"Everything he said was true. But there's a reason they are dumping all this info now. Jan NPDs are gonna be fun."

Seems like the Xbox One demand has dropped to PS4 NZ levels.

Holy shit, this day keeps on giving.

Mort's now 99.9% sure it's a controlled leak.

Sweet baby moses if he's right.

Edit: I said I would stop posting but it keeps happening

Didn't get the memo regarding the 14th Amendment
If this was a controlled leak, then that means that Microsoft didn't mind for all this stuff to be leaked, right? Which means they must have even more stuff to announce?

honestly, who would hear except for the hardest core MS fans? The vast majority of people would be seeing it for the first time around e3. No video = no hype

wow so the Machinima scandal, the Tomb Raider scandal, and now January NPD looking terrible for Microsoft? This puts things in stark perspective as to what was going on tonight

A. They've still got some aces up their sleeves (Black Tusk new IP still in works? More 3rd party exclusives? Something else totally unknown?)
B. They're content to just release info on this stuff existing, confident they can maintain hype when they release actual media officially
C. DESPERATION (Get attention away from recent Tomb Raider/YouTube/etc. bad press, Jan sales might be bad, etc)

Take yer pick.

A is obvious. I think it's more B and C. Probably C first

Look at the comments by Spencer and then look at the leaks.

Look at the response all the leaks got. Unbridled enthusiasm from people that had every reason to dislike and distrust Microsoft mere hours ago.

If that isn't calculated alternative PR tactics, I don't know what is.

And hey, maybe I don't.

I'll take order C with some light B on the side.

Lmao dat hyperbole. But yeah I do think he's a plant. I doubt all that crap had much to do with it tho.

If the news is legitimate, I don't even care if they are planted leaks. Most leaks have an agenda behind them one way or another.

I still don't think they would announce literally everything that they have for E3 (or whenever). Especially if the Halo 2 Anniversary game is supposed to be announced officially in March.

I'm not saying it's not B or C, but I don't think it's a good strategy to announce almost everything (including games not being technically released until 2016) if they didn't also have some other things that they are keeping totally secret.

hyperbole is exaggerating stuff. The Machinima scandal and Tomb Raider scandal is real, the Machinama story in particular got them huge bad press everywhere. And IF January NPD is as bad as famousmortimer is implying, then what's the hyperbole? That would perfectly explain why Microsoft feels they need to get out ahead with these leaks now. They can't face an entire month straight of bad press again.

If you don't like hearing this stuff, blame Microsoft. They're the ones responsible.

The leaks do not change the forecast though, do they? Not a single leak today has me excited for the One this year. MS needs to announce new IP's not re-imagining/labeling of older ones.

Im sure xb1 jan npd will not be that good, but i dont think they ll be wiiu level stuff.
That said, they need a price cut before this fall.

I would be shocked if the NPD numbers were really all that wretched. I would imagine they will be roughly 75-80% of PS4's numbers. I cannot see them dropping the price of the console within a year of the launch without offering something for the early adopters.

I'm pretty sure that the dude is legit and not directly involved. However, there is probably a good reason his sources or whatever are receiving so much info right now even if he himself doesn't know why.

The Machinima scandal, sure, but I don't think anyone really cares about that Tomb Raider stuff, calling it a scandal is a stretch.

He didn't even say that everything is confirmed. He just talked about the bundle.
"Everything he said was true." -mort
That's a direct quote, so yes he did. I find it hard to believe he would know stuff years in advance, Project Nagano, etc. It sounds more like he's just latching onto the coattails of this guy to up his cred. I know famous is legit, but there's a limit. /2cents
