  1. Team up with other fans and earn points by predicting plays
  2. These points will be used for leaderboards
  3. Updated remote with easier access to features
  4. Better fps with scrolling - 60 fps?

And here I got excited that they might have expanded supported provider models or something...

Disappointing. Guess I still won't be able to use it.

Any NHL support yet?

Until it has that, it's as useless to me as it is to Europeans.

Does this finally add the Tivo support they advertised way back before launch? I'm out of town for the holiday so I can't try it out.

In all honesty, Nintendo has precedent to promise something to be released in, say, October... and you have it the 31th, if not within the first week of November.

Something tells me they've stopped to care with the poor European sales, though.

The scrolling is so smooth now, this is worth the update already.

The new remote is slick also.

Good job Nintendo.

I know we're not missing anything but if Nintendo's going to have that TVii icon in the main menu for over a year and still not implement anything for it in an entire region, I think they should just remove it.

What is wrong with them?

Wii U home-screen, where I learned the truth about despair, as will you. There's a reason why this home-screen is the worst hell on earth... Hope. Every man who has ventured here over the last year in Europe has looked up to the Nintendo TVii icon and imagined watching TV. So easy... So simple... And like shipwrecked men turning to sea water from uncontrollable thirst, many have became bored trying. I learned here that there can be no true despair without hope.

I've been really down on TVii since launch but this is actually a nice update. Remote is great and the scrolling finally works. Neat. Won't use it, XBone, but glad they're still trying I guess.

i'm really liking the new remote. Tvii has been a huge help since I don't have a cable box in my apartment.

You can still use the Xbone as this only uses the GamePad.

Will this download automatically? I could probably have just checked in the time I took to write this...

I haven't even touched this yet.

That said, I do have subscriptions to Netflix and Amazon Video. Would TVii streamline these two together? I actually forget how it's supposed to work.

Ye, if you are searching for a movie/tv show, it searches cable TV, Amazon Prime, hulu, and netflix and presents it for you so you choose.

You basically search for a TV show and it asks you how you want to watch it, either TV, Amazon, Netflix, or Hulu. If the latter 3 it will close TVii and launch directly into those apps.

Ha ha, TVii...
I wouldn't care really, its more the fact Nintendo publically acknowledged we're not idiots and noticed this icon we havent been able to used since launch and said they're working on it, an we've heard nothing since.

If they give up on it, I hope they can just at least get rid of the damn icon, if not, or as well as, give us something to compensate for that.... (Fingers crossed :D)

I have a WiiU and have no idea what TVii is how it works. Can someone explain it to me as though I were a child? Do you actually watch live TV on it or is it a secondary screen with supplemental stuff? If it is live TV do I have to hook it up to my cable box?

TVii turns your Wii Gamepad into a fancy remote control for your TV and cable box, the Gamepad has the IR port built-in to send commands directly to your stuff. It includes a full searchable guide, and you can even search for movies that are on streaming services.

Interesting, thanks.

I didn't know it searched both Netflix and Hulu for a show....that's cool. I usually turn the Wii U on with the Gamepad and then my Tv and Stereo simultaneously through Tvii.

It's easy and faster than turning on the Tv and Stereo individually.
