It's not a scam. Email directs to the official Titanfall website where you click a button to accept the terms (i.e.: won't post video on websites, talk about it on forums, etc). I didn't even have to log-in since I was logged in already....

EDIT: Based on the url, it looks like it's for XBONE Battlefield 4 owners...

Image won't upload, becoming more and more confused about the whole thing. I had the same e-mail address as the alpha invite send me my new password and e-mail request. Starting to think this may be legitimate.

If it is a scam, then titanfall.com is comprimised, possibly Origin, and whoever sent the email either has access to EA servers or has gotten Origin user data from EA.

SO, it is either a huge security breach that we should be worried as fuck about, or it is real as fuck.

As others said... Either some massive man in the middle hijack or its legit.

May be alpha and some rogue emails were sent and now there's a run on the bank but the site is real (as much as I can tell and test).

Yeah, I feel like the email was leaked early from an employee on an "unofficial" EA email by accident (or on purpose.) The site definitely seems legit.

Assuming it's legit, isn't it too late now for Alpha test? The game will be out in less than a 2 months.

Seeing as it routes to the official site and whatnot, it might be real. I've emailed EA to ask about this and will post whatever it is they say.

Wouldn't surprise me if it's real...and from the URL, they're targeting BF4 Xbox One owners, which is a logical move.

Well, went to the site, and signed up. Maybe tomorrow they are going to announce BF4 players on Xbox One get a chance at a alpha weekend?

Yea I think this is legit. If not then everybody better change their Origin password yesterday because a whole shitload of people just got their info compromised.

I'm not sure about the email, very well timed if it was a scam

Yeah that's what has me confused. But a lot of Gaffers jumped on this saying that there is no such thing as an alpha test (despite Battlefield 4 doing an Alpha test I think?). Users were quick to jump on this and say it was a scam (see page 1).

So I'm confused as hell. Here is who sent me the email me and my friend got:

EA EA@em.ea.com
reply-to: EA <support-b6jjyk3bgwmbfsau12386qs9882vmv@em.ea.com>

I didn't click mine, because I went to post about it on GAF first. My friend had clicked his and sent me screencaps. But after this thread, he went into full on panic mode and changed all his passwords on everything.

The initial reaction should always be to assume that it's a scam. There however is an actual part of the website where you can submit your 'application' that can't be found without directly entering the url. If it's a fake then they got a hold of the Origin emails, hacked the website, and Origin.

Someone fucked up and sent stuff out early.

Okay. Well, this is who sent me and my friend the email.

Wait and see. If it is legit, then EA and Respawn will make a statement soon.

Alright *shrugs*.

I asked some mods to close this thread, so I'm not sure if they will. Maybe they'll leave it open and edit the title to "Rumor" until it's confirmed. I just didn't want anyone else getting scammed after the replies I got on page 1.

My friend who did click the email and signed up, was sent to that page. And now when he clicks the link you posted, it says "You've already submitted". Congratulations, your application to participate is complete. If you are selected to take part in our upcoming test, you will receive an email in the coming weeks with a unique code and instructions on how to download and access the game on Xbox One. Thank you!

Even their official site calls it alpha. Only 2 months till they release the final build, it should be beta not alpha.

It's probably a beta but they're stating it's an alpha publicly so they don't get the usual "beta=demo" stuff. They had the alpha running up at the conventions(or was it pre-alpha?). Either way it's just them saying the version they're releasing is nowhere close to the quality of the actual game.

Looks like that em.ea.com address might be legit according to a semi-related battlefield 3 beta thread from 2 EA employee posts.

I think the email was real and your friend is probably fine. Nonetheless, that TitanFall.com link I posted is fo sho legit.

If this is real, they should allow me to take the download from the alpha/beta and download the missing files for the full game at launch so I'm not having to download the full game at launch. A pseudo preload.

That's not how it works.

Well I went through the process and then changed my password. I don't even own Battlefield 4 on Xbox One so.. yeah.

So is it scam or legit and if it is legit how do I get in?

Well, I didn't sign up for anything. I have an Origin account, and EA just randomly emailed me (assuming it's legit). The email was strange, because it didn't say it was for Titanfall. It was kind of mysterious and was like "Get access to an exclusive Alpha Test for an upcoming Xbox One Title" (Or just see OP).

And so my friend who is staying with me also got this email. He clicked it, and it took him to the official Titanfall site. However, it asked him to sign in to his Origin account (this is why I and others thought it was a Phishing scam). Once he logged in, he was able to fill out the form and submit it (the form that was on the official Titanfall site).

Currently, the verdict is up in the air. It sort of seems like a scam? Yet, there seems to be a beta on the actual official site (the same one tied to the email sent out). If it's a scam, it's pretty coincidental that they happen to send it out at the same time that we find out there is going to be a beta.

Plus as another poster just said, the email user that sent the email, was also used in the Battlefield 3 Beta. So who the fuck knows.

Is there someone to tweet so we can get the bottom of this? I'm sure as hell I don't want to miss this if it's legit.

Yeah, it's legit. I got a Madden email with this address: easports@em.ea.com and a Battlefield email with this address: Battlefield@em.ea.com in the past.

I noticed that when it took me to the pop up page of Origin sign in, my Norton gave me no warning and accepted it as real. I have lot's of anti phishing crap through my Norton. Screw it. I'm going in.
