I miss when Sony made surreal and trippy marketing. They used to have this abstract arthouse thing going for them. It wasn't just in their ads, but their identity overall.
They used to be weird, albeit memorable and made people talk. Modern day PS marketing is just... bland.

Agreed. They should've showed off footage of xCloud with HellDivers 2, being played via DualSense and said "This is a PlayStation".Missed opportunity.
The new ad campaign should have been called:
"This is a Playstation."

Isn't that what YouTube is for? you can look up any game there, and they do State of Plays constantly to remind us of what games are coming. This is in the same vein as 'Play has no limits'A bunch of money wasted...
They should've had an ad showing all the top franchises on PS5, including all the MS games (Halo, Forza, Gears, etc...) and then say "It happens on PS5".
