking tracks, particularly Electioneering. That intro is so evocative, like a Wild West gun duel or something. You can almost feel the dust kicking up, two hombres squaring up to each other, eyes squinting in the sunlight, fingers hovering over their holsters. Then boom, that amazing riff explodes out the speakers and it all kicks off! The Greenwood freak out at the end is just delicious too.

I go between Electioneering and Weird Fishes as my favourite track:

Radiohead - Weird Fishes/Arpeggi

I love how the layered melodies sound like waves ebbing and flowing back and forth against each other. It's absolutely gorgeous.

You can come around and fuck my sister, sir... if I had a sister, that is. The end of Electioneering sounds like elephants stampeding. You can't genuinely say that about much music.

Nobody truly deserves to go through such a horrible time, especially if their actions weren't entirely intentional. I'm sure Charlie could've done better had he applied himself, sure, but he didn't deserve to lose his job, his girlfriend and his accommodation in one go. I mean, talk about kicking a man when he's down.

Yup, day 1, I believe. Can't wait to pair 'em up and give it a go.

Grabbing a Vita is a good idea, but you'll need to brace yourself for the 'champagne and supermodels' lifestyle that comes with it.

Normally I hate colours that aren't black for electronics. That said, my XL is blue and I really like the look of it. It's a good blue.

Absolutely no sympathy for Tashbrooke's Charlie. We only saw his life through the tiny window Tash opened for us, but even based on just that, he totally deserved what happened to him. You reap what you sow, and for some people that means losing nearly everything before they realize they need to change their ways. Anything less and he likely would have taken it for granted all over again and gone back to his old ways. And what has he lost really? The place to stay and pub job were helpful but not exactly once in a lifetime opportunities. And the girlfriend apparently never truly cared about him at all seeing how quick she's moved on, or at least was turned away so much from his behavior that she doesn't care about all his losses. We've all screwed up and pissed away opportunities, hopefully the Navy or whatever he does gives him a fresh start.

Didn't feel anything with The Eraser and Black Swan. 4 minutes pass by and I'm wondering when will this get interesting. Just seemed hallow.

Harrowdown Hill, on the other hand, had this candle ambient chill feel to it. no OTT guitar but a little to compliment the song, bit of piano. abrupt ending. Thought that one was the most interesting track out of the three.

I won't argue with Shorty for the same reason I won't take the piss out of Pokemon fans ITT. There is no convincing somebody who is that terribly wrong.

There's also no point convincing somebody who won't even consider changing their stance/mind too ;) Suppose I'm missing out on something that's supposedly special but hey! The world would sure be boring if everyone liked the same stuff and I'm very happy with my musical choices.
