I just buy VC3E2-Edition yesterday for its English patch, now the Type-0 one is nearing release?

What a great way to start off 2014.

I don't think that's for release, it's for the main story translation being complete?

Will need to get the game soon I guess either way. Now let's see a patch for Growlanser 1 PSP.

NeoGAF spying on me. Yes progress is going quite smoothly. I'm amazed it picked up the way it did this past month.

-----------

Doesn't really matter what Square does. They aren't ever making this available in English on the PSP. Which is Operation DOOMTRAIN's aim.

Holy shit, can 't wait.

Will probably play this translation even if there is an offical version. You guys have no idea how much I appreciate the translation for this game (and for VC3).

just finished ryu ga gotoku 5, & now have valkyria chronicles 3 up'n'running. these fan translation/guide folks can't be thanked enough. y'all allow me to play the games i really want to play...

Still can't believe SE would not localize a FF in this day and age (well, I can see why-nobody buys PSP/Vita games, but still)

God bless these localizers

Remember to do backup and what not.

Even if Square wants to step in and issue a C&D, we can have a 98% translated copy.

In the worst case scenario we can still release a translated script. As for Square's current plans, they are all about FF Agito for Mobile right now.

I can't wait to put all of this into the Type-0 wikipedia page on how the game was localized by fans, kind of like Mother 3.

This still requires you to actually somehow have gotten hold of a japanese UMD, no?

"Somehow?"

There are plenty of copies on sites like ebay and Amazon. Or you can go through an import shot like Playasia or the many others. Or you can just import it directly from a Japanese site use a proxy service like dv8cag or White Rabbit for shipping.

It's not hard to import games, and especially not one as popular as this. But yes, it will require you own the game. PSN copy should work too though, but you will probably have to decrypt the eboot into an iso anyway so it's ultimately the same in the end.

Nice! I'm even happier I decided to "re-obtain" a PSP earlier last year!

Damn it Square Enix though... If they werent too focused on damn mobile games, they should be easily able to see people WANT Type-0. I'm not even sure... have Square Enix done ANYTHING for Vita yet? (Oh just remembered FFX HD is upcoming) Its maddening, Square Enix were a real highlight of the PSP, why don't they want anything to do with Vita (Well... sales), but they'd push them! Many of my favourite games on PSP were Square Enix! Birth by Sleep...Crisis Core....Dissidia... to name just a few. Then theres some games I never got to trying like 3rd Birthday and obviously Type 0...

Would really love to see Square Enix put an effort for Vita this year. To me personally, if anyone can push Vita sales, Square Enix is one of the biggest people who can do it.

ugh, couldn't you have waited until it was done before you posted it?

Besides, it's not going to be in three weeks, they'll no doubt be editing afterwards, even if they keep up the same pace

"Dust off your PSP" is all I needed to hear. Though my Vita's been getting a lot of use recently so no worries there haha.

I think this is worthy news to post. The last I heard it wasn't estimated until Summertime and that was only 2 or so months ago.

This is great news.

This and VC3 so far, all I need is The Last Ranker and my top 3 most wanted Japanese PSP games in English list can be updated.

SE will screw this up for us, I am excited but I know where its heading.

They should keep under their hats until they are finished, otherwise SE will step in and close it down.

Even if it does, I hope they release it as a big "fuck you" to Square for taking so long.

Been sitting on a official translation and can't even put it on PSN to make a little money? Sorry, but *tinyviolin.gif*

Minority.

Type-0 is widely regarded as one of the best Final Fantasy released in the recent years, at least from fan reception.

Everything I've read and heard gives it a reception not dissimilar to Bravely Default and TWEWY. In other words it is a part of the group of Square games that live up to their heritage.

So?

They'll still do a passthrough to make sure the two teams translations flow together.

they've probably been doing similar throughout the translation, and I'd imagine one of those 3 weeks would be dedicated to that.

So much negativity in here! O.O. I totally forgot SE had a Type-0-sort-of-ish mobage game coming out. I'd rather play this PSP version, tbqh.

I do have a question though -- I seem to remember early in this projects life, it required the UMDs. I have a PSPgo....could I buy the digital version off PSN and use that? (Worse comes to worse, I do have a PSP-1001 that still works well enough to make an ISO of an imported UMD)
