PlayStation 4 Remote Play Using a DualShock 4

I'd be surprised if somebody hasn't mentioned this but I can't see after a few searches, but this allows you to Remote Play PS4 games using the DualShock 4.

There's a brief video explaining how to do it and it's really simple.

Controlling a Vita and Dual Shock 4 improves the experience more than you might imagine. Hack them together like my daughter did and you have a new way to play PlayStation 4 games on the go - big bright screen, controller sticks, lights and rumble.

Daughter's Controller Hack Creates Portable PS4

It's not perfect but it's pretty good, sooner or later I'd imagine third parties will release a bracket specifically for this.

Still need to tap the screen every minute or so to stop it from dimming then going to sleep - unless there's a setting I've missed.

Been using this for my warframing for a while now

This sounds like a perfect opportunity for third party accessory manufacturers to charge $20 for a plastic bracket!

Using the dualshock 4 should be allowed by default. Would make some games a lot easier to play.

Nah Vita OLEDs dim alot to keep the brightness down if you aren't controlling it personally. Just to make sure the screen lasts longer.

Can I do that to play Vita games?
Not the way he's doing it, it has to be via remote play.

That seems to be the issue at the moment as there's no way to stop that happening. I'm hoping that Sony will decide to support this officially at some point so we get an licensed brackets for it and the option to stop the screen dimming. I would hope they'd be happy to support it as using a DS4 is always going to better than using the touch controls and it's another selling point.

That's great, since I HATE the Vita's controls.

This basically turns the Vita into a Shield, lol.

Do I really need a second controller though?

What else would be awesome and make this redundant would be a vita grip that added r2/l2 and r3/l3 buttons that would push the corresponding points on the rear touchpad.
Anyone seen any hacks like this?

Was thinking even those buttons that you could stick on to ipad screens for playing games would be good stuck on the rear touchpad so you can at least feel where you have to push. They used to be in every shop 2 years ago but now I can't find them anywhere except for online.

That's awesome. I always thought using the Vita's sticks would be annoying when a game is made for a real controller.

Assuming this is the using another account trick then it's been known since first week of launch or so

I wish Sony would instead allow a direct DS4 connection to the Vita not your PS4 so you can do this wherever without the vita going to sleep

I still have no clue why Sony doesn't release an addon for the vita which wraps around it and gives you more control/buttons.

You can't use your DS4 with VITA remote play. The Vita acts as the controller. I tried to and it didn't work.

If you watch the video in the OP it explains how you actually can (you need a second controller to "trick" the console).

Too bad I only have one.

This is a cool video - I am surprised you need to do the trick they suggest to get the remote play on the vita to work with DS4 - Sony get on it please ?

This is pointless, the controller is signed in as a guest so no saves from your main profile.

I presume you are saying this because it doesnt work either way around i.e sign in as a guest first and then as you main account second - has anyone tried that ?

Pleeasseeee support this. It would make remote play so much fun and better. The way it is not is imo near unplayable with the Vita controls without r2,l2, and the clickable sticks

isnt the DS4 bluetooth?

It would be nice if it could connect to Vitas bluetooth then

Cant Sony just release a firmware for the Vita to support the DS3 / DS4 thru firmware then? :)
