NeoGAF votes: Most anticipated 2014 game (voting ends midnight EST)

1. Persona 5 : Sequel to one of my favorite games, one of the best JRPG series remaining
2. Destiny (PS4) : Halo combined with Borderlands? I want to see what Bungie will do.
3. Infamous: Second Son (PS4) : Should be a showcase for what the PS4 can do.
4. Bravely Default (3DS) : This is out in the rest of the world but not in the US, it looks great
5. The Order 1886 : Does this have a date yet? I kept it off but others seem to have included it.

Everything else I am really looking forward to doesn't have a solid release date yet, but I'm also really looking forward to No Man's Sky, Uncharted 4, and Fallout 4. Also Diablo 3 - Reaper of Souls, but I assume that doesn't count even if it will be the first time the game is on PS4.

I didn't think this would be hard to narrow it down to 10, but it was. Started out with 18.

1. The Order:1886 - Went back and forth between Infamous and this, Infamous is a more sure thing because 2 was amazing and 1 was really good. But this has a great setting and is coming from a solid developer.
2. Infamous: Second Son - Day zero.
3. Destiny
4. Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes
5. The Witness
6. Driveclub
7. The Division
8. Transistor
9. Watch Dogs
10. The Witcher 3

1. Destiny: SPACE CAPES ALSO BUNGIE
2. Hyper Light Drifter: Already gave this game like $100 on KS. It looks amazing
3. The Witness: I still like Jonathan Blow
4. MLB 14 The Show: Next-Gen rounders! Wow!
5. FIFA 15: I have a FIFA problem, please help.
6. Watch Dogs: Please make the delay worth it
7. Everquest Next: I've never played an MMO before, this one actually looks cool
8. Transistor: The music in the trailer is amazing, but I didn't finish Bastion so who knows!
9. Evolve: Did i spell that right
10. No Man's Sky: Rock Paper Shotgun has this listed in their 2014 anticipated games list so give it a point dammit! If not then w/e this is my top 9

I'll buy all of these on PS4 if I can

1. Dark Souls 2: the Souls games are pretty much my favorite games to cone out of last gen, so I absolutely can't wait for this one.
2. The Order 1886: everything they've revealed about this game has impressed me, and RAD has a great track record, so this one is a must for me this year.
3. Titanfall: initial impressions seem really great, and I'm dying for another FPS to suck away tons of hours of my free time.
4. Diablo 3 Reaper of Souls: please, Blizzard, give me another reason to no-life your game. The removal of the AH and prospect of finding something other than garbage has me and my friends excited to hunt demons again.
5. Infamous Second Son: I've found the Infamous series to be rather enjoyable, and after seeing the footage of this one, I'm sold. The only problem with this game is that it's not already in my PlayStation.
6. The Division: after the stunning reveal this became an absolute must watch for me. After rumors about a delay began to coalesce, I've failed down my hype for it a bit, thus the relegation to sixth on my list.
7. Halo 5: While I wasn't a huge fan of Halo 4, I'm excited to see what 343I can do on next gen hardware.
8. Call of Duty: these games are my annual avenue to playing massive amounts of time with my more casual friends who have moved away over the years. As a way for me to connect with distant buddies, it's hard to beat.
9. Watch Dogs: I'm still looking forward to it, but my hype is but a shadow of its former self after later reveals failed to live up to the initial E3 showing. I'm hoping the delay allows for the game to shine when it releases.
10. Castlevania Lords of Shadow 2: I loved the first one, and the ending was so badass that the game's sequel has never been far from my mind. I must complete the quest!

1. SSBU - Sonic VS Megaman in 1080p.
2. Destiny - The real Halo 4/5
3. GTAV - PC = definitive version of the game. Didn't pick up last year because didn't want to play on toaster
4. SSB3DS - Portable Smash Bros? Sign me up.
5. Mario Kart 8 - Fun as hell from what I played at E3. Driving up walls and stuff adds much needed new dynamics to the game.
6. Titanfall - On PC (obviously.) this game will look amazing and be a lotta fun.
7. X - The free roam in this game looks incredible. Also it's a Mech-RPG. No brainer.
8. EverQuest Next - The building aspect of this MMO looks amazing. I can't wait to try it.
9. Hyrule Warriors - Will be great to see Link not be a candy ass for once.
10. Bravely Default - (it's at the bottom because it's basically out already. Great game.)

It's a short list, mainly because there hasn't really been another game announcement that looks remotely interesting. E3 should change this.

I'd put Halo 5, Zelda and FFXV on the list, but I highly doubt we'll see these games until 2015.

1. Bayonetta 2 - I like big butts and I can not lie.
2. Dark Souls 2 – I’m prepared to die all over again.
3. Mario Kart 8 - You’d think they’d all have full car licences by now.
4. Super Smash Bros – Who cares if it’s a N64 game, I’ll take what I can get you know.
5. Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes – I don’t even have to buy ZOE to play it!
6. The Evil Within – I hope the Residents are ready for the Evil that resides Within this one.
7. Kirby Triple Delux – Obesity sure is fun!
8. Donkey Kong Country Returns Tropical Freeze – If I don’t play this soon I could become rather Cranky.
9. The Witcher 3 – The next gen (current gen) game that could make me buy a next gen (current gen) console.
10. X – why?

1. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt; Next gen needs a damn good RPG, and this definitely fits the bill.

2. Infamous: Second Son; The other games were great, and this game just looks fantastic. Sucker Punch seems really confident with the new tech.

3. Dark Souls 2; Moreso for the dark fantasy aesthetic than anything. I love the flavor and atmosphere of Dark Souls and can't wait for more.

4. Thief; Seems like these guys have a passion for doing the series justice, even of development has been rocky.

5. Dagan Ropa: Trigger Happy; Excited to finally have this come to the States! Seems like an awesome Vita addition.

6. Titanfall; I'm not even getting it, but the game looks really fun. I mean...giant mechs.

7. Bravely Default; Another great RPG for the 3DS that will take too many hours to beat. Let's do this.

8. Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII; I'm blazing through XIII right now and am about to start XIII-2. I'm actually really enjoying it, so I'm looking forward to this.

9. Watch Dogs; My hype has died down a bit for this, but I'm still anticipating it's release. Great open world game with awesome style.

10. Octodad: Dadliest Catch (PS4); This game looks fucking hilarious.

Tears in the rain
1. Bayonetta 2: P*'s my favorite dev team. Bayonetta is my favorite stylish action game ever. This is the game I bought my Wii U for. Cannot wait.

2. Dark Souls II: The Souls series is one of the best IPs of the past gen, and I can't wait to despair some more.

3. The Evil Within: Shinji Mikami making a new horror game. What else can I say. Looks outstanding.

4. Alien: Isolation: It looks like the Alien game I always wanted. Amnesia-like game with a single Xenomorph? Oh God yes.

5. Persona 5: I am in love with every Atlus RPG, and P3/4 were brilliant standouts on PS2. Will they move back to darker themes, or stick to the newer formula? Who knows?!

6. Diablo III Ultimate Evil Edition: I loved the original DIII to bits, and the console version even more. So next-gen DIII with the new expansion sounds like heaven to me.

7. Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes: I love MGS. I can't wait for this...but I'm still not sure how much content there'll be here. It'd be higher, if I knew exactly what this was.

8. Destiny: Despite the always-online/forced multiplayer angle they are taking, this still looks like a brilliant FPS-RPG fusion. I'll loot the crap outta this world.

9. Hotline Miami 2: Nineties infused violence, with a soundtrack of the gen potential? Ah yiss, plug it in my veins.

10. Shovel Knight: The 8-bit Mega Man game Capcom refuses to release. The soundtrack always sound epic, and everything I've seen point to a labor of love

1.-Tales of Zestiria - I like that exploration will be an important aspect in this game
2.-Tales of Xillia 2 - The battle system is said to be better than Xillia
3.-Persona 5 - That image of the chains and the chairs makes it look interesting and will probably be a very good game like its predecessors.

I'm keeping the list short this time. I don't own a current-gen platform yet, and I'm planning to work on my last-gen backlog this year.

1. Fable Anniversary
I loved Fable II and enjoyed Fable III. I've never played the first one, so I'm really looking forward to playing the remake.

2. Super Time Force
It's still coming out on the 360, right? Seems like it's going to be one of the last big indie-games on XBLA. At least it's going out with a bang. :)

3. South Park: The Stick of Truth
I like Obisidian. I like South Park. Hopefully the game will turn out great.

(4.) Dark Souls II:
I haven't played the first one yet(it's in my backlog), but it seems like a franchise that I could enjoy.

  1. Freedom Planet: Admittedly, I think I'm more hyped for Smash, but this game deserves the extra point. I've been playing the alphas, and I think GalaxyTrail has quite the solid little game being made here; however, since indies have basically become as numerous as the stars in the sky and sands on the seashore, it's flying under many people's radars. I'd give it a look, if I were you. They're aiming for a Spring 2014 release date; possibly later.
  2. Super Smash Bros. for Wii U: It's a new Smash Bros. game, and hopefully one I can get utterly engrossed in like I did Melee and (to a lesser extent) Brawl. It certainly is already a nicer-looking title, thanks to a more colorful palette (and of course being in HD helps).
  3. Super Smash Bros. for 3DS: It counts, it counts, they're separate games. Portable Smash Bros. is pretty much all that needs be said. I might even wind up more addicted to it than the Wii U version, by virtue of portability, although the Wii U one's still the one I'm looking forward to more.
  4. Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney: It's more Ace Attorney. I know I've heard that the crossover elements are remarkably half-assed, and admittedly it's somewhat annoying that most of the courtroom music is just music from the first Ace Attorney all over again (especially after the awesomeness that was Dual Destinies' soundtrack), but it's still more Ace Attorney. Besides, it might be a decent introduction to Professor Layton (I mean, I played my mother's copy of Curious Village for like an hour, but that was years ago).
  5. X: I took to Xenoblade surprisingly well. Given that, if X turns out to be anywhere near as good, it'll handily be one of the best titles on the system (not like it has much competition, but still) - and that's worth having my attention. (I hope this is 2014, anyway...)
  6. Puyo Puyo Vs. Tetris: WHY IS THIS NOT COMING TO THE WEST
  7. Yumi's Odd Odyssey (or Umihara Kawase for the 3DS): SNES game was pretty cool, and here's the first English release for this game, so sure, why not?
  8. Mario Kart 8: I guess. Admittedly my hype hasn't been very high for this series since MKDS, but if it can be at least as good as MK7, that'll be enough.

I don't think I can fill out a full ten.

1) Persona 5: Persona 4 was so good, how can I not be excited?
2) Bayonetta 2: I never got the chance to play the original, but everything I've seen looks like a ton of fun
3) Super Smash Brothers for 3DS: A portable Smash Brothers I can play anywhere I go!
4) Super Smash Brothers for Wii U: An HD Smash Brothers sounds almost as good as a portable one!
5) Kirby Triple Deluxe: Kirby's Return to Dreamland on the Wii was a package of pure happiness.
6) Watch_Dogs: It's a new IP, which is refreshing, and the overall atmosphere looks intriguing.
7) Child of Light: A super beautiful platformer with an interesting story and a JRPG battle system? Sign me up!
8) Monolith Soft's X: Xenoblade's worlds were so grand and inviting... an HD game in the same style sounds fantastic.
9) Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze: Because it's Retro Studios.
10) Mario Kart 8: An HD Mario Kart with Gravity-defying tracks... sounds good to me!

Wait a second, Alien: Isolation is 2014, right? Time to update my list. Bye bye The Witcher 3, you can still be a fantastic sleeper hit of mine tho...
...that is of course if CDP actually makes the combat fun and gives it a biiiig overhaul to make it less stiff and removes the clunkiness from magic summons

We are allowed to post PC titles right?

1. X by Monolith Soft : Just look at the gifs, man. After playing Xenoblade (my first Monolith Soft game), I became a fan of these guys, and now they're bringing this baby out. I really hope they market this thing well, every single piece of media we've had so far has delivered.

I see the Smash Bros. crew is trying to fudge the results with a last-minute push by voting for it on two systems instead of one. How very shrewd.

Wow. Narrowing it down to 10 was harder than I expected. It's going to be a great year for games.

1. Pillars of Eternity - My favourite game of all time is Baldur's Gate 2. A similar style game by Obsidian? Yes please.

2 . Persona 5 - I bought Persona 3 for PS2 due to the GAF hype when it came out. I've bought all of the Atlas SMT games released since, as well as all of the PS2 SMT games.

3. X - Xenoblade was my favourite Wii game. I'm looking forward to the sequel.

4. Infamous: Second Son - I loved the first two and this one looks great too.

5. Drakengard 3 - One of my favourite PS3 games was NIER. When I heard of this game, it was an instant pre-order.

6. South Park: The Stick of Truth - I love Obsidian games and enjoy South Park. This game looks fun and hillarious.

7. Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes - I love Metal Gear games. It probably would have been higher but I'm not too sure about how much content is included. I hope it blows me away though since I enjoyed all previous MGS games.

8. Dark Souls 2 - l loved Demon's Souls and Dark Souls.

9. The Witcher 3 - The first two were excellent games.

10. The Order 1886 - The game looks interesting and I enjoyed the PSP God of War games. I'm looking forward to seeing what they can do on the PS4.

1. Castlevania Lords of Shadow 2: The first game took me by surprise. I'm hoping that the sequel manages to top it with great combat, gothic atmosphere, and another 'Oscar' soundtrack.
2. Titanfall: I just love the flow of this game. Mechs, fast movement and an interesting setting. I hope this MP game pulls me in like a TItanfall pulls in a dude.
3. Project Spark: Could be the next LittleBigPLanet.
4, Witcher 3: Open world monster slaying. Taking contracts and ghost busting sounds mighty good to me.
5. Halo 5: Supposed to be coming out this year right? Well, I'm hoping 343 manage to make such a good game that Halo 6 is sitting at number 1 on this list on the next go around.
6. Infamous Second Son: I;ve never been a huge huge fan of the series but I like them well enough to get excited. I;m expecting the graphics to blow me away.
7. Bayonetta 2: I don't own a wiiU yet but I think I'll have to when this baby comes out. Maybe.
8. Dark Souls 2: Yeah, I'm up for another round at one of the toughest series around.
9. Dragon Age Inquisition: Want to see the third entry and see what happens to all my favs characters.

1 InFamous Second Son: Love the franchise because of the controls and graphics. The next game looks to improve on these by leaps and bounds and might pack a great story too.

2 The Order 1886: sounds like my kind of game. Like the footage shown so far.

3 The Witcher 3: Is it confirmed for 2014? Hope so.

4 X: Beautiful art style shows us what the Wii U is capable of.
