I wish I had the next gen consoles to list more games.

1. Persona 5 - Persona 4 is one of my favorite games of all time and it made me easily like Atlus as a company. Never before has a press conference gave me as mixed reactions as the reveal of Persona 5. At the end of the night, it was well worth it.
2. Dark Souls II - Never played the original but I always meant to. The souls games always appealed to me and I believe they are excellent quality. This will be my first plunge into the series.
3. X - Successor of Xenoblade Chronicles, one of my favorite JRPGs and a game I thought would not get a sequel. This might persuade me to buy a Wii U.

1. x : i can't wait to see what monolith does with their next title. flying 'round in mechs seems rad
2. danganronpa : i've heard so much about it, and my vita could use another new game.
3. bayonetta 2 : the first was one of my favorite games from last gen. cannot wait for a sequel.
4. bravely default : i have been on an almost total blackout for this one. all i know is it's supposed to be like a ps1-era final fantasy... in a good way.
5. yoshi's new island : i liked yoshi's island ds, and i don't think this looks ugly. so i'm interested in trying it out.
6. mario kart 8 : i've rarely been disappointed by a mario kart. i hope the antigrav is worked into the level design in fun and clever ways
7. persona 5 : persona 4 was great. i kinda doubt the us will see it this year though.
8. donkey kong country tropical freeze : i just hope the level design is an improvement on dkcr's, but the improved control scheme already has me interested.
9. kirby triple deluxe : there's always room for some kirby
10. smash bros. 4 : i mean i guess

1. Persona 5: Persona 4 is my fav game of all time, just wish 5 was next gen.
2. Transistor: Bastion way my GOTY that year, I have all the faith in this game.
3. Hotline Miami 2: Terrified it won't click with me the same way again but I'm hyped.
4. Persona Q : I like the EO gameplay even if I think the chibi art is fucking horrific
5. Assassins Creed5?: I have liked every game in the series except for 1 and 3, I expect more very good but not great stuff at the very least.
6. Destiny: Would be #2-3 if not for the co-op focus. I just have crazy faith in bungie.
7. D4: Swery is a genius

1. X : My game of the generation was Xenoblade Chronicles, so yeah, I'm pretty excited for the follow-up on the Wii-U. In fact, that's one of the main reasons why I bought a Wii-U. Based on the trailers, the world looks massive and fun to explore with being able to fly and all.

2. Bravely Default : This game is out very soon, and it's already out in Europe, but... I might as well include it on my list since technically, it is one of my most anticipated games for 2014.

3. Dark Souls II : Loved the first game. Can't wait for the sequel.

4. Kingdom Hearts 2.5 HD REmix : Two of my favorite games of all time in one collection. Yum.

5. Final Fantasy X|X-2 HD Remaster : Can't wait for this! Gonna be really fun to play these again after so long.

6. Mario Kart 8 : I haven't been a huge fan of the recent Mario Kart games (disliked MK Wii and Mario Kart 7 was just.. alright), but this one looks really cool. And quite beautiful.

7. Smash Bros. (Wii-U) : Does anything really need to be said? Looks like it'll be a blast to play with friends.

8. inFamous Second Son : Loved the first two games in the series. Can't wait for this one.

9. Drakengard 3 : I've never played a Drakengard game before, but I did love Nier. So that's why I'm looking forward to this one.

10. Bayonetta 2 : I enjoyed the first one, and I imagine the second one will be just as fun and entertaining.

I'll be honest. I forgot this was ending tonight, so I cranked out this list in like 5 minutes. By tomorrow, the order might change or have new games entirely, but this is my mood right now. xD

1. Persona 4 Arena 2 - Arena left off on a few big cliffhangers that I'm eager to see resolved, and the new gameplay changes, characters, stages, and especially the music have me extremely excited.

2. Bayonetta 2 - It's the sequel to my favorite game, and would easily be #1 if I wasn't so eager to see how Persona 4 Arena 2 resolves Arena's cliffhangers.

3. Dark Souls II - Dark Souls was one of the most finely crafted games of last gen, and I'm excited to see how From can up the ante.

4. Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze - DKCR is my favorite platformer from last gen, and the sequel looks fantastic.

4. X - I haven't gotten very far into Xenoblade yet (only 18ish hours in), but X's setting and mechs look really interesting to me, and I like how X seems to be pushing the Wii U's hardware more than most (all?) other games at the moment. The possibility of online coop doesn't hurt, either.

5. Smash Bros 4 - Some small part of me still has high hopes despite how Brawl turned out. At the very least I expect it to fill my desire for a 2v2 fighter to play with friends, but I'd love for it to be a fighter that I feel is worth taking the time to really learn like Melee was.

6. Gravity Rush 2 - Just flying around and messing with the gravity mechanics was way more entertaining than it should have been. In some way, the first game really clicked with my desire to go skydiving someday, and I'm excited for more of that plus seeing the new stuff they add to the sequel.

7. Theatrhythm: Curtain Call - I've never played Final Fantasy for more than a couple hours throughout the entire series, but Theatrhythm is just such an enjoyable game with great music even for those that aren't fans of the series. I don't know how much they plan on changing, but even just more of the same would be fine with me (just preferably less grindy).

8. DanganRonpa - I don't know much about this game, and intend to keep it that way, but what I do know sounds right up my alley.

9. inFamous: Second Son - The first two games were highly enjoyable super hero games. I'm looking forward to seeing the series with a new protagonist and on new hardware.

10. Hotline Miami 2 - The first game was quite addicting, and I really appreciated how brutal the difficulty was. It really forced you to perfect your strategy based on how you were approaching the level (IE: melee weapons or guns).

No Persona 5 on my list because I highly doubt we'll see it in the US until next year, and I don't know Japanese. No Blazblue: Chronophantasma either because I already have the JP version on my PS3, though I am looking forward to playing the story mode. Bravely Default just missed the cut because I don't know much about it, and plan on keeping it that way to keep the game fresh for me.

1. Bayonetta 2: Long story short, I RAN for this one; can't wait.

2. Mario Kart 8: I played it at a Nintendo event, and I can't wait for more; looks gorgeous!

3. Super Smash Bros for Wii U: ROSALINA! Rosie seriously got me hyped beyond belief, and my CC Pro is ready!

4. Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze: Cranky Kong and the Kong-pow looks like a blast!

5. Super Smash Bros For 3DS: All my friends are getting it, so I will get it too so I can play with them, that alone excites me.

6. Armikrog: Fucking loved The Neverhood, and I put quite a bit on it! Seems to have a July 2014 date, so I am putting it on my list!

7. Broken Age: The latest trailer has me hyped. Will definitely buy when the full package is out.

Rushing it out:

1. The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky SC - Sequel to one of my favorite RPGs of the last few years, and one that ended in one of the most frustrating cliff hangers yet. Will be glad to have this in whatever form I can get it.

2. Dark Souls 2 - It's sequel to my OTHER favorite RPGs of the last several years, and they even both came out in the same year! Though the interest here is obviously more gameplay than story related.

3. Witcher 3 - Really may as well just call 2014 the sequel to 2011.

4. Bravely Default - One of the few non-FF RPGs SE has put out in the last few years, and going by the demo a really great one.

5. South Park: Stick of Truth - I want to see how Obsidian did with South Park.

6. Divinity: Original Sin - Pledged to the Kickstarter, and it sounds like it's going to recapture some of what made Ultima VII so beloved. Definitely want to check it out given I'll have an easier time getting into this than Ultima at this point.

7. X - I'd put this up there near the top but I'm not confident MonolithSoft will get it out this year.

8. Shovel Knight - Pledged for it, looks fun.

9. Wasteland 2 - Spiritual successor to Fallout 1-2, definitely want to check it out.

10. Atelier Escha & Logy - Still need to get through Atelier Ayesha, but this series within the series is one of the most interesting for me.

1. The Witcher 3 ; What Witcher fans can only dream of, open world roaming with Geralt!
2. Bayonetta 2 ; The best action game ever with a sequel!? Sign me up!
3. Dark Souls II ; Ready to enter the darkness again, and embrace the pain.
4. inFamous Second Son ; Smoke powers and Seattle = bliss.
5. MGSV ; It's MGS Red Dead style? Count me in!
6. Watch Dogs ; Invasions, and hacking voyeurism- I am more than intrigued!
7. Bravely Default ; The demo alone leaves me desiring this game- the job/ability combinations are a ton of fun to mess with!
8. Mario Kart 8 ; Always believe in the year of Rosalina!
9. Castlevania 2: Lords of Shadow ; Sprawling, open world-ish with a great combat system?
10. Destiny ; It's tiiiiime! Bungie's return!

x. EA UFC ; I forgot to add this title, but it should be right before #4 to be honest. I'm so excited to for a next-gen UFC title- please no Right stick striking controls!

Dammit. I'm ashamed of myself. I totally forgot about Trails in the Sky SC - that'd be near the top on my list. I blame myself because I kept putting off making my top 10 for the longest and waited until the last minute. Oh well. :p

1) The Evil Within: Shinji Mikami's is a god. Creator and innovator, infamously birthing and rebirthing the RE series.

2) MarioKart 8: MarioKart + FZero = awesome.

3) X: Monolithsoft's RPG opus looks fucking amazing. It looks 'that' worthy of the expletive.

4) The Order 1886: Steampunk + industrial era supernatural thriller. Count me in!

5) SSB3DS: the first ever portable SSB. I'm far more excited to see how this iteration turns out vs. the console brethren.

6) Alien Isolation: LowFi SciFi. Taking the vibe of the Ridley Scott masterpiece and creating a new narrative, filled in by isolation and terror.

7) Hotline Miami 2: Brutal, visceral and glitter drenched 80's twitch experience gets a sequel. Color me fascinated.

Dammit, looked over the rules and saw I should've used :s rather than -s. Well, hopefully that wasn't TOO much of a mess, and it's my fault for rushing it out anyway.

djtiesto

is beloved, despite what anyone might say
X - the sequel to my favorite game of the last 10 years. An expansive, HD RPG with mechs, large monsters, and developed by a team who has been constantly improving in quality and skill.

Hatsune Miku: Project Diva 2 - seems like there's already been a few Luka song announcements.

Persona 5 - waited a long time for this announcement, and it's nice to see it's gonna be on home consoles.

Bravely Default - I love classic throwback RPGs and this has everything I love in the genre - turn-based battles, random encounters, beautiful graphics, and a Job system

Bayonetta 2 - Sequel to possibly my favorite character action game ever, and one of the best games of this past gen.
