Super fake. The guy who leaked Diancie etc tested for Mega forms and only found Latias/Latios; I remember him saying Mega Sceptile and Swampert don't exist in X/Y's coding.

EDIT: I wish it was real, because I'd use the fuck out of Prankster Mega Drapion.

Well if they aren't in the game's code let's hope that GameFreak is not against adding more Mega Evolutions within a generation, because it would be a real slap to the face if they release Hoenn remakes/sequels and only Blaziken can Mega Evolve.

It would interesting to see if the Mega Blazkien stone is already in the game's data or if the free Torchic download added it in.

Hm, oh right, that makes sense.

Though I wonder what will happen if they add new stuff in Z.

IIRC, the new stuff in Plat like the Rotom forms just weren't usable in wi-fi club then.

Although I prefer the original designs, I can really respect this "shared" Mega Evolution concept for Lati@s. Fits them well, and purple is also a good idea for the implementation.

Doesn't it just spawn a bad egg this time around?

The bad eggs have traditionally spawned due to a checksum failure (Basically the game compares the qualities the species is supposed to have with the specimen and goes "WTF!?". I'm not entirely sure why they implemented it the way they did.)

I'm sad that not every starter didn't get a Mega Evolution, now that they started down that path.

Gamefreak has no shame in showing preference for certain Pokemon :(

:-\

Mega Lati@s sucks. Latios and Latias were already some of the less interesting of the Hoenn legendaries, but making them mega-evolve into the same (or similar) form is just obnoxious. Why do they even need a mega evolution? I'd be surprised if there was some huge demand for a mega Latios or Latias. People who liked their stats liked them and found them awesome Pokemon with great stats. But nope, gotta make a needless mega form that takes the few differences the pair had and casts most of them away in a purple mixture.

I've been pretty disappointed by mega evolutions this generation from both a game design and visual design standpoint. Even gen curse rears its head for me, I guess.

Oh well, at least the new Pokemon are still cool (and Mega Alakazam, strangely enough, has my favorite design this generation. Looks perfect.).

You mean preference for starters because they didn't introduced them in the "normal" batch and saved them for a more heavy promotion?

Nice to see Latias and Latios continuing the proud tradition of disappointing and terrible Mega Evolution designs.

And what is the point of Mega Lati@s when Soul Dew exists? Like, how monstrously broken are these things going to be?

Sure, sure.

Well, I mean surely all of the starters will eventually receive Mega Evolutions. Saving the Hoenn starters for a future game that will potentially feature Hoenn (be it a remake or otherwise) seems like a wise idea. I don't think the lack of data in XY prevents them from patching them in even during this Generation if a Hoenn game indeed appears either -- that said, it's safe to say that not all of them will appear during Gen 6. I expect them in this order: I -> III -> II -> IV -> V -> VI.

Is there something up with the Battle Spot?

I keep getting a 'communication error' and it disconnects. It doesn't happen with any other online mode, and I've had it happen at friends houses, so I don't think it's a problem with my connection. Considering there was the bug with the GTS filters I'm starting to doubt it's a problem at my end at all.

After hearing about so many obscure backstories with war and political outcry in the Pokemon universe, is anyone hoping we'll eventually get a slightly more mature (literally mature, not Shadow the Hedgehog bullshit - think Fire Emblem levels of "adult") Pokemon title where you actually take part in a war?

I for one would shit myself if I was fighting in some horde battle versus enemy troops and Lieutenant Surge showed up.

:p Just a random thought, I think Hoopa is the Mew/celebi/etc. of this gen. Seeing as it's part psychic. All of them have been part psychic.
Just wanted to point that out. I'm sure some people guessed the same. Though I know some thought Diancie was it.

Are there any "Fire Ring" Pokemon in the Pokedex? An NPC in the yellow plaza (I think it was that one) said something like "I heard the Fire Ring Pokemon lives underneath here"...Volcanion does resemble a ring?

Though I know some thought Diancie was it.
It would crazy if it were both and version exclusive. Then again I guess Diancie fails the type test...

Isn't the quote Lava Dome pokemon? The only pokemon other than possibly Volcanion to have that is Heatran, but I doubt they're referencing it.

I'm not sure how legit this is but Pokebeach has posted info again. Some of it was true the last time while some was BS but I'll post it anyway and take it as a rumour obviously.

http://pokebeach.com/2013/12/information-on-diancie-hoopa-and-volcanion

-Diancie is Rock/Fairy, 2'04", 19.4 lbs. #151. It is known as the Jewel Pokemon. "It can instantly create many diamonds by compressing the carbon in the air between its hands."

-Diancie's signature move is Diamond Storm, a physical Rock-type attack. A bunch of diamonds are created and thrown at the enemy. "The user whips up a storm of diamonds to damage opposing Pokemon. This may also raise the user's Defense stat." It has 100 power and 95% accuracy. Diancie can also learn Moonblast, Safeguard, and Light Screen.

-Diancie is not related to Carbink on its Pokedex evolution page. However it could be a ---Manaphy/Phione situation. Or maybe the diamonds it throws turn into Carbink after a couple million years? :p

-At Level 100 with no EV training, Diancie's stats can be 222/236/300/236/344/135.

-Hoopa is Psychic/Ghost, 1'08", 19.8 lbs. #152. It is known as the Mischief Pokemon. "It gathers things it likes and pushes them through its loop to teleport them to a secret place."

-Hoopa's signature move is Hyperspace Hole, a special Psychic-type attack. A dark hole is created in the ground, Hoopa goes through it, then comes out behind the enemy and hits them. "Using a hyperspace hole, the user appears next to the target and strikes. This also hits a target using Protect or Detect." It's got 80 power and N/A accuracy. Hoopa can also learn Psychic, Shadow Ball, and Trick Room

-At Level 100 with no EV training, Hoopa's stats can be 301/231/154/315/296/177.

-Volcanion is Fire/Water, 5'07", 429.9 lbs. #153. "It expels its internal steam from the arms on its back. It has enough power to blow down a mountain."

-Volcanion's signature move is Steam Eruption, a special Water-type attack. "The user immerses the target in superheated steam. This may also leave the target with a burn." It's got 110 power and 95 accuracy. Volcanion can also learn Flare Blitz, Overheat, and Explosion.

-Volcanion is related to the Lumiose City blackouts.

-At Level 100 with no EV training, Volcanion's stats can be 275/254/276/247/235/176.

-There are no other Mega Evolutions in the game aside from Mega Latios and Mega Latias, which look the same. They both retain their original Dragon/Psychic typing.

-Celebi remains Psychic/Grass.

-The extra meteor for Deoxys at the Fossil Lab is a Red Herring. It's just another attack forme meteor.

There's a few things that stand out as out here such as the Dex Numbers since he decides to say their supposed Kalos Dex No. instead of the Nation Dex ones. Also, does anyone know if Hyperspace Hole fits within the new character limit?

Yeah, Hyperspace Hole (15 characters) is less than Parabolic Charge (16 characters).

Rough estimates of base stats given the above values:
Diancie: 50/100/140/100/154/56
Hoopa: 80/105/59/151/130/75
Volcanion: 70/107/120/120/113/70

I assumed all three have a base stat total of 600 as is the norm for event Pokémon (the only exception is Keldeo as that was part of a quartet). I assumed a Relaxed nature for Diancie (it made the stats come out evenly), and neutral natures for the other two. Kinda iffy on Volcanion (its Sp. Atk should probably be higher as its signature move is special), but 105 just fits.

EDIT: Fixed stats

I find it very believable. Some people have had access to the Pokemon and have caught them. They could easily share the information.

Assuming this is true, I was thinking that the person who thought they saw Heatran in Lumiose actually saw Volcanion and there's also no legendary with base 100 stats across the board.

Possible images of the event Pokemon. Hard to tell if they're real or fake.

If these are real, I'm assuming they were hacked to level 100 (would also explain the Master Balls) and that they have no EVs.

How the heck can you tell they have EVs or not?
