Wii U Games 2013

Rumour: a French games journalist from the Gameblog website tweeted today from Japan, where he currently is, about an unannounced 2014 Wii U third party exclusive he's aware of:

He seems pretty excited.

Looks like he says it's in the vein of Bayonetta 2 but naturally a different game "license" (says Google).

CRY ON BY MISTWALKER MUTHA FUCKA!!!

They're usually stay on the plaza a week or two after release. Beyond that.. they disappear to never come back. I saw games like Injustice, Splinter Cell and Batman Origins ONCE amd I use my Wii U almost every day.
I assume it changes in every region tho.

Right now I have:
Nintendoland
Pikmin 3
Super Mario 3D World
Wii Fit U
Sonic Lost World
Smash Bros Community
Wii Sports Club
Wind Waker HD
New Super Luigi U
Art Academy Sketchpad

Only 1 game out of 10 is not developed by Nintendo.
great relationship with third parties my ass lol
Yeah thats what Im talking about, who cares if its based on Miiverse popularity/posts, just put them in there, show third partys you care Nintendo!

Seriously though, is there any sign Mistwalker is actually working on something?

They want to work on Wii U according to the guy from MAQL who worked with them on Last Story and such. Never heard mention of other platforms. Not to mention, I was glancing in their twitter account, and when Wii U is mentioned, they ask how fans are enjoying it, never recall them asking that about other platforms.

Edit: Also I asked the guy if Nintendo is publishing the game, seemingly yes:

He's not answering when we might hear about it.

Hopefully he's not trolling us.

Another megaton like Bayonetta 2 would be delicious.

Cry On is my personal pick as it was like the 3rd 360 JRPG by Mistwalker, and somehow MS had no involvement, it was AQ Interactive who published it and decided to cancel the game.

And with The Last Story, Nintendo has a close relationship and after all the Wii U talk...

It's my fav game for them to revive and I think it has an honest chance of happening, now whether it will, that's the question.

Not to confuse with that I am certain that's the big tease, it's just I WANT it to be Cry On, it could be anything.

Devil's Third might be it, on the 27th an interview popped up at 4GAMER. Itagaki said that the game will definitely come out in 2014 and the game is about 80% done. He is fine tuning the game now.

As you may or may not know, the original publisher of the game didn't want it anymore so Nintendo might have snatched that up. Sounds familiar, doesn't it?

Hopefully! But I don't think there's enough evidence pointing to it. And everything thinks it'll be MS anyway who gets it (he is super close to them).

Bah. Believe it when I see. Can't bring myself to fall for this type of thing.

of course we should believe these things just when/if they are announced.
but I'd not be surprised to see more collaborations, they stated and proved that this will be their strategy to fill the lineup. not competing with proper exclusive moneyhats or multiplatform games (for financial reasons, I think), but looking for exclusive contents brought by partnership

there are different kind of partnerships too; up to now they closed deals for:

distribution (Monster Hunter 3 G Ultimate was probably due to this)
crossover (Hyrule Warriors or Fire Emblem x SMT)
publishing (Lego City Undercover and Bayonetta 2)
exclusives contents (Scribblenauts Unlimited with Nintendo characters)

I'd not be surprised to see other things coming in those terms

any thoughts about

Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Game
Ninja Gaiden 3
I liked NG3 for what it was. I was never too crazy about NGB and I've never even touched any version of NG2. I imagine that its pretty cheap by now anyways. It kept me occupied during the Wii U's launch window.

As annoying as I may sound (wished for this in basically almost every WiiU thread), hope it's Bayonetta 1.

It's not Bayonetta 1. The tweet clear says "exclusive game". In the replies, he mentions it's a Japanese publisher, and the the game is "kinda like Bayonetta 1, but it's a brand new IP".

Which game fits that bill?

So it's a new IP?

That could be anything. Maybe Mistwalker's making an original JRPG for Wii U.

People playing WiiU games off a portable hard drive, are the loading screens significantly shorter than from a game disk? Apparently the USB2.0 port is faster than the optical drive on WiiU.

I've never played a Mistwalker game before--do they make action RPGs? Because "like Bayonetta" is probably meaning a fast-paced action game.

The Last Story was nearly all action. However from the description it sounds like a character action game.

I bet the guy's talking rubbish though.

Not really a difference from what I've read.

Two copies sold? That's not a bomb guys, stop trolling!!!
Is he the same guy who works closely with Japan and posted, even before Famitsu, the debut results for Wii U in Japan? In that case, I could believe him.

Just searched...it's not him.
So...what do we know about him? Can he be considered reliable?

Are we really expected to see Zelda in 2014? I don't think so, I think the Hyrule Warriors is meant to keep those of us that only buy Ninty consoles for Zelda games at bay for awhile.

I expect it to be announced in one way or another at E3 (hopefully in a press conference this year). Then more information in some Nintendo Direct broadcast during the autumn. Release in early 2015.

I agree, but probably not so early, in 2015

Guys, which bundle is the best value for me?

The one with Nintendo land costs like 80 dollars less than the Mario and Zelda ones in Mexico but Nintendo Land doesn't appeal much for me because I won't play local multiplayer much amd Iwas planning to get 3D World fpr that need.
i haven't played WW but the bundle beingdigital is not for me.
I liked NSMB2 a bit but felt like tje levels had lazy design and were a bit too short but U looks a bit better and has challanges.

I really don't know whoch one to get, I may end.up getting the NintendoLand one but I don't know of it will still be fun with two players only oncassionaly and if it has enough single player content to keep me entertained for days until school starts again.

Regardless of my decision I'm buying Mario 3D World so help me please guys, I can't decide.

I like the idea of nintendo publishing 3rd party games....

And looks like they're paying for the "hardcore content" they missed on the wii days

But i wish nintendo itself took a shot at this, trying some action games for a change. I cant enjoy Xbox/Ps shooters because they are terrible, but maybe nintendo is the one to fix em

The Wonderful 101 is one of the best action games of 2013.

If the decision is purely cost: in america at least, buying the discs nsmbu + luigi is 3 times as expensive as a nintendoland disk and almost twice as much as zelda, so it might be the most cost-effective.

Nsmbu is fairly challenging.

Nintendoland has some single-played stuff. Probably good for a day or two of entertainment.

Next year, in stores... Seriously, the game just came out, give it time to sell.

oops :X I mean I already have the game and the WiiU

but looking at the amount of praises it has received, it's the perfect time to move some units with the game
