1. The witcher 3
2. The Order
3 Watch dogs
4. Destiny
5. Second son
6. Dying light
7. Quantum break
8. Titanfall
9. EA UFC
10. halo 5

1. Super Smash Bros. : Should be pretty self-explanatory. If it has competent online I'll put in close to 1000 hours.

2. X : Finally finished Xenoblade this year and have watched the X trailers dozens of times ever since. If the game consists of having Xenoblade-like combat with online co-op I'll be extremely happy.

3. : Halo 5 : Like most, I thought Halo 4 was simply alright for a Halo game. That said, Halo is still one of my favorite series ever so I can't help but look forward to 5.

4. The Witness

1. Monolith Soft's X: The make-or-break Wii U game for me. If this game lives up to Xenoblade's greatness it will be a glorious thing. Xenoblade is easily my RPG of the generation so I have very high hopes for X. I really can't wait to see how it turns out.

It's a short list this year, as I'm planning to clear some backlog and do some reruns of games.

1. South Park: Stick of Truth (X360)
2. Hotline Miami 2 (Vita)
3. Trials Fusion (X360 or PS4 if ever in supply again)
4. OlliOlli (Vita)

1. Super Smash Bros. for Wii U : Super Smash Bros. is the best, and the Wii U version is bound to be a blast. I just hope it isn't another Brawl...

2. Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze : DKCR was fantastic and, in my opinion, even better than the classic DKC games. I have no reason to assume Retro won't knock it out of the park again with its sequel.

3. Shovel Knight : Classic Mega Man-style platforming on modern consoles with HD? And extra playable stories to boot? I'm sold. I WAS sold quite a while back when I backed the Kickstarter.

4. Homestuck Adventure Game : Who knows if it'll actually make it out this year, but whenever it DOES make it out it will no-doubt be a treat. One of the best writers of recent memory making a video game sounds like fun to me!

5. Bayonetta 2 : Bayonetta was fantastic, and there's no reason to assume its sequel won't also be. Plus Wii U owners get to rub it int he face of all the Wii U haters!

6. Mario Kart 8 : Mario Kart 7 did a lot to polish the unbalanced Mario Kart Wii, and 8 will likely be an expansion on that excellent formula, complete with couch multiplayer and probably more unlockables. I hope it solves every problem 7 had!

7. Kirby Triple Deluxe : Another Return to Dream Land-style game? You sold me instantly. Plus, new abilities and new returning abilities! Wheeeeel!

8. Super Smash Bros. for 3DS : It's Smash Bros., so it will no-doubt be fantastic. I don't think it will quite live up to its Wii U counterpart, but we'll see.

9. Professor Layton and the Azra Legacy : The final chapter in the Layton series! Will no-doubt be really good and is likely to make me feel strong emotions.

10. Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney : I've heard this game isn't spectacular, but still! It's a crossover between two of my favorite video game franchises, I can't help but get hyped!

1. Super Smash Bros : The Return of my favorite MP game
2. Dark Souls 2 : Preparing to die all over again
3.MGSV: Ground Zeroes : The next chapter of MGS is always worth being excited about
4. Alien Isolation : Goes for the original Alien feel which is nice to see.
5. Titanfall : I don't even like MP, but this just looks to good.
6. Evolve : Love the concept of 4 versus 1 especially since a creature is involved.
7. Bayonetta 2 : One of platinums best getting a sequel is great.
8. X : Looking like just the RPG the WiiU needs
9. Infamous Second Son : THe improvements to the series looks to make it the best yet 10. Witcher 3 : Really want to see how the story ends

1. Dark Souls 2 <- Love Dark Souls so damned much. Can`t wait for DS2!

2. Last Guardian <-please;)
3. Walking Dead
4. Persona 5
5. Metal Gear Solid 5
6. Witcher 3
7. Destiny

  1. Destiny: FPS RPG co-op fun with larger integrated multiplayer elements. Large scale. Proven dev.
  2. The Division: Third person RPG co-op fun with integrated multiplayer elements
  3. inFAMOUS Second Son: Liked the series. Pretty. Plug early year game drought. Shown gameplay seems 'off'. Probably due to inexperienced players
  4. Dragon Age Inquisisition: Loved Origins. Hated second game. Hopeful devs learned lesson and have something to prove.
  5. The Witcher 3: Hype. Love action RPGs. Never played 1 & 2. Need more info.
  6. Watch Dogs: Hype. Integrated multiplayer. Hacking looks too simplistic. Possible boring gameplay.
  7. Planetside 2: MMOFPS on console. Free so why not. Plug game drought pt II. Worried devs removed strategy elements that made PlanetSide 1 fun. Possible grind gameplay.
  8. The Order 1886: Hype. Pretty. Possible co-op. Third person shooter fun. Worried 'filmic experience' > gameplay and corridor design.
  9. The Elder Scrolls Online: Like console MMORPG. Great series history. Not sure worth the subscription which moves it down list.
  10. Dying Light: Co-op zombie fun. Unconvinced devs can make great game. Not huge fan of survival horror.
More that didn't make the cut.

  • Deep Down: Co-op. Love fighting monsters. Worried corridors only. Limited game scope. Need to see more gameplay
  • Drive Club: Love the pretty. Free with PSN+. Not so interested in straight driving. Wish more like MotorStorm.
  • Octodad: Hype. Expect to be inexpensive so why not give it a try?

I dont exactly have a game that I am super stoked as I had for last year but I guess I shall put everything in order from my general interest

1. Star Citizen - So much promise and so much funding going into this game. It is not allowed to fail.
2. Dark Souls 2 - Loved demons and dark 1.
3. Infamous Second Son - Loved the first two but I admit that I never finished the second one.
4. Titanfall - This was one of my top ones for interest but it died off with the last few showings and now with the 6v6 mention.
5. Witcher 3 - I really enjoyed witcher 2 and 3 looks like its shaping out to be great.
6. MGS 5 - I have played every MGS and will continue the tradition with 5
7. Wasteland 2 - Looks cool
8. Pillars of eternity - Looks very promising
9. Dragon Age: Inquisition - Loved DAO and hated DA2. I pray they learned from their mistakes. I am cautiously optimistic but screenshots and video that I've seen so far have my concerns back up.

1) Dark Souls 2 I'm playing through the first Dark Souls now and it's one of the best games I've played. It bucks the trend in so many ways and I'm glad that From are making games like this.

2) Titanfall I will be playing the 360 version if this game turns out well. It seems to make some interesting changes to the average multiplayer shooter.

3) Wolfenstein Again I'll be playing the 360 version if I decide to get it. FPS is my most played genre and from what I've seen this looks like a solid, if not groundbreaking, take on the genre.

1. Dark Souls 2 : The souls franchise has become one of my absolute favorite franchises ever. I cannot wait to jump into DSII. Dual wielding is finally viable! Now i can be the crazy berserker I always wanted to be in a souls game. I shall name him YOLOSoul. I am really looking forward to discovering the details of the story as well. I'm hoping for a prequel :D

2. Wildstar : Everything I see about this game amkes me excited. I love the humor, I love the art, I love the comabt system and I love the pathing system. I cannot wait to jump in and play as a maniacal spellslinging cowboy gremlin

3. Dragon Age Inquisition : My heart wants to beleive this is the sequel Origins deserved. The thought of playing as a Qunari makes me squee with anticipation and joy.

4. Order 1886 : Mustache porn + Victorian England + Tesla weapons = Sold

5. Uncharted 4 - In my heart of hearts I hope for a Sully Uncharted. Make me happy ND: give me pirates and epic mustaches.

6. Destiny : I was never a huge fan of Halo but I have probably sank more time in Borderlands than any other game this console generation so anything that borrows fromt hat formula has me excited. The sci-fi is just icing on the cake. I've been itching for a good SciFi rpg since Deus Ex: HR

7. Rime : If I knew nothing about this game but the screenshots that were shown this would still be among my most anticipated games of the year. The art in this game is frankly captivating. It will be mine.

8. Metal Gear Solid 5 Ground Zeroes : Red Dead Redemption + Mullets + Kojima = OMFG SO MUCH WIN

Assuming Zelda Wii U is 2015,

1. Mario Kart 8 : love MK
2. Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze : I finally played DKCR on 3DS (damn you waggle!) and it was excellent.
3. New Yoshi's Island : DS was great (I still don't get all the flak it gets), so I trust this will be as well
4. Kirby Triple Deluxe : it's Kirby
5. Shantae and the Pirate's Curse : hopefully not overpriced as the 2nd one
6. Super Smash Bros 3DS : I never played Brawl (only got it for my collection), but I figure if it's in a handheld I will play it
7. Grand Theft Auto V (PC) : I don't like GTA games much, but they are fun to fool around for a few hours. Missions put me to sleep.
8. Yoshi Yarn : I don't trust Good Feel much after Epic Yarn (which I liked as I love 2D platformers, but it was pretty average overall)
9. Ace Attorney VS Professor Layton : never played a Layton but fan of PW
10. Chibi-Robo! Photo Finder : as a Chibi Robo fan I'll have to get it, probably wait for a sale just to spite Nintendo and their stupid account system

Others: Shovel Knight, Shantae Half-Genie Hero
Also the Captain Rainbow fan translation NEEDS to come in 2014... heh.

1. Evolve : The asymmetric multiplayer sounds amazing.
2. Titanfall : 6v6 is too much.
3. South Park: The Stick of Truth : I know it's never coming out.
4. Destiny : Halo Borderlands, looks great.
5. Watch Dogs : Blacklist was awesome, so this might be too.
6. The Witcher 3
7. Dark Souls 2
8. Wolfenstein
9. Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2
10. Dying Light

1) Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeroes: It is making me purchase a PS4.

2) Gravity Rush 2: First was pretty Solid and hopefully the second can expand on the unique universe.

3) The Evil Within: First Horror Game in a long time that has me generally enthralled with its atmosphere.

4) Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeroes: 2nd mention because I will be remote playing the bejeezus out of it on my Vita and newly purchased PS4. (Joke Re-Mention)

5) Bravely Default: Seems like a very quirky and neat RPG for 3ds with the neat town building feature. (Also read a possible sequel is in the works and would like to see that make it here at some point [USA])

Short list, but I am a new Dad.

2. Dark Souls II : After I got the hang of the first, I'd really like a sequel.
3. Bravely Default : Reminds me of the PS era Final Fantasy's.
4. Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD : Haven't played it, but I have found a lot of good games through HD remakes.
5. The Order: 1886 : Great atmosphere, hope it's not as "filmic" as the developers let on.
6. Alien: Isolation : Always been interested in first person horror.

Hopefuls: Majora's Mask 3DS, The Last Guardian, Crash Bandicoot reboot

1. MGS Ground Zeroes : Despite the weird twists and turns of the series, I always love MGS games and can't wait to play this mini-entry.

2. Bravely Default : The demo has me hyped. Finally a game that's like the old school Final Fantasy games.

3. Watch Dogs: My hype was deflated after the delay but I'm still eagerly looking forward to Ubisoft's open world hacking game.

4. Hyrule Warriors : Dynasty Warriors meets The Legend of Zelda? Sign me up.

5. Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney : Of all the recent crossover games this one has me the most excited.

6. Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy : This reminds me of a puzzle. What game series do I keep coming back to with its annual installments?

7. Super Smash Bros. Wii U : I love Smash Brothers simplistic fighting and Nintendo fan service.

8. Persona 5 : I loved Persona 4 and am looking forward to the next entry by the team. This would be higher up but the lack of details keeps me from being more excited.

9. Final Fantasy X & X-2 HD : I really loved X and X-2 back in the day so I'm looking forward to playing them again.

10. Lightning Returns : I'll probably regret it but I want to see how the XIII storyline ends.

1. Dark Souls II : The sequel to one of my all-time top 5 games.
2. The Witcher 3 : Loved Witcher 2, like that this is new-gen only, open world is exciting.
3. Dragon Age Inquisition : More like the first game and less like the second, please.
4. Destiny : Gorgeous sci-fi with RPG elements, hope it lives up to its promise.
5. The Evil Within : Please be a return to classic survival horror.
6. The Walking Dead Season 2 : This counts since 80% of it is a 2014 release, right?
7. Dying Light : Had a lot of fun with the first Dead Island, willing to give this the benefit of the doubt.
8. Castlevania Lords of Shadow 2 : If it's as enjoyable and beautiful as the first game, I'll love it too.
9. Halo 5 : Not much to go on yet, but the expectation is there.
9. Titanfall : The concept of a multiplayer-only game makes my eye twitch, but I trust the reactions of people who've gotten a taste.

Note that if Fallout 4 is announced for this year, it immediately moves to #1 and everything else moves down a notch.

1. Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U - It's a new Smash Bros. game. And I'm currently living with my two best friends. It's gonna be amazing.
2. South Park: The Stick of Truth - It looks like the show, like every part of it. Can't wait to get into it.
3. Destiny - mmm. Bungie.
4. Thief - More of that Dishonored-type greatness, plus I loved the original games.
5. Watch Dogs - Been waiting for this for a while, but I'll be playing it on Wii U.
6. Infamous Second Son - mmm. Sucker Punch.
7. Kirby Triple Deluxe - I'm a sucker (ha) for Kirby.
8. The Division - I really can't wait to see what this game can do.
9. X - About to dive into Xenoblade so hopefully I'll enjoy that and this.
10. Titanfall - I'm really digging the COD meets Mirror's Edge type gameplay, so we'll see where it goes.

1. Persona 5 : Loved Persona 4 Golden, and I'm excited to see what the team does next on PS3.
2. Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney :
3. Bravely Default : If the demo doesn't sell you on this, then all of the positive impressions about the game should. It sounds like it has everything, a deep story, interesting combat, and nice 3D graphics.
4. Yumi's Odd Odyssey : Umihara Kawase may finally make her way to the West with this feature-packed farewell game.
5. Watch_Dogs : The idea of a living city with named individuals that you can mess with through hacking is still interesting to me.
6. Titanfall : On-foot combat looks fast-paced, like Brink done right. Mech combat looks seamless and potentially game-changing.
7. Infamous Second Son : I'll admit that the past two Infamous games didn't exactly impress me, but what they've shown so far of ISS has certainly intrigued me.
8. Super Smash Bros. for 3DS : It's interesting to see Nintendo develop two versions, which look quite different from each other, in tandem. It should be a winner if they can pull it off.
9. X : Hop into a mech and fight enormous monsters, what more do you need?
10. Star Citizen : I'd put this higher, but I've already pledged, which has tempered my hype for it. It looks amazing, and the scale they're shooting for sounds enormous.

I really like your list and talking about DA Inquisition I totally agree with you. I really want this game is good, but ...

9. Dragon Age Inquisition: I'm excited but a bit worried.
I played DA1 forever, didn't even touch DA2 so what's this going to be? The creative director is the same behind DA2 and ME3, not a good piece of news to me, but I don't want to hold any prejudice and have great expectations. It seems this wants to be BioWare redemption, I really hope it will, in spite of who is in charge...

Well they seemed to acknowledge that they hurt the franchises. I attribute the issues with DA2 and ME3 with the dev/publisher being more interested in a cash grab on the cheap then trying to make a good game. I'm hoping that they realized that in the long run that is financial suicide.

However I have been burnt by mediocre games too often, and I have a nice backlog of games to still play. I have surprised myself in my new found ability to not preorder games and to wait for the reviews, if not the inevitable price drop. For example, I haven't bought The Last of Us or GTA 5 yet. I'm expecting/hoping those two to hit the PS4 this year so I have some more heavy hitters to look forwards to.

Everything below inFAMOUS Second Son that isn't free on my list is a wait-and-see. While I am interested in DA2, it is going to take a lot of good game impressions from users for me to buy it. Unfortunately that is the damage that has done to the franchise. At one point a Dragon Age or Mass Effect game would have been an instant preorder. Not any more.

1. Titanfall: I like mechs and techs
2. Halo 5
3. Quantum Break
4. D4
5. Project Spark: Me and my bro have playing around with the beta and like what we see

1. Persona 5: 3 & 4 are some of my favorite games of all time, immensely hyped for the long awaited sequel.
2. Super Smash Bros. Wii-U/3DS: Favorite Nintendo franchise. Bought a Gamecube for Melee, Wii for Brawl, this one is no different. Also Smash on the go!
3. Metal Gear Solid V Ground Zeroes/Phantom Pain: Next MGS title(s), I trust Kojima to make rights with what was wrong in MGS4.
4. InFamous Second Son: InFamous 2 was fun as hell. PS4's killer app.
5. Destiny: Bungie has never failed me before. Hyped as hell for this game.

1. X: Monolith Soft are my favorite RPG makers with Baten Kaitos and the Xeno games. X looks to be my dream RPG with the open environments and systems of X with transformable mechs giving a great sense of scale as well as combat variety.

2. Smash Bros 4 Wii U: This would normally be #1 if not for X. I love local-multiplayer and am a big fan of Nintendo franchises. I loved Brawl and its ridiculous amount of content.

3. Bayonetta 2: I love the art style of Bayonetta. I just got the art book from Amazon.

4. Smash 4 3DS: The reason why this is lower is I'm not sure how the zoomed out camera of Smash will work on such a small screen. One of the best parts of Smash gameplay is being knocked great distances but recovering.

5. Professor Layton vs Ace Attorney: Enjoy both franchises and am very interested in this crossover. I like that that the length appears to be long as well as Shu Takumi's involvement. Happy to see older Luke as well.

6. Lily Bergamo: FSR, Killer 7 and the NMH series are some of my favorite games ever. While his last few haven't been amazing Killer is Dead was a step in the right direction. Like that their using the NMH artist again.

7. Drakengard 3: Love how messed up this series is. Also like it being an action-RPG.

8. Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy: The final game starring Prof. Layton. Layton 7 for mobile looks horrible.

9. Hyrule Warriors: After playing Orochi 3 and One Piece Pirate Warriors (Gundam in the future) I love how fan-servicy these games are. Hoping for multiple characters like Impa, Ghirahim and Midna.

1. Dark Souls II : Absolutely loved Demon's and Dark Souls on the PS3, even double dipped on Dark Souls on the PC for the Prepare to Die Edition's DLC and for the ability to mod the game (which is beautiful).
2. Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD : My second favourite Final Fantasy game (X that is) with VIII being my favourite.

They are definitely my top 2. I have others that I am interested in such as Titanfall but there's no way I can list them in correct order, nor shall I even attempt to.

1. Dark Souls II : I just want more. More bosses. More great level design. More of the awesome art style. More of getting my ass kicked.
2. South Park - The Stick Of Truth : If those Game of Thrones inspired Black Friday SP episodes were any indication.
3. The Order 1886 : Ready at Dawn's first non-portable game. If those God of War PSP games are anything to go by, this could be something amazing.
4. Destiny : I'm not much of a Multiplayer fanatic, but for some reason Destiny looks incredibly appealing to me.
5. inFAMOUS Second Son : The franchise with the tightest open world gameplay get's a next gen sequel? Siked!
6. Castlevania - Lords of Shadow 2 : Loved the first, especially it's presentation. Here's hoping Mercury Steam delivers.
7. Hotline Miami 2 - Wrong Number : Bloodlust.
8. The Evil Within : Mikami's making a new horror game? And it looks decent?
9. Mad Max: Avalanche is doing a Mad Max game. Enough info to get me excited.
10. Metal Gear Solid - Ground Zero : I have no clue what to expect, but it's a glimpse of a new Metal Gear Solid game.
