I second Fuwell at Sim Lim Sq for PC stuff. Bought my 7970 there quite recently

For console gaming- I'd recommend Gamescore at Funan. Not exactly the cheapest option around- but customer service has been consistently solid. Been visiting them since my uni days when their shop was located on the other side of the floor

The cheapest is Qisahn at Orchard. People complain about bad customer service, but i haven't seen any place that sells games cheaper tbh.

Will be going to Singapore this coming Sunday.
From 2008 to 2012 I used to go to Singapore once every 2 months.

Are there any new establishments/must-visit places?
I used to love visiting Funan Mall to browse for electronics, until I noticed the prices aren't necessarily lower compared to other places...

Is there any place in Singapore that sells laptop bags for 18.4"?

If you are looking for some recent developments in Singapore, they have this new park that gathers flowers from all over the world. It is quite picturesque, so I think it is worth a visit. It is called Gardens by the Bay. It is just besides marina bay sands.

I also enjoy going to free outdoor concerts at the esplanade. A little known fact is that they have outdoor concerts just about every evening on Fridays to Sundays, and they invite a random singer/group to perform, and the bayside view is pretty good as well.

I like Gamescore since you can sell your older games, and trade in for credit. But I usually just buy from a neigbourhood Comics Connection.

Yea. Usually I think the few bucks you save is not worth the trip to the store. I usually sell my games online rather than trade in for credit though. You get more money back this way.

Anyone here play Dota 2? Stopped playing Dota 1 about four years ago after playing it since 2004 and started seriously playing Dota 2 again over last weekend. So I'm a Dota 1 veteran but Dota 2 noob. Add me on Steam (ID: ElyrionX) if anyone wants to party up some time or something.

Not sure why I didn't think of asking earlier- but if there's anyone who still actively plays Fifa13 on Origin- please feel free to add me. Origin ID : tanbern.

Australia seems like a pretty decent place itself. Lots of people in SEA seems to want to migrate to Australia.

They recently opened a Jollibee in Orchard road. Last I heard it was doing fantastic business, and for some reason, our ex president went there and took a picture.

I saw you were playing last night, I don't play but, love watching, especial the internationals, last nights matches were good, a bit disappointed singapore lost the first game.

Yeah, I saw you spectating last night. I've been watching a couple of games myself.

It's interesting that you watch but not play. IMO, Dota 2 isn't very spectator-friendly (unlike Starcraft 2) because too much stuff happens onscreen at the same time and there are a lot of abilities and heroes to keep track of.

You should definitely play though. The game has a very steep learning curve for sure but it's pretty rewarding once you get going. I am playing with a few friends here and there who are mostly also very new to the game so you're welcome to party with us if you're keen.

Zenith's been looking shaky the past few months. Shame, they were really strong during the first half of the year but it's the International everyone pays attention to.

And yeah, no better time to dip your toes into the game.

I haven't been keeping up with the International but I hope Zenith does better than last year. Pretty much lost to every Chinese team except DK.

BTW anyone going for the National Day Parade?

To give some context, i was viewing my profile when i discovered that i have been here since 2007 :0

i remember seeing a lot of you since i have joined so i click on some of the profiles on this page.

Oh happy national day to all Singaporean GAF!

Still Malaysia like have a lot of public holiday. End of this month is when Tanah Melayu (as it is previously known) achieve their independence from the British and the following month that is 16 September there is the formation of Malaysia.

Man I miss Singapore. The exchange rate with Ringgit Malaysia is getting more higher lately and I planning to visit this coming November for Anime Festival Asia.

Going to Singapore from Oct. 11 to 14 from Japan. Just a short trip to see a friend and get some good Malay and Singaporean cuisine.

Nah- the road closures caused me to be (slightly) late for work the last 3 days tho. Almost none of my Singaporean friends are excited about the F1 tbh. The expats working in my bank are all over it though.

Singapore Fun Fact!
Saw someone mention Takashimaya! That thing is fashioned after a gravestone for fengshui reasons... (It was supposedly built on a cemetry)

Anyone up for a Vita or 3DS meeting? :D
