I'll do more later.

MS is STILL losing money per console sold... muwhahaha
Meanwhile Sony is the only console making money..

Asuming the info is accurate

So Nintendo isn't making a profit on the Cube, and are in fact losing almost as much as MS?

I thought N64 outsold SNES in the US :/

It looked like it for a second. But for such a failed console with MUCH less third party support, the N64 didn't lag behind all that much. Plus the SNES had until 1998 to enjoy some kind of sales, while the N64 only had until 2002. (And I mean "failed" sarcastically)

Oh yeah. That's exactly what Sony wants to hear right about now.

I agree up to this point...but then it takes a wrong turn...
what a piece of shit that was

No way was the SMS a piece of shit. Not as good as the NES, sure. I consider the Jaguar a piece of shit and the SMS was not a Jaguar.

People thought the N64 was a failure? What kind of idiot would think that?

Competition entered the market and did very well. I guess you can blame a company for not adhering to a consumer's tastes but nothing is infallible and even Nintendo will sccumb to an extremely well placed attack (that attack would be Sega's Genesis).

No need. Got it myself. Approval only took 20 mins.

This looks like a good read, a lot of interesting information. They think 2006 will be Xbox's biggest year in Japan.

their 2006 Japan expectations are meaningless. All three consoles are estimated for half a million. Basically, they have no expectations for '06 Japan.

Serious question in a not so serious thread.

Looking at this:

Retailer 2003 Marketshare Videogames:
1. Walmart 21%
2. Best Buy 13%
3. GameStop 12%
4. Target 10%
5. Toys R Us 9%

7. Circuit City 4%
8. KB Toys 3%
9. Kmart 2%
10. Costco 1%
11. Others 16%
TOTAL: 100%

Why is Walmart not included in the NPD? If they have that much marketshare, then aren't all the numbers way off for all consoles? Or is this just game sales marketshare?
