I'd be all for this, he's got to be my favorite character in the game. I don't know why, but reminds me of the brownies in Willow. Too bad there's no way he'll make it. Sakurai is all about having the main character that gets top billing. We're getting Shulk, unless he finds a way to work the other characters in as maybe a chain attack for a final smash. I suppose there's a skin chance for someone like Reyn if Sakurai doesn't like the idea of another sword user who kind of looks like a blonde Marth in red from a distance.

I think The Seventh Character should be a good fit for Smash, actually. Although that character's inclusion would be spoilery, it's a good few years since the game was playable, and there's gotta be some statute of limitations on these things.

It's awesome and weird to see redesigned capsules. I'm so used to old capsule for like last 3 games.

Since we already got rid of tripping, so we still have few things to worrying about.

1. Input lags. I'm pretty sure that people are aware of Project Melee's founding that they found that Brawl do have input lag in the code for an unknown reason.

2. Online Mode. We actually thought we are going to get better online mode for SSB4 but anymore. Wii Sport Tennis have been reported to have mediocre or terrible lags. Before you said NAMCO, Namco-Bandai teamed up with Nintendo to work on Wii Sport Club so I can see that being concerning.

The odds that it's the same team using the same backend infrastructure are close to nonexistent.

Completely different teams. I'm in full trust with Bamco after delivering EX VS.

You can hardly compare the effort behind a Wii Sports port with that of a fully-fledged Smash Bros sequel. Also, Kid Icarus Uprising's online is pretty much a living "Don't worry about it bro"

Maturity, bitches.
All bar one match during my 24 hour trial period with Wii Sports was fine. The game does have a signal strength indicator in the corner so you can tell when you are connected with someone with a dodgy connection.

Finding an opponent was super quick to (well everyone was likely playing this one title that day).

"Here are the familiar capsules--these guys deserve a prize for being in every single game. We gave them a cute redesign by shortening their length a bit."
Thanks.

What sports were you playing?

Odd design choice that I just noticed on the website and likely has to do with nothing: All the names are in caps except Wii Fit Trainer. Her name is styled Wii Fit TRAINER.

An odd choice for design and might just be what is announced in-game since her name is fairly long.

Maybe. Pokemon Trainer is longer and adding Wii Fit to the beginning will reduce confusion if Red makes a return.

I would guess it's because of the name "Wii Fit" being a thing, with that specific capitalization. Like it's trademarked or whatever.
It's a silly comparison, but imagine a giant walking iPad got in - I'm willing to bet the "i" would be lower case, because of branding.

Being fairly long doesn't have anything to do with it not being in caps.
It's due to a brand thing. If your read a game booklet, official site or anything related to "Wii" or "Wii U" (specially controllers related) you'll notice some will say "IT SUPPORTS UP TO X Wii REMOTES ", "YOU CAN USE YOUR Wii CLASSIC CONTROLLER PRO" and so on.

Look, I took these from the Mario Kart Wii page
I can't see my games' booklets now to see which one does this but you get my point.

I like the new capsules. They look more like something you could actually get in real life, say out of a vending machine.

Item updates are meh though, since I more than likely won't even see items past the first week or so of the game being out. :p

The official FB posted some 3DS images.

I don't recognise some of them, but I was missing for a couple of weeks in October. Did some quick searches on Google and couldn't find anything for them.

We better inform Sakurai that it displeases you for we cannot have that!
I agree completely. Any and all of my opinions as dictated in this thread should be incorporated both into the Smash Bros. screenshot choice algorithm as well as the game directly.

And this has probably already been pointed out, but it's interesting how the last time we saw the capsule (in the SSB Developer Direct) it was more or less the same model as in Brawl, rather than the new model we see now. Makes me wonder how much of SSB4 is being built on top of Brawl assets and how much we'll see changed by the time the game is released.
Also gives me some more hope for Melee's air dodge to return...

Checked the press site and no crisp images of these

Though as usual they updated with crisp 1080 images of the recent daily images.

Boy, the 3DS version looks fantastic. If both versions come out the same day, I'm going to have a really hard time choosing which to play through first.
