I'm not unhappy about it nor particularly obsessive. I've gone both routes with new move-ins: resetting and leaving it up to chance. The latter is fine but I've found that the former allows me to spend more time actually interacting with my villagers rather than fixing up a town that's pretty much complete.
I'm pretty much fine with neighbors moving wherever and I will design around that. The only spot I worry about is the entrance to my city. I would be pretty miffed if someone moved on top of that. But as for right now I've got 10 villagers and I can't see me letting any of them go anytime soon. So I don't have to worry about any new move-ins.
Funny enough I did the alt trick when Lobo moved in, and the very first time he picked a perfect spot to place his house. I was dreading having to keep restarting for hours like people talk about here; but I got lucky with him I guess.

Looks great, good idea on that wall. So you are inviting us all over for Christmas dinner right?
I have two alts, one runs the gyroid store in my town and the other runs the town's detective agency. I don't really use the 2nd as a storage space, the first though definitely keeps all my gyroids.
For storage I just store items in letters and save those letters at the post office. Good for things you want to keep that may be unorderable, but that you don't want to use right away.

Gates open again.Just be sure in the body of the letter to write what you have attached to it. That way you don't have to pull a bunch of letters out looking for what you want.
I need to start doing that too. I don't use the majority of the unorderable stuff anyway.
That's a ridiculously good idea. I usually keep my shovel/net/etc. in my letter inventory but I never thought of storing things in letters at the post office.

Talk to Isabelle. She will give you little tasks and provide tools. That way, to can make some money and pay for your house straight away. Then, you should go to someone else's town and collect a load of foreign fruit. Also, collect flowers. I'm very jealous of you. Enjoy, and be sure to check in here.

I like your house--especially the space room and vaguely unnerving basement. And I really like the way you have those trees staggered along the walkway. That's such a good idea. You also have a nice little park area in the middle section between the two river bends.
You could try working with your flowers a bit: you've got a ton of them and plenty of nice hybrids. They might look even nicer a bit more organized. And there are still some interesting public works projects you could consider in some of the less developed areas of town.
Just out of curiosity, how much of a return do you get from selling the crowns? I know they're real pricey. :X
I think it's like 500k and 600k or something for the crown and royal crown respectively. If they're on premium, otherwise it's half that. Something like that.
That's kind of shitty. :\
I've only gotten the royal one myself and the other one I just cataloged it. Doesn't seem worth selling for that amount though. :X

Anyways, today I planted some cedar saplings but of course I totally forgot that they can't grow in the southern parts. I think it was Westraid who posted about that a few days ago. Not sure why I didn't listen. :<

About 10 lol. It's cause my camp is in the southern part and I wanted to give it a forest-y surrounding. Also wanted to play some cause they get decorated with lights later.
Samesies. I impulse shop a lot but then end up selling back the stuff I just bought so...
I've been beetle farming for the past few weeks so I'm slowly getting up there. It'll take a while but we'll get there!

Starting to beetle farm again for bells as well as grinding for those bug catching badges. Not bad getting 300k for a full load from the island. The money I get from that will go towards fully building an alt house that will be a holiday theme.
Also someone I streetpassed turned one of the rooms in their house into a trophy room, complete with bug off/fishing tourney trophies, villager pictures, HHA stuff. It was so cool.

I didn't even know that was an island exclusive item. Like some people here , I'll also do some island hoping tomorrow if you still haven't found one by then.
I'd love to see some screens of that trophy room as well for inspiration. I now use my western room to show my villager pics and some of the trophies I have are in random places in my house. Or even in storage

I think Saharah is stalking me, found her at my doorstep like this. Blocking my way in even. And doing some dancing with Lobo in my western room. Hopefully he now understands that I want his pic in that room as well.
