Game Informer played through MGS Ground Zeroes' main mission in [1.5hrs, not rushing]

The Phantom Pain does have base-building and players will not only be able to walk around their base, but their friends' bases as well!

Also, he clarifies that Big Boss has only fallen into one coma and by the end of The Phantom Pain, we will understand what happened to him.

rofl. No preorder from me. Going to wait until it comes out and see what others say about it. It was originally going to be a day 1 buy, but this is just a waste of $40 from what I see so far.

If I ever post something in Japanese which I don't understand, please BAN me.
It takes 2 babyyyy, me and you

You can bet this is totally on Konami. I'm sure Kojima didn't want to release JUST the prologue yet. The bullshit excuse saying "we did it for the fans to make the wait more bearable" is all on Konami's money grabbers.

Game Informer got their hands on a near-final build of Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes for their March cover story, and they say they beat the game's main mission (not including side quests or special console-exclusive missions) in less than two hours. Less than two hours!

"Judged just by the core story mission, Ground Zeroes is short," Game Informer writes in the cover story (only available in the magazine, not online). "We completed it in just less than two hours."

Less than 2 hours? $40 price tag? Konami are taking this Phantom Pain hostage thing very seriously. Pay up or you ain't getting the main game for a long time.

"Never said I wasn't a hypocrite."
You're all being really silly. How many of you are going to play the one mission once then throw the disc away?

Sure the main meat of GZ might only be a few hours, but there's different difficulties optional quests, etc. Hell if you just played the story missions to Peace Walker you could be finished in 6-8, and that's a 100+ hour game.

Also, why is it bad to pay $30 for a 2-4 hour game, but okay to spend $15 for two movies?

Look for me on the local news, I'll be the guy arrested for trying to burn down a Nintendo exec's house.
Is there a disc based version of the PS4 one in the west? Because this just hit rental status if I can.

Konami is fucking crazy trying to burn fans in this way with their one last big gaming franchise. Maybe if this had a Zone of the Enders 3 packed in it would fly, but not just a retail priced damn 2 hour demo.

That's a pretty good way to burn up fan goodwill.

Worth the short-term cash flow.

Who cares if reviewers slaughter it, and semi-casuals feel robbed when they go to purchase fucking METAL GEAR SOLID 5? Who cares if they choose not to pick up The Phantom Pain when they see it on shelves?

Nope, money now, thanks.

This is getting more and more ridiculous. One way to kill any hype for the game. Well done, Hideo. 40$ for a demo...

Well considering everything shown of Ground Zeroes is that small island base installation this doesn't come as a surprise to me. It's a glorified demo. What where some of you expecting after dozens of clips that showed the same area over and over?

How on earth are people being "really silly"? Is this a joke?

Phantom Pain is sounding neat as fuck.

Ground Zeroes is sounding like it has even less content than before.

Something to justify spending $40 on. Turns out Konami is just insane.

Bad comparison considering the massive amount of grinding and junk content peace walker had. You're not making this situation any better with that :lol

It's not like you'll get hundreds hours of this game for doing everything. That'll be very short too and it'll just be Camp Omega over and over again.

Wow. I'm a HUUUUUGE Metal Gear fan, but I'm not gonna fucking buy a 2 hour game for the price they're asking. No way in hell. I'll wait.

A 2 hour stealth game isn't going to have a lot to grab onto and cherish. Factor in intro and outro cutscenes, even if they only total 20 minutes, and you know people will easily bring that down to under 1 in a second play-through.

I'm sure some people out there will still get their money's worth out of it. However, it's not difficult to understand that many may only have interest in playing through the core content once and dabbling with the extras. This is particularly true in regards to games that are narrative-focused. Given that, it's rather absurd to assume that everyone who plays it should be expected to go through every difficulty striving for a Big Boss ranking. The primary product representing less than two hours of content at $40 is undoubtedly going to be a poor value proposition.

Australia is definitely getting one... it's $90.

And in those 2 hours,I bet there will be a few cutscenes which will atleast be 15-20 minutes long, so effectively the game will be only a 1 hour 30 minute playthrough...I am an ardent MGS fan but Kojima, this is pushing it too much...

Some people are still in denial. There still posts of people waiting for confirmation. lol

I think it's an unbelievable move by Konami and I hope they fall flat on their face with it.

As expected I guess, The Phantom Pain is the one to wait for. There's no problem with hardcore fans buying Ground Zeroes as long as they know what they're getting into though I guess. Still, pretty crappy pricing by Konami ($20 sounds more appropriate).

Two hours? I'm out. So many games coming out in March that this will get ignored and drop price pretty fast. Konami is such a sorry company.

Lol at the new developments

But fair to Konami. They know people will buy this regardless so I'll give them credit for that

I bought MGS4 and Peace Walker about a month ago and by the time I'm finished with them this will be dirt cheap. Here's hoping it's great!
