Then the videos being taken down from youtube would have sufficed... a console ban on top of it is crazy.
Right, and that's why they didn't do it. He can still use it, it's not a brick.

They'll reverse the ban? Do a 180?
C'mon, haha.

This. Or at least when he went to download the patch. The fact that it happened hours later after MS moved against his Youtube video makes this obvious to me.
Unless you are telling me, you can receive a console ban because of your actions on a totally unrelated separate service?

You understand he just put up an unboxing video that they already took down.

No they took down his Youtube video citing copyright claims.
Later they Ban his Console.

What? That would be stupid!!
What he does with his console (that he paid for) is his decision. If he wants to put it on youtube he can do it. No need for a ban
Then someone should tweet Shu if they will get banned if they post videos early on Youtube, but can the PS4 upload Youtube videos?
His unboxing. When they themselves put out an unboxing video months ago. Yeah, okay.
How do you know this?
How do you know? that sounds even more stupid.
However, Microsoft removed the video under a copyright claim and has banned his console as a result. Another gamer who received a console from an online order claims he has talked to Microsoft and the company has "said it’s mine to do with as I please."
i would agree with you guys aside from the fact this is NOT how it worked with the 360
and not because of the millions of users, its just the system.
They probably have numerous checks and balances to go through before they ban a machine. after all, they wouldn't want to do it unnecessarily (despite whats happened here but its a unique situation, which i am not defending)
24/7, people sitting there watching consoles connect? having a laugh
I am not sure I see the consistent line of logic between "They have plenty of checks and gateways to make sure no one is banned unfairly" and "Yeah this dude is banned unfairly but it's okay."
Give MS the benefit of the doubt because they gave this guy the benefit of the d... fuck.Wow, MS seemed to really piss off a lot of people here who already hated them in the first place. I think we need to let this play out a bit before condemning anyone. Seriously, wait for some facts to come out, then go to town.
MS didn't ban him because he was using it. They banned him for the youtube stuff.
think about it logically people. the ban has nothing to do with youtube.
its all about the hardware connecting in and it triggering the systems....
if he had posted the xbox one unboxing to youtube and never connected to Live, there would have been a copyright infringement handed out but no ban
they are not related
Well they have someone sitting there watching YouTube 24/7 apparently. And the banning came soon after. There aren't many XB1s out there to connect right now, I'm sure it wasn't hard for someone to tell which console was his. Put 2 and 2 together.

not them specifically. Specialist company hired for lead up to launch to watch youtube. these companies exist purely to do this and are contracted to do it
thats what i reckon MS has done.
my feeling is you guys just want it to be that Microsoft has done this on purpose rather than automated to justify the feeling you have for your PS4 and fuck Microsoft and Xbox. They've had a shocking PR campaign and this just tops it off, you all just want it to be true as opposed to a 'mistake'
i am giving completely imo logical ideas for why this happened based on 360 experience and you guys just want to shoot it and say OH MAN BAD BAD MICROSOFT.
which is kinda of stupid really.
They banned his console???
THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU MICROSOFT?!

What exactly does a banned console mean, can you still play single player stuff on it? Or is it totally worthless now?
It's just hilarious that MS 1st banning is before the launch has even happened.
You can't use any feature that requires Live
I don't know if this includes patches, but it does probably include everything behind the Gold wall, DLC, multiplayer, etc.
Well if they unban his console either on release day or soon after then it would help their PR.

Like I have said before, he would not have been banned if he did not create a spectacle.
Someone ask Yoshida, " what if I post youtube videos, post pics of the UI and other information prior to launch with my leaked console? Would I get banned then? "
The answer to that would be something to see.
Banning him for showing the console on Youtube is honestly fucking worse than banning him for using it early.

YouTube didn't have streaming 4 years ago. But yes, the archive is still up on jtv/twitch. Check my other post.On Youtube and is that video still there?

He cannot connect to live but apparently can play games still. This ban may be something new since Xbox One is a new console. But as far as I know, Microsoft does not lift console bans.

Yup. I highly doubt they're gonna lift this ban at launch. He cannot connect to live but apparently can play games still. This ban may be something new since Xbox One is a new console. But as far as I know, Microsoft does not lift console bans.
