New DLC After Hours for Grand Theft Auto Online.

Los Santos is a city of bright lights, long nights and dirty secrets, and they don’t come brighter, longer or dirtier than in GTA Online: After Hours. Partner with legendary impresario Tony Prince to open and operate a top shelf Nightclub featuring world-class DJ acts Solomun, Tale Of Us, Dixon and The Black Madonna, and use it as a front for the most concentrated network of criminal enterprise ever to hit San Andreas. The party starts on July 24th.

on one hand, super psyched about the business consolidation stuff.

on the other hand, the Fast & Furious on steroids crazy vehicle shit they started through Gunrunning to The Doomsday Heist looks like it continues... I mean, missiles and a dozer shovel on a delivery truck o.0

I was just hoping for a low-key management-focused passive-income nightclub to run -- open to public for 'buffs' or stuff that generate income based on how popular it is with players.

this looks like the club is just a front for some Gunrunning Doomsday Facility craziness ;O but, you know... trailer. hope the club management is still the focus.

I saw this yesterday and I thought is that The Black Madonna punching a guy out? It can't be. I did a search and it was. That's amazing man. She's not that well known but her Boiler Room and Mixmag sets are great. I don't play the online part of GTA but I'm going to download it just to see what they did with her.

Thanks for the video!!!! amazing session!

Remember when GTA games were getting big single player campaign expansions ?

Whatever at this point. Red Dead Redemption 2 will allow us to get over the lack of single player DLC for GTA V.

Considering how wild GTA V was, I am not sure a DLC would have added much to be honest. I mean one of the reasons why Gay Tony was so good was because it put the wild back in GTA IV which was missing from the game.

There wasn't much "unexplored design space" for single player stuff in GTA V.

Its ''everything down here'' or ''Up there'' in gta online because they won't dare to release an entirely new map just for the online which im sure they are itching to. Its just massive underground bunkers to give a sense on newness.

Also, justifying there was nothing more to do in SP content wise in a gamelike gta is just a cop out excuse.

I never said there was "nothing more to do". I said there wasn't a lot left to explore design-wise, a DLC would have been more of the same in terms of gameplay. So instead they focused on stuff they could actually push forward, which is what any designer worth their salt would want.

I understand design talk is a bit high brow for a lot of the childish users on this forum so no worries. You can all talk about how "immersion" is what makes games great :ROFLMAO:

Did I miss something? Thought the update was coming on the 24th. Anyway, now that I'm here. Are there people still actively playing this on PC. I'm willing to the the heists with good/organized folks. Add my social club: Thazard.

Looking forward to this - the nightclub stuff was one of my favorite parts of IV/BoGT. But I haven't played in like 3 years so I had a LOT to catch up on. It's crazy how the Delorean and Batmobile are in the game now lol.

The description on the Newswire post makes it sound like there is a legitimate money-making option in Nightclubs. But I guess we'll know for sure on Tuesday.

this game really needs to die so we can get a sequel, it still sells like it's a new game even after 5 years, at this point there is no way we are getting GTA 6 before 2021

yeah, my hope is it's just the trailer -- gotta be exciting.

and my guess is that at least the voice acting parts, they're probably unique missions (e.g. the set-up) where you gotta recruit your DJs.

the daily actual gameplay loop could be more like that scene with the box truck (MTL Pounder Custom), and even then who knows if the daily gameplay loop is like that, or if that's more like one of its 'MOC special missions' or something.

hopefully at least the nightclub stuff is more low-key... at least for me, the flying cars and weaponized-everything in the game is a bit crazy for me haha it's the one thing I appreciate the simple MC missions (well, except for the Post Op, fuck LJT and his discretion).

Or when Rockstar would put out 3 full GTA games on a single system? What the fuck are they doing these days. They are raking it in from GTA online, and somehow less able to make product.

This review of the new DLC sounds promising:

Has anyone else played the new After Hours DLC?
think it's a stretch to say it feels like single-player lol

it's got a bit of a scripted intro and set-up but otherwise it's a lot reskinned delivery grinding

the nightclubs are pretty dope though, and they do provide a bit of passive side income... but you'll make 10x more (e.g. say, 1mil in develieries for every 100k your club makes) from the delivery grind. and while it's kinda interesting the supplies accrue without resupplies/pickups, you're still paying for it ultimately in other expenses -- so in practice it's still like the expenses of a bunker (with purchased supplies) and reskinned delivery vehicle missions.

just the 'front' is a lot cooler.

but... after a month or two I doubt anyone is going to be saying, oh yeah 'feels like sp' ... yeah, if ur sp game is boxtruck simulator fast n the furious edition

there were rumors about the Doomsday Heist being salvaged single player dlc, Franklin's VA did mocap and voice work post launch. The Doomsday Heist, could've easily fit after the events of GTA5's campaign, instead of before as GTAO does.

Been having fun with it so far. I barely had enough to buy a Nightclub but I've been doing MC work on the side to slowly upgrade it further and further.
Only downside for me (so far) is that since the Euphoria engine was downgraded in this game, stumbling around drunk in the club isn't nearly as hilarious as it was in Gay Tony.

I don't think that's true anymore. Time has progressed, as evidenced by Lazlow's appearance in After Hours.
But yeah, Doomsday Heist seems (I haven't done it yet) big enough for that to sound legitimate.

Sure but once they did online heists it made way more sense to it there.

yeah TBH I love that they did all these GTAO content... I dislike how grind-y and slow the balancing is...

but, progression speed aside, it's like GTA San Andreas on steroids... so many cool businesses and repeatable missions to do.

my biggest problem -- and this relates heavily to the 'progression speed' -- is that they didn't add them to SP as well.

would have been fun to do Trafficking, Gunrunning, or Heists as Trevor or CEO Cargo or Import/Export stuff as Franklin, just with 10x progress speed or something lol ;p

but... the reason why it's not added to SP is the same reason why the progression speed is such a slow grind -- gotta promote and sell Shark Cards.

so my problem has never been the design of GTAO free roam content per se, but just the way it's packaged and balanced ;/ even by MMORPG standards. progression in GTAO is slow AF... it's not even WoW speed, more like EQ speed lol (especially at least before the last few months where Double Money/-30% to -50% discounts have become much more rampant).

so, with RDR2, on one hand, I love free roam content and I love Online/MMO sand box/free roam stuff... so properties, repeatable missions, etc for RDR2 in a shared online community sounds great.

on the other hand, I'm scared as heck about RDR2 getting million dollar homesteads, wagon deliveries payouts that make MMORPGs look casual, and flying weaponized horses o.0
