Something weird is happening to PSN

I can't log in to PSN anymore on Vita or PC. I get an error message saying my password or email is incorrect, but I haven't changed either of them. I know Sony's sending emails to PSN accounts to change their details but I didn't receive one.

I asked around on Twitter, and in the Vita thread. I wasn't alone with this issue.

Edit: After changing my password I was able to log in again. So if you're getting that message do that.

Sony have put new security measures inplace that resulted in passwords being reset so you'll need to click the forgot password button and change it

I actually got this same error message today and was a little freaked out because I thought my account had been hacked. Good to know.

I just logged into the web store without issue. I haven't received the email yet or changed my password.

Had the same issue on friday last week. Had to reset twice because for whatever reason I couldn't login on my Vita but could over SEN. After my second reset, everything was fine again.

I didn't get the password change email as well. But I changed it and everything is all good. I heard Sony is doing this to clear fake or un-used PSN accounts.

I had to do a password reset this morning when I couldn't get into my account. Never received any notification about it (or I just haven't gotten it yet), but the reset only took about a minute.

Isn't this a regional thing that was happening in EU only? I'm in america and just signed in on PC and Vita fine, although a few days ago when I tried to sign in on PC I was getting warning messages about it trying to redirect to some server name. Probably a false positive since it's gone now.

But it hasn't changed. I'm going to leave it for now. It was up this morning; I bought Trine 2 via the iOS Playstation app and received confirmation in email.

I don't think its EU only, I'm not in the EU.

SEN password reset for "suspect accounts".

This happened in the UK last week to a small number of people, myself included.

Weird, I just signed in to PSN on my PS3 without any issues. No password prompt, nothing.

Wonder what's going on. Maybe PSN is evolving? ;p

I think I might have lied about my birth year cause I was to young at the time to get an adult account or whatever they call it. How do I fix this. Sony pls

Happened to me too, first day I thought there was a maintance thing on the server that hosted my account, the second day I didn't have the time to try more but I still couldn't log in, the third day I kinda freaked out and feared that someone hacked me.
Then I went to reset my PW and logged in, I still had some cash I left in the wallet and there were no transactions.

Sounds like a forced PW reset program, maybe they got hacked again and they promptly changed the PW of the affected users but didn't wanted to make this public.

But that's just me, and I love conspiracy :p

I was a minor when I made this PSN ID, so I thought maybe I bumped the years up by a bit. I tried a new birth year, and was greeted by this message: "Additional attempts to retrieve your password are not permitted at this time. Please try again later"

I can't.

I'm in Canada btw.

I find it hilarious that there was no password change prompt for my EU account but my US account got one =/

Anyways, changed it on the US one. Hoping for the best now.

There's talk of a new round of FIFA hijacks, similar to last years' except this time it's on PS3 instead of 360. I've seen one user of the Something Awful forums get jacked to the tune of about $140.

Credit where credit's due: Sony has been far more proactive on this issue than Microsoft ever was.

I had to change mine too but got no email, some people had sums of money added to their wallets from their Credit cards but i think it was stopped before who ever could spend it or lock out accounts.

BEWARE - someone from here, probably a lurker, recently requested me as a friend due to the PSN name threads thing. He asked if i wanted free copies of Knack, Killzone ect all i had to do was give him my email and password so he could transfer them LOL
Of course i told him to do one and blocked him but i didn't write down his PSN name it was D2020 something, be on the lookout.
