Looks like Nintendo is buying up to 10 million shares from Tokyo Stock Exchange:

(FYI, Yamauchi had 14 million shares. Could this be a buyback of up to 10 million Yamauchi shares?)

Nintendo's Board of Directors is taking a paycut.

Translation:

Here are the specifics:

The entire board is taking pay reductions from the period of Feb until June. Iwata is taking a 50% reduction as the company president. The two other representative directors, Genyo Takeda and Shigeru Miyamoto, will be taking a 30% reduction. All remaining directors on the board will take a 20% reduction. These include Tatsumi Kimishima, Kaoru Takemura, Shigeyuki Takahashi, Satoshi Yamato, Susumu Tanaka, Shinya Takahashi, and Hirokazu Shinshi.

Iwata says that beyond June, they will decide based on the business environment at that time.

Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about Rayman Legends Wii U.
I find it endearing that they're using the Game Boy brand in the note.

That's what I thought. Cool to see it still referenced as a highlight of the company. :)

So, when will someone do a deep analysis? :D

That reads like a net profit of 10(whatever denomination) Yen for the last 9 months. I guess they're expecting to be way down during the 4th quarter?

Am I reading this right?

Why are strippers at the U.N. bad when they're great at strip clubs???
Nintendo Q3 Operating Profit: Aprox. 220 million

Nintendo Q3 Net Income: Aprox. 100 million

3DS HW Sales -7.75 million

Wii U HW Sales -2 million

Software Results:

Super Mario 3D World - NA

Pokemon X & Y - 11.6 million

The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds - 2.16 million

Nintendo is predicting 2.8 million for this FY, and has sold 2.41, so they 'only' need to sell 399K in Q4 to meet their goal. o_O

Interesting that WWHD has hit the 1 million mark WW.

Does it say why? Zelda came out on the same day, why no info?

Pokémon X & Y is at 11.61 million units in 2013 alone
The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds sold over 2.18 million
Animal Crossing New Leaf did a further 3.52 million units
Mario & Luigi Dream Team Bros sold 2.00 million units
Super Mario 3D World & The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD have both sold over 1 million but they didn't give exact figures

Wow, that farthest right column is their 2014 forecast, right? Which means they are forecasting a loss of 35 billion yen?? Can someone explain?

Honest question: why are there so many people here focused on these numbers being shipped? Isn't that always the case?

Pretty damn big gap from Wii > Wii U and DS > 3DS software. Even with another five years 3DS isn't getting to half that.

I wonder if 3DS will catch GBA LTD numbers. Will it have a long enough shelf life?

The Wii U numbers are horrendous as expected. Will probably be Nintendo's worst selling home console ever by quite a margin.

Indeed. It has always been the case. IIRC, only recently have manufacturers started shifting to sold through. When Sony said it for the PS4 last year, I was surprised since it's typically shipped.

DS was a software monster. Remember NSMB on DS sold nearly 30 million copies. Mario Kart sold over 20 million. Nothing on 3DS has reached those type of sale figures, but Pokemon X/Y is doing well.

Does the 3DS software total include eShop sales?
