What is the risk on MS to delay the 360 version if people will just wait and buy it?
I don't really see much risk, but that still doesn't mean it makes sense that a two week delay is going to convince people to run out and spend $500.
I think some of you need to step back and actually read what your typing, the lack of objectivity shown in this thread is astounding, seriously take a step back and just honestly think about what you are typing and how it may look to a normal person.
Gamespot in early December 2013
That's not it. Rather seems like they have something to hide.
The 10th is going to be great.
We haven't seen official new, full gameplay from Respawn since Gamescom, really.

Clever girl.
Okay, so get of your soap box and objectively us peasants what normal people think?
Normal people wouldn't be thinking a version of a game on an 8 year old console would look the same as a a version from a newly released next gen console that has over 10 times the amount of ram and a GPU about 5 times more powerful. Say what you want about the Xbox one VS the PS4 the PS4 is obviously more powerful but it is without question the Xbox one is a generational leap above the Xbox 360. It is just silly spiteful quips to even suggest that somehow the 3rd party port on 8 year old hardware is going to be on par with Respawns version on the Xbox one.
It is also quite silly to think EVERYTHING that happens involving the Xbox one or MS is some grand conspiracy by those evil bastards at MS. I mean come on the amount of tin foil hat crap being thrown around is ridiculous. No one is going to spend $500 they were not already going to spend because the 360 version comes out 2 weeks later, it is not going to happen and no sane person would think that. It is 2 freaking weeks 500$ is not chump change somehow is just going to throw out the window when we are talking about a 2 week delay.
I think for alot of you it is time to decompress from the rage and anger take a couple of deep breaths and realize the Xbox one boogy man is not going to get you when you sleep.
Exactly the sneaky underhanded stunts I would expect from MS corporate. Guess we know who is in charge of the XB1 division.
It's not so much convincing gamers to spend the $500 as it is putting the idea in their head that they should upgrade sooner rather than later. There is no better way to send the message that the 360 won't be supported forever, and that you might miss out on big things, by delaying arguably the biggest release of the year a few weeks.
For some reason, I really don't see the 360 version ever coming out. Or at least they will delay it. Just a gut feeling.
Yep. No tinfoil hats needed - this is about as transparent as it gets. It's quite obvious. But probably a smart move. They're not losing any money by a slight delay and they might even sell some XB1s. But a subtle message is sent either way. It's not so much convincing gamers to spend the $500 as it is putting the idea in their head that they should upgrade sooner rather than later. The comment about not competing with CoD directly was made in June. When PS4 was still an option for them. The scope of how big they could make this game has been limited from the get-go just by virtue of their size and the fact that it's a new IP. It's smart to say those things because it's an accurate representation of reality. "Competitive FPS multiplayer arena" is a large umbrella so obviously it will overlap some with CoD, but the bots and lack of singleplayer to me say they're carving out a different part of the pie. Of course they want the same success as CoD, who doesn't, but not necessarily the same market as CoD. EA has a title for that, and it is for better or worse called Battlefield.
Good call.
I don't doubt amir0x that they want the CoD fan base (I even believe they are going after prominent CoD youtubers to promote the game), but it just doesn't strike me in the same direct competition fashion as Battleifield has these past two iterations. Maybe they feel it would be to their detriment to release it in CoD season. Or maybe EA just needed it for the quarter
"every conspiracy thrives by expanding the conspiracy"
The obvious question that no one's asking: If this was some carefully calculated move to sell Xbox Ones, why not just announce the 360 release date as two weeks later from the outset?

To make sure reviewers do not deduct points for an equally performing 360 version?
I'm looking forward to Big Jeffrey's preview thoughts.

honestly surprised all versions made the March dates. Thought this would be delayed till Fall/Winter for sure.
Man, it's really weird how some people will just look for conspiracy at every single opportunity. It's like you have predefined opinions or something and will twist every bit of news to fit them! Surely not confirmation bias or anything.
Well, just a couple hypothetical answers to this obvious question could be..
1. They were hoping for a larger install base of One's sold by the time this game released.( I am in no way implying the console is not selling well, breath deep)
2. Maybe the visual quality of this game between the old box and the new one are not nearly as great and don't want that to be a main talking point release day, further hindering the sales of the new consoles version.
Again I'm not claiming either of these as any kind of fact, but they are answers as to why this delay would of not been announced when the game revealed.
yeah man it's like if there was a company who was doing nothing but lying and deceiving customers for the last eight months straight, was caught astroturfing on neoGAF like six thousand times, sent marketing peons to blatantly lie about competitors and their own products on forums and reputable websites, attempted a wholesale anti-consumer disruption of the market wherein they couldn't keep their story straight for more than a minute and was recently caught in a scandal wherein they and another company tried to buy youtube positivity whilst telling these same people to keep quiet about the arrangement
surely there is no reason at all to be skeptical about this upright company!
Yes, delaying the world's biggest franchise will entice people.

Or maybe the 8 year old hardware needs a little more polish to present a reasonably playable experience? Na couldn't be something as simple as that could it?
