So, no trailer for us yet?
I don't know practice which is better, information constrain for The Order or one news per day for Titanfall.
Both annoy me like hell for different reasons.

I hope we really get down to the nitty and gritty about how destruction works and how it will play a role in the gameplay

hopefully not that much. destruction is nice but only if done right, and by done right i mean the materials would have to have their intrinsic properties from a physics and chemistry point-of-view. wouldn't it be nice to throw a torch on the grass and watch a whole area get burned depending on the way the wind blows? or by blowing up a wall, the house would actually collapse either slowly or instantly depending upon the structure that was destroyed? i hate it when a two-story house is still standing especially if the walls and pillars from the ground floor are all busted or the staircase is still holding up.

Interesting, that is almost word for word how they described the destruction - each object having actual physical properties based on the real world and then reacting precisely to how you damage it.

Of course I'll believe it when I see it.

i thought that was how the materials interacted with the gunshots and/or light (subsurface scattering). i guess the interaction would be limited given it's a third-person shooter, but i would be sorely disappointed if destruction were just about how the materials break down differently everytime they're shot at. i guess glass breaking while being rained down by bullets is different from wood being chipped at bits by bits, but that is mere novely for the first half-hour. hopefully there's more to it than that. i'm guessing there will be, seeing how much emphasis they're putting on it.

We've already heard from an insider that the gameplay demo for "The Order" shown off brought out reactions on the level of the 2009 UC2 E3 Demo

This demo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0evA4MIwuJk

So they most likely will be able to deliver an October/November system seller. (If marketed as such)

"Are you kidding? You're kidding, right?"

Ha, don't think I've ever seen this from the audience point of view. If The Order is getting the same reaction... damn.

I could negatively spin this. While U2 was an amazing game that section was the best in the nothing else compared. Sadly this could be the same case. We could be about to see the very best part of the game. I'm keeping my hype restrained, as this actually lowed my hype somewhat.

While this section of UC2 E3 section is amazing, I still was amazed by many more parts of UC2 (such as the opening, the Train section, etc.). Don't let simply the demo be the basis for the entire game.

If The Order can pull off the feeling I felt after UC2 then they have a guaranteed success because I showed UC2 to casuals and they wanted a PS3 pretty much minutes after

Given all the hype. On February 10th and/or 18th this game is going to be dissected to hell and back by NeoGAF. And fanboys are going to run wild in that thread, all 4.

I hope not to be disappointed.

The opening, the train sequence, Shangri-La, the Ice world, climbing that huge ass ancient statue, a tank smashing it's way through the Nepalese village, jumping from jeep to jeep whilst on the move and in the middle of a gun fight etc etc. There were tonnes of other awesome and awe inspiring segments. I'd argue the train sequence (from the tropical jungle all the way through to the snowy mountains) was the most impressive.

All great segments but my favorite parts of the Uncharted games were the quieter segments where the game just stepped back and let you immerse yourself in a gorgeous game world. The village in UC2 and the desert in UC3 were jaw dropping and unique.

I agree, I was simply mentioning segments that had a similar level of set piece extravagance and adrenaline.

Here, here! I always thought Uncharted was at its best when Drake wasn't firing his weapon. The desert in particular is one of my favorite gameplay moments of all time. I hope The Order tries to offer something similar in terms of atmosphere, immersion, and character development while using gameplay like the last two(more so in the 3rd) Uncharted titles.

With that avatar I'm not surprised....

The more I think about it the more I feel that SCE is positioning the Order to take over as their main TPS franchise while ND gets to dial back the bodycount and increase the exploration and worldbuilding aspects of Uncharted. I'd be all for that.

What are you trying to say, bro?

Seriously though, I dont see the next Uncharted changing drastically at all. Its a narrative driven series and the creative forces at work have talked about how they use linearity. I personally wouldn't want open world, or crafting added. I love Uncharted because its the only thing that makes me feel like I'm actually playing a movie(specifically UC3) and the current formula has perfected that.

I am beyond delighted that Sony is essentially going to have at least two "cinematic" franchises, because honestly that is right up mu alley.

I meant I'm not surprised you like the UC3 desert level because its your avatar pic. Agreed on not wanting an open world Uncharted. More puzzles and exploration would be nice though. I'm really curious to see how shooting focused the Order is. Ah well, 13 days left I guess.

Yeah, well to paraphrase a link I posted earlier, RAW has vowed not to "bore us with 45 minutes of shooting."

Also, interms of Uncharted(biased opinion here) I think UC3 typically had the best approach to setpiece/puzzle/shootout. I think UC3 had the series best puzzles and would have liked to see that much imagination brought to the next installment. Also enjoyed the more quiet moments and the setpieces. Really liked how UC3 cutback on the gunplay overall.

Yup. There was nothing that I would say was the "defining" moment of UC2. There were many incredible moments.

nothing has to replace anything for some genre. 2 tps games from sony can exist at the same time. no use comparing the two because being both tps doesn't mean anything.

I agree with this.

While I think Uncharted 2 felt a little less inspired, a little more "by the numbers", the increased frequency of slower sequences and hand to hand combat as opposed to shoot outs made me appreciate it more than UC2. The young Drake section was a marvel.

I think based on what RAD has been saying and their focus on atmosphere and film-like aesthetic, it's clear that they are trying to make this something far more narratively and environmentally engaging than a "run of the mill shooter".

Perfect storm of visuals , timing and a (hopefully) good game could see this become this generations Gears.
Now that would be something, wouldn't it?
I kinda doubt it though because of the lack of bald, full on steroids, space marines. And blood...tons and tons of jelly blood.

I want to say I'm hyped, but then I'd playing directly into their hands and I consider preview embargoes fucking ridiculous, and I won't stand for it.

The preview embargo is because there are multiple preview events around the world, rather than anything more sinister.

Are Naughty Dog games good or bad visually? If you know answer to that, then you will know meaning of this tweet.

I know that ND are seen as super devs around here, but still the tweet makes little sense other than it looks good. What the hell does "Sony's first Naughty Dog game" even mean? As in the first game published by Sony from ND? Cos that'd be Jak and Daxter. Or did he mean to say that it's RAD's first Naughty Dog game?

I have no idea what I'm doing.

I don't know either, but maybe Sony was supposed to mean PS4, as in it''l be the first PS4 naughty dog quality game?

I can't wait to see all tears because The Order will be just TPS with more cutscenes.

Are you saying that The Order will be a TPS and have cutscenes? Those are some pretty bold predictions. Whats next? You expect the next CoD to be played in the first person and feature guns?

Yes I was trying my hand at that GAF hyperbole there. Still, this has always been the case, that some outlets have preview access and others don't; what's different? Embargoes for reviews are so that people don't rush reviews without giving the game proper time. Something I also don't agree with, but is at least an argument. Here though, it's the publisher dictating the press.

I see what you mean, there's certainly something to it that I don't like but I understand it more on this one than some other events, due to the different events and not wanting to give a certain location an exclusive scoop randomly. But I think the embargo means we'll probably have an official gameplay trailer before then?

The oracle is delicate and must not be bothered with frivolous questions. It will reveal to us without request! We may not demand anything.

Uhm...your opinion maybe. But there were much better scenes/levels in UC2 :)

It's because of this -> *CLICK*
During an even older interview, Ready at Dawn once said that they respect Naughty Dog and they love their games.
After their last PSP title, they said the want to make a game like Uncharted. They want to be like Naughty Dog, etc.
Now this so called "insider" is acting like he knows "stuff" and tweeted "blablah heard insiderp stuff... the Order is being described privately jokingly as Sony’s first Naughty Dog game". Which is bollocks of course!
But still some people and even some gaming sites are quoting and believing him.
He does that all the time. Which is quite funny.

Yes but this so called "Insider" had a lot of leaks that were spot on ! He is very credible and he is a really good guy .

This game reminds me of Heavenly Sword. Game that had everything amazing but gameplay dragged it down.

So far game looks amazing but i fear in the end it will be just go kill warewolfs, defend this position and so on. And that studio never did any tps to beggin with so my fears are in right place.

I would love to see order being mariage of tps and adventure game, maybe some roleplaying with multiple choices...

Hang on, have you seen some gameplay? Gameplay is precisely what RAD are good at.
