Earlier today Sony detected a potential problem involving a very small number of SEN accounts (including mine) and made it so to login you would need to do a password reset. Just a heads up if anyone is having problems logining in tonight

Anecdotally though, this time last night I picked up blood dragon no issue, and not 10 minutes later my pre-order for tearaway was rejected on the grounds that my Card was expired (it wasn't), It took a call to the bank today to unblock it.

Clearly I need more foil.

Give us two step already Sony

You could always use a Gmail account with two step as your account email address. That should stop anyone from changing your password.

Not as good as two step done on the account level though. Nowhere close, but it's something.

I just used the forgot password button and followed the email link on my phone.
You might be able to use the vita if you have email setup but I don't know.

I had to ring up support and try to change it that way cause I didn't have access to the email I used anymore. Turned out I used a fake Date of Birth because I wasn't 18 and have now had to email them with pictures of my driving license to prove my identity. They said it should be solved by Monday *fingers crossed*

A mild annoyance, but an annoyance all the same, they really do need to sort out a two step system.

Thank you for the heads up OP. I just had to do this myself there now.

My account had been acting odd for a while actually, I would get signed out of the online store at random intervals with a message stating that the sign in had failed. Hopefully this password change will solve that particular issue for me.

OK, I got it sorted out. Forgot I used the date of birth of a family member because I was panicking. Man, a hacked account would have been the biggest clusterfuck possible... phew.
Sorry for misleading anyone with my first post.

If anyone is in trouble it's most likely your date of birth.

For those who forgot their fake date of birth (i did), Carl have one solution:

Found my PSN fake DOB without contacting Sony. If you ever signed up to Mubi (the film service thing), it logs your PSN DOB under its profile settings. Load the website up and log in, go on social and click on your profile. You should be able to find your birthday on there

What a very scary experience. They really should have emailed people about this. It seems to have affected most users.
I was pretty annoyed for a second as I signed up with a fake DOB so I had no idea how to recover my pass. Luckily, after about half an hour of trial and error, I got in.
