so... how many units did capcom ship for gaist crusher? are there any estimates?

Kinda unrelated but according to that xyo site Bloodmasque has 97k downloads on the iOS. The thing costs 6 euro (not including any promotion). So altogether Square made 582k euro from the game. I wonder if that game payed for itself.

it was free for a week

also don't forget about apples cut... they take like up to 30%(?). Although I am not sure how much they take exactly.

also just toyed with the hardware graphs:
linecompare.php

(I hope I used it correctly)
With some help thanks to the holiday-boost, the wiiu might actually overtake the ps3 again.

And then in January it falls back to behind again and never again crosses PS3 line.
so what?

Wastes hours checking old Famitsu software data, but that's why we love him.
If Comgnet is somewhat accurate we are going to see a big debut for Puzzles and Dragons and a good Wii U/SM3D World week.

I know it's just one flop, but I do wonder what the future of Capcom's support for the 3DS is like after this

Same as the PSP post MH success. Monster Hunter, Monster Hunter expansions and Monster Hunter spinoffs

Maybe another Ace Attorney, considering it sold pretty good.

Lack of a follow up to SSFIV3D is the most baffling since that not only did quite well in JP, but did it not outdo the PS3 version (the original SFIV even)?

You'd think Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 3D Edition would've been a lock, or Street Fighter X Tekken 3D Edition, but no, and those cratered in Japan didn't they?

But it was a launch game (right?), and launch games always benefit from a non-existing library

Samurai Warriors Chronicle demonstrates the launch bump pretty nicely. Didn't translate at all to the sequel.

True, that really helped, you'd think Capcom would've been very happy with that.

If Ultimate Marvel and Tekken bombed, what would they follow it up with? Vanilla Marvel? Arcade edition?

3D World got 54pt last week while GE2 got 32pt. I thought the WiiU sales would be stable or decline (due to bump by DQ), but it looks to me like these numbers indicate an increase. Anyone know why DQ suddenly fell off the chart other than it not being popular in Comgnet stores? Comgnet numbers last week did show GT6 selling more than twice as much as both versions combined.

Both DQ completely fell off? Was that expected?

Mario seems to be holding really well, unless it's due mainly to December-Nintendo

Nobunaga's Ambition actually charted on something without the help of Pokemanz? Wow.

PDZ performance is really great
Now I hope it'll get localization somehow so I can try PD myself

Isn't that great? At least Nobunaga's Ambition line live on while RotK buried deep to the grave :(

The power of Mario... I think too many people wrote it off just because it didn't sell mega amounts in it's first week. I could easily see a holiday propelled Mario 3D World selling 400k in Japan and over a million Worldwide by the end of the year. Pretty amazing on an install base of just 4 million really.

Depending on how well it's pushing WiiU hardware we could see WiiU outsell 3DS in Japan next week but only if 3DS has a poor week ;).

So first week for PDZ should be around 500k if interpolation of the other Comgnet numbers can be trusted? Should be a solid million seller then, maybe end in the 1.6-1.8 million range.

Nah. 3DS will easily be the top selling platform this month. I do think Wii U might be a clear number 2, which I don't think too many people predicted.

I wouldn't bet on that. :p

Yeah true the most I could see WiiU selling next week is 80k but that is phenomenal considering it was selling 3-5k per week not long ago.

Hopefully sales don't immediately crater in mid Jan although I think there could be another big Nintendo Direct in the third week of Jan which will show a lot of new Kart, Smash, Bayo 2 and X footage so it could keep interest in the system up until DKC arrives in Feb.

Speaking of DKC, is it a decent seller in Japan ?.

For the people who aren't regulars in Media Create threads:

What is Tsutaya?
Tsutaya is a major retailer with 1,442 retail stores (610 that sell new games) all across Japan.

What is Comgnet?
Comgnet is the website for the retailer "COMG!" that has 17 retail stores across the Niigata Prefecture in Japan.

Why post these rankings?
They are released three days before Media Create + Famitsu + Dengeki give us nationwide sales, so we get a general indication of how well the games will perform relative to their competition.

How accurate is Tsutaya compared to nationwide retail tracking services?
It's large enough that it gives a very probable indication of future sales rankings, but it's not large enough to be definitive.

How accurate was Tsutaya's rankings last week?

Sure thing, I find it funny that old software still sells, <3Brawl<3.

Thanks !

The White Premium WiiU is outselling the Black one in Japan, I wonder if Nintendo have any plans to make the White Premium available in the EU or America. That's a really good deal aswell on the Japanese bundle - NSMBU, Wii Party U and a Wii Motion+ for the equivalent of $315. If Nintendo can bring that bundle to America at $249 some time in the New Year it would do pretty well imo.

Returns sold almost 1 million but that was on the Wii userbase. I would hope at least 200K is realistic.

Thanks for the info, I suppose the one thing WiiU has in it's favour over Wii is that the much smaller install base is starving for exclusive software to buy so DKC could do well.

Bit of a strange request but does anyone have Japanese software sales of the WiiU exclusives to hand ?. Wii Party U must be one of the top sellers above Mario 3D Land, Pikmin 3 and Wind Waker HD now.

*Sorry for double post.
