Atlus JP puts up Persona related teaser site counting down to November 24

So, hate to poke a hole in anyone's bubble, but Teddie being there doesn't necessarily refute that this may be P5. Teddie can easily be a recurring character that shows up again in P5 to assist the new protagonists, I mean, after all (Persona 4 spoilers ahead)
he is a shadow. I'm pretty sure they don't follow the same rules of mortality as we do, so it's possible that at whatever point in the future (or past) P5 takes place, he could be alive assuming it's in the same universe.
Or, it could be a parallel reality a la Eternal Punishment, which didn't include all of the same characters as Innocent Sin.

This is going to be something other than P5, isn't it? Good God. I don't think I can take this. They've been teasing the game for years and years now. At one point, I thought they were going to release it in 2012...at the very latest (I thought they had at least a small team working on it on the side while Catherine was finishing up, but I guess not). It's kind of funny how there's as much of a time gap between P4 and P5 as there was between P2 and P3.

EDIT: If you line up three identical Teddies like a slot machine, the whole thing shakes and resets. Could just be a joke? I don't know. I just want this roller coaster ride to nowhere to end.

They're in the same situation they were then: They had to build an engine.

In order for that investment to pay off, their engine and their SMT demon models have to used for multiple games. That said, I think there's a good chance P5 could be cross-generation. I know Atlus has no qualms with publishing games on outdated hardware, but introducing an engine only for a previous generation doesn't seem like it would be worth all these years of work, especially since they said they switched engines partway through development.

Whatever. We'll find out soon...maybe....hopefully. *sigh*

Robert Boyd of Zeboyd just posted on his twitter that apparently the voice actress for Nanako has "Persona 4 vol2 " and "Golden 2 Persona 4" on her resume, now:

It's not arena because Arena is listed seperately

make of that what you will

The listing is full of odd and poorly labeled entries (See: World of Warcraft and how individual patches and dungeons are listed.)

I wouldn't take it as evidence of anything.

I remember making threads years ago on GAF about VAs posting stuff like this not using proper game titles, which eventually led to P3 FES being confirmed for the US. It's not without precedent.

EDIT: I just realized most of the regulars of Persona-GAF have join dates a lot later than that thread. I feel old again, lol.

Not without precedent, and we do appear to have potentially three announcements incoming, but it still could easily be in error. Especially given that there is a plausible explanation for "Persona 4 Volume 2" in the form of the anime's second volume.

Also, the listings appear to be old too, as Inorigo mentioned.

She definitely has some mistakes on that list. Hammerin' Hero 2 does not exist, and only the fifth Sakura Wars game was localized.

Could also be P4A2.

One thing we've heard consistently talking to voice actors (and something I've picked up from interviews, myself) they record a lot of stuff much much much further in advance than you would ever expect on many occasions.

.............. Don't even joke about that.

Sega/Atlus have more business sense than both Capcom and Square combined.

The latter two companies are struggling to survive right now, where Sega is actually seeing profits. That PC market, releasing solid core games on all consoles that appeal to that particular demographic, almost like geniuses in comparison.

A Persona 4 sequel does make some sense... Atlus put a lot of effort into Golden, it really shines above other portable handheld rpgs. They could have put so much effort into making it nearly console-grade quality because they planned a P4 sequel all along, reusing a lot of the assets, engine, etc. good way to get the most out of their investment.

Still would rather have P5... we need more big jrpg console games coming and it doesn't get more ideal than P5.

Sega. Business sense. That's good. I guess that's why they just let Yakuza die, instead of, oh, I don't know, putting it on PS+ and instantly getting a million new fans.

People always find that one argument to undermine the whole thing, but if you follow their financial reports or various business decisions over the last few years, then you will know they have been doing very well.

Especially if you compare them to similar Japanese publishers that have been struggling.

Given they were planning for P4G to be like P3P until they got their hands on the Vita, then I'd say I doubt it.

No it doesn't. If they want to make another console-grade quality game, it makes a lot more sense to make P5.

They already stated they were working on the next numbered game years ago so I don't understand the skepticism.

I wouldn't mind a Persona 4.2, as long as the playable characters are new characters and not the same ones from Persona 4. :p

I wonder...this could be a localization announcement for Persona 4 Ultimax Suplex Hold.

I've probably been beaten 10x over tho...

I'll just believe that. But don't blame me for being sceptical about Sega's publishing when some of my favourite games like Yakuza, Binary Domain and Anarchy Reigns all die even though they are great.
