Assassins's Creed PS4 is now 1080p with AA.

This new AA method seems to be gaining traction. The first game to use it was Killzone if I'm not mistaken. Any idea if it will make it ways to the PC?

Finally got some decent time with Black Flag, the image quality is very noticeable but besides that, this game is actually fun. Light years beyond the other AC titles.

Sleeping Dogs PC is also loaded with PC-specific graphics features. Man, that game looks good.
There have been rumors about a release with the PC features on the new consoles.

Console only players deserve this. Man, Sleeping Dogs at night in the rain, first time I played it felt very next-gen. Tomb Raider deserved one too, keep them coming I say.

When does the fun start? Havana is typical AC pretty much, it's very boring to run around this bland city chasing collectibles for some reason (trophy hunting I guess).

Just stick to the story missions until the world opens up. Then the fun begins.

Can someone explain how the ps4 patch system works? I started the game and apparently it was already downloaded and patched. When I look at the update history in notifications it said 3 minutes ago acbf was updated, which was when I turned on the ps4. Wondering if it downloaded somehow while in standby and then installed it real quick, but I'm not sure.

PS+ lets you download and install software updates when the system is in standby.

I had to post again to say that this game looks absolutely beautiful in 1080p on a 70" screen. I am loving it. I think it's my favorite AssCreed game so far.

I am having a hard time choosing between this game, Killzone and NBA 2K14 as my favorite PS4 launch game.

Anyone who says the PS4 doesn't have great launch games is delusional...

What's the verdict then folks? Big improvement or just slightly better IQ?

Big improvement for me. I play on a 42 inch Plasma and sit pretty close

I'm really enjoying this game a lot too. That first mission where you're storming the ships getting a crew was so badass. I finally am playing the pirate game I've always wanted.

You must be really early in the game and it hasnt even started. I really like the ship combat and exploring.

Just a huge map with so much stuff to do.

This is 900p vs 1080p and some of you are noting big differences. Remember how members of the media told you there was barely any difference between 720p and 1080p? Yea...

I stopped listening to the Tested podcast when they tried to give us the magic of scalers bullshit.

Yeah I just panned the map out of havana and was kind of amazed how big it is. I really doubt there's a lot of interesting things to do though based on this series' and ubisoft's history. I'm open for surprises though.

I said damn.

I fired this up for the first time last night and I was just telling one of my co-workers today how unimpressed I was with it. After this patch the difference is like night and day. So much cleaner and smooth looking compared with my playtime last night.
So how does the update work, PS4 update UI was pretty confusing Day 1, is it automatic when I launch the game?
When I turned on my PS4 the update for this and KZ both started downloading automatically under my notifications. Both installed on their own too.

I find the Forts and just randomly attacking ships fun. But man random Animus pieces and Treasure Chests in the middle of nowhere, so I have to jump out of the boat, swim there then swim back. I don't like that too much, but....I...I..I just have to get them.

I'm pretty sure people have posted comparisons prior in the thread but I saw some posts asking for some. Here are two screenshots (one prior to patch, one after):

Sometimes it starts downloading when you start the game, so you have to close it then check Notifications in the download spot to see if it's been installed.

Then check the patch notes by pressing options on the game, to see if it's version 1.02

Why all the hate? I understand it wasn't the best move to push it out without 1080 to begin with, but at least they care enough to push out an update so that it can be, while also bettering the AA. What is the downside? I see no issue. They wanted to have a game out by launch that looked good, and honestly do you think had it not been stated that the game ran at 900p that people would have been able to tell?

Half a million more pixels rendered and improved AA makes quite a difference.

Just notice that improved texture clarity on the guys ass.

I think it's mostly just from them saying it was going to be 1080p then us finding out it was only 900 with a patch coming some unspecified time later.

I totally understand that feeling. It plays on my OCD/completionist tendencies and I end up having to do a lot of it too. I never truly get everything in AC games but if I see them in my path I have to stop and get them.

What a fucking pathetic spin. Now rushing games to market with fps loss or lower resolution is normality and then finishing your games through a patch is "extra work and dedication". Wow Ubi. Just wow.

Is the foliage on the PS4 version physically reactive to the weather and player movement? If it is I'll probably end up getting this version instead of PC since I don't feel like dealing with Ubisoft's lack of PC optimization and the game looks pretty damn sharp at native 1080p.

Am I the only one who's disc drive now makes a high pitched whirring noise every 5 or so seconds? It only happens with this game and I don't remember it being there before the patch.
