Just saw the trailer and there are some "NOPE" situations there. Probably would be less stressful watching someone else playing it on Live from Playstation.

No Platinum no buy.

But it's free for ps+, so I'm gonna play it anyway, I guess.

What exactly is Insane mode? The game doesn't have combat, so what happens there? Enemy AI is much more aggressive when pursuing the player?

All those hours I've spent playing some of the greatest games ever made, wasted, because I didn't get a trophy.

I was wondering how they would do trophies in this game but they make sense I suppose. I hate scary games but I'm going to man up and give this a try

A true horror game (for trophy/achievement addicts.)

... Well, I guess most of the achievements have to be hard as hell and/or nerve wrecking to get too.

I would prefer it to have a platinum (can't really understand why a game wouldn't have one) but this is still a game that I really can't wait for. It's gonna have to be played with headphones plugged into the DS4 :)

I played through Outlast with my brother a few months ago, it was one of the scariest experiences I've had with a game. Not sure I'll play through it again, but I'm keen for some DLC.

Guys, the game isnt that scary, the game wusses out and gives you nightvision camera so you can see even when it's dark.

No platinum is a bummer, but is no means a deal breaker for me. I'm still really looking forward to checking this game out.

It doesn't work like that, it's dependent on game size, you can't give any game a full Trophy set. The game must be quite short/small, hence the base set.

Not sure that's true. Hotline Miami has a platinum and you can finish the core game in an afternoon. Not a big download either

I think it comes down to the game's challenge level and length. Then again The Walking Dead is the easiest platinum ever (just finish the game)

I think it's basically at the discretion of the developer really

dont mind about no plat trophy-if I did I wouldnt have sunk over 200 hours into warfame already

game looks absolutely incredible and will be a great way to scare the piss out of my friends when they come over

The game was way longer than I thought it would be, took us like 10 hours or so.
It's weird, this seems more AAA level yet no trophy and a PS+ freebie. Well whatever.

EDIT: Well, maybe not AAA, but like something that would have hit retail at any point this millennium, and seems like the kind of game that still could even if there would be crowing over it being a bomb. Contrast that with something like Guacamelee that would have been a handheld retail game at most.

I haven't bought this on PC, this works out for me. Bummer about the lack of platinum, but whatevs. I'm down for something spooky.

As a developer myself I can say it's not down to the developer, the game has to fit into the criteria set by Sony. I've not played Outlast so I don't know how big the game is, but Hotline Miami has a fair amount to it. Reasonably decent sized main game, lots of different weapons, different ways to play the game, in-depth ranking system etc. Outlast might be a much simpler game, perhaps more like Limbo or Thomas Was Alone in complexity.

And by size, I didn't mean download size! :)

Again, the game has complexity, online co-op, leaderboards, different ships.

If someone could say exactly what Outlast has to it, it might be easier to talk about.

It's not very complex at all, The game is all atmosphere.

It's super super linear and if you get caught it just resets you to the beginning of the current objective.

Collect batteries, use night vision, push a couple of levers and get to the exit.
