What is Tsutaya?
Tsutaya is a major retailer with 1,444 retail stores (613 that sell new games) all across Japan.

What is Comgnet?
Comgnet is the website for the retailer "COMG!" that has 16 retail stores across one prefecture in Japan.

Why post these rankings?
They are released three days before Media Create + Famitsu + Dengeki give us nationwide sales, so we get a general indication of how well the games will perform relative to their competition.

How accurate is Tsutaya compared to nationwide retail tracking services?
It's large enough that it gives a very probable indication of future sales rankings, but it's not large enough to be definitive.

Famitsu: ~3,600 stores
Media Create + Dengeki: >3,000 stores
Tsutaya: 613 stores
Comgnet: 16 stores

Strange, you'd think it was the other way around. But yeah, no surprise that Sonic Lost World didn't do too hot on both consoles.

And even i am moderately surprised
I was going to pick up Sonic for the WiiU just on a whim but it's hard to pick up when it's 6400 yen+ in stores - it'd have thrown it a bone at 4800 but not at 6400.

yeah. i thought the same thing. i played the demo, enjoyed, but not enough to pay 6500¥. I will wait for a bomba drop. I think i will buy Ninja gaiden 3 for the mean time... lol

Also, it looks like party bombed on the uk. Im not surprised since uk hasnt been the best market for the wiiu, but it doesnt mean good news for Nintendo, since europe was a big reason for the sucess of the first wii party. Now, it all rest on the shoulders ot Japan. I think it will be a relative sucess there, maybe even selling more than nintendoland in the long run, but i dont know if it has the power to move systems and making fit and sports download only doesnt help it either...

First time I try this which is kinda why I was so late.

WiiU felt hard to predict because I feel so strongly that WiiPU will flop terribly, but at the same time the biggest WiiU game ever is launching soon and it's got some decent bundles. The numbers feel low and high at the same time.
Regarding BF4 and CoD I assumed a little growth, but I'm not sure how these games being very next gen focused will affect sales, but could be the NeoGAF bubble.
God Eater sales feel a bit too high, but the Vita has gotten a slight spark lately which could last.
FFXIII (3) numbers chosen because they were round and seemed right... I don't think the decline will continue, but what do I know. Kinda the same with One Piece only an increase. Googled manga sales and saw it doing well and thought it felt right with a port selling 77k.
Regarding 3D world I kinda gambleled again that the WiiU would do poorly. It could be everyone and their dog has waited for this game in Japan, but the 3DS game sold 340k when the console had sold 50-70k the weeks leading up to the launch. For the time and platform the 3DS game is more ambitious and the WiiU just seems to have lost so much steam, but this game could very well be why.
WiiU sales are probably way too high considering 3D World sales, but I had changed my mind too many times and decided to stick it there and hope the 3k sales were due to the bundles coming up :p
Vita was just slightly over 20k every week, maybe a bit high as I think VitaTV will steal some sales. Very high VitaTV numbers because launch sales tend to be so high and because it is just 10k yen to play a ton of games on your TV. It is sort of the only next gen console launching in Japan this year.

Sorry about the rambling. I thought about this for way too long so it will probably suck when everything is way off :p

Both bundles containing wii fit u are not available anymore on amazon. Dont know if they are sold out or not, but the other optionx are selling it for 45k ¥. The other bundles are still there. On amiami, both are sold out.

yeah. lol like i said some time ago, not selling out is a much bigger news than selling out on amiami. but last i checked, only one of the skus were sold out. today, they both are.

and mc numbers for the bundles are only coming next week.

Very, very low. God Eater opened at 276k and Burst at 267k; so you expect the sequel to do less in two weeks? That would be a massive let down.
