Bottom line: bring them all. All of them here. 999 is one of the best games I've played lately.

I put "the shift away from the horror atmosphere in the first game" for what I didn't like about VLR.

But I've always seen the game-breaking bug in the 3DS as the game itself contracting Radical-6, so in a meta way, it works for me. (I also avoided it completely on my playthrough, so there you go.)

I posted that I didn't like how the touchscreen controls on the Vita were imprecise and felt sluggish. Other than that, the games are damn near perfection. Uchikoshi is my god.

bug that kills your save file and was never fixed.

Yup, I put that in too.

What really annoys me is that none of the companies involved - spike, aksys, rsg, EVER posted an official apology. They posted about the workarounds with vague mentions of more being done, and then just clammed up.

Aside from aksys releasing the game on eshop six months later, claiming in facebook it was fixed - when some of the game killing bugs were still present(all they changed was disabling saving in PEC)

No voice during the puzzle parts.
Not enough Zero III.

Did that save bug in the 3DS version ever get fixed?

Sadly not.

I love complaining through official channels. Now I'm in the mood to tell Nintendo about how badly they suck in a Club Nintendo survey.

I went for improving the horrid character designs and obviously avoiding gamebreaking bugs.

Isn't Aksys just the publisher in the US though, would they have any influence?

Visual novels are a big part of my gaming time now. It just feels good to play something like it after a hard day's work.

This year I played/am still playing Phoenix Wright, VLR, Sweet Fuse, DanganRonpa, Super DanganRonpa and might get to Corpse Party when I have the time. The genre is incredibly appealing to me, kinda like a TV miniseries if you will in terms of longer term investment into characters and story.

And God I want that third Zero Escape game so bad.

I wonder why visual novel publishers don't cater to avid readers as opposed to gamers. Would it be too weird? I'm sure there are people into visual novel artstyles (i.e. watch anime and/or read manga) who read regular novels and don't necessarily play games. A lot of gamers aren't readers, so I find it weird that they cater towards gamers and not readers.

wait, you ticked "I liked the character design".

We don't have "get out of jail free" cards, but if we did, she'd have one.

Thanks. I didn't run into this, but I'm going to put it down in the vain hope that it will help Aksys when speaking to Chunsoft about fixing known bugs prior to localization.

Wasn't the bug fixed in the digital version of the game on the 3DS?

I'm still playing through 999 and I loved every second of it.

Made a note of the 3DS save bug. Nothing else bad to say, though, really.
I do hope that ZE3 brings back some of the horror aspect.

This so much, what's worse Rising Star knew about the bug and still did nothing.

I am going to have to get a Vita just to play the game.

I would love if they bring the Zero Escape games to PC.
One solution for 999's puzzle that IIRC
required you to close your NDS' cover
is to have
the screen minimized then restoring it from the taskbar or the like

Wario64

works for Gamestop (lol)
I put frame rate as the thing I didn't like about VLR. I know it's weird to complain about it in a visual novel, but the interface seemed pretty laggy during puzzle parts and such

I put "the lack of tension compared to 999" as my thing I don't like about VLR.

Game's still amazing, though.

what about the puzzle at the end that
required you to turn your NDS over so you can play on the top screen

Didn't do well in Japan, and I don't think it did well here either.

I remember reading in a thread that the Vita version in North America did around 4K, but that the 3DS version did much better (though there were no exact numbers). 999 also did much better here than in Japan, from what I've heard.

Holy crap! Today's real megaton is that more than two people can have the same first name.
I assume everyone in the "What didn't you like about VLR" section wrote "the save bug that crashed the game that still hasn't been patched?"

Sounds like a poll for future localization considerations rather than Zero Escape itself. What sort of input would they have for an IP that doesn't belong to them? I mean in what way could they improve Zero Escape 3 from a localization stand point?

Nope because I bought it on the Vita.
