Edit. Instead of Boyd and Raylan going down different paths, it seems both men are becoming more o less the same type of person, mirror images of each other basically.

I've been on a Walton Goggins marathon lately. First I watched the complete The Shield series, then I moved on to Justified and watched all the episodes. I'm all set for new Justified episodes! I wasn't feeling season one but I'm glad I stuck with it.

You know when you think about it, Boyd and Ava's relationship is absurd.

Ava marries Boyd's brother. He abuses her, she kills him. Boyd comes to get revenge, gets shot by Ava's friends-with-benefits, Raylan, who also happens to Boyd's old friend. Then, he survives, comes groveling cause he wants redemption, and falls in love with his dead brother's widow who he tried to murder, and she falls in love with him, and at the same time, Johnny gets shotgunned in the gut, and then he falls in love with Ava, and backstabs Boyd so that he can get Ava.

The hell, Crowders.

I dont think Boyd ever tried to kill Ava though. In fact he didn't even seem to give that much of a shit about her killing Bowman, since he saw it as his chance to finally get with Ava
