Not offended, its your freedom to comment on whatever you like, you weren't causing harm. It's just always a bit ironic when people say they don't care yet go through the effort to let people know they don't care.
I just saw everyone talking about it (not here, elsewhere) and I just really thought about it and I had to admit to myself that I don't really care about 2 cops getting killed.

Just like how you or anybody else could probably care less about 2 people from my neighbrhood who you don't know getting killed. It works both ways. And that's OK.

Good to know where you stand as a human being.

For the record I do care if someone is shot in cold blood

Where is your neighborhood? Is attempted murder legal there?

Well obviously we didn't get the see ALL of the beginning.
Just start tasering him?

Guy is getting scared and ganged upon.

They are not very adept at subdueing that guy. No need to shoot the cops though.

A sad tragic event that could/should have been avoided.

Not sure if tweet will publish correctly...

If not, click and scroll just a bit down to:

"Because twitter limits videos to 2:20, many people are missing the 7ish minutes of the officers talking to the man, asking him to get out of his car while he ignores orders and calls his friend.

The officers were incredibly patient."

And the video.

War on Cops. Time for cops to start suiting up and if the mayors or DA's want to get in their way arrest em too.
If we end up with an authoritarian communist state with race based laws, it's the far lefts fault.
If we end up with a pendulum swing into tough on crime, heavily armored police state with people cheering for safety, it's the far left's fault.

I hold onto hope Trump landslides, riots are stomped out, and we somehow manage to return to normalcy. But with every passing day - every riot, every arson, every ambush on cops, we veer off course. A land with no cops, or where cops fear death at every stop, is not manageable. We end up with violent mobs or Judge Dredds.

And it fucking sucks. Can't we just roll the clock back 5 years to sanity? Must we continue with once rational Democrats defending looting and calling to abolish the police? Why are they forcing me to prefer Judge Fucking Dredd over their stupidity? I have railed against the growing militarization of police, the ominous role of DHS, and the rest for decades... and now, thanks to these morons, I'm half hoping the troops will be sent in.

The left left their radicalism unchecked. They even defended it, fed it, celebrated it. And we are all paying the price.

Donut Operator has more of these types of cases as well.

People will keep saying that the police need to be held accountable, and your not wrong. BUT CITIZENS NEED TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE JUST THE SAME, THEIR IS NO EXCUSE FOR THIS TYPE OF IMMORAL BEHAVIOR!

This anti police narrative does show how little people understand what a police officer has to deal with on a daily basis. The media and even ENTERTAINMENT doesn't help by making them out to be villains.

The anti police rhetoric ignores the actual issues in these lower income areas, the criminality in these areas. Both sides should be able to reach common ground on this, the type of immoral behavior were seeing should be condemned by everyone!
But not even the leadership in these areas that claim to be on the side of the people, are doing nothing to change things for the better, making way for violence and more death.

The problems that were seeing its not police. The conversation needs to change, and the sooner people acknowledge this the better off will be.

Cases like these police officers being shot in the head and people calling for their deaths, they don't even realize they became the very thing they hated. A bunch of violent animals with no morals.

Some takes are so bad that they have the power to make you lose faith in mankind ever so slightly. This one right here is one of those.

Yes, I'm sure absolutely no one on this forum would care if two people they didn't know got gunned down in cold blood for no reason. If two people with family, obligations, aspirations, feelings and motives got shot in the face for doing their fucking job to put food on their table and improve their family's quality of life.

God, we better watch ourselves to avoid cutting ourselves on all that edge you got, though truly the deepest gash on this forum appears to be you. Apathy stops being cool around the time you're legally allowed to operate motor vehicles. After that it's called sociopathy. Terrible, terrible take, and I hope other people don't share your outlook should YOU ever have a day at work like these cops. Christ.

Yes, no one would care. That's just the truth. People get gunned down everyday. Are we supposed to care more because they are cops?

Let me tell you a true story. I live in NY. One of my friends sisters is married to a Cop. A few years ago, before labor day, I went to a party he was having, and he (the police officer) was a little drunk and joking around openly about how him and his cop buddies take bets every year on how many people will be shot at the labor day parade in Brooklyn. Some people were laughing with him but a lot of people were like uhhhhhhhh. My friends sister had to take him outta the room. Some people were shocked. I wasn't cause I know this is how most cops are.

Sorry but...I know there are good cops out there blah blah blah. But I'm not going to sit here and pretend like they are any more noble than every other asshole out here breathing air.

It is called 'gallows humor' and a lot of people who deal with truly horrible situations on a daily basis use it as a psychological coping mechanism to avoid going insane. Medical personnel, first responders, soldiers, firefighters, cops. Folks doing the jobs almost no one else can or wants to do.

That you don't need to do something similar is because you get to enjoy living inside a safety bubble provided by these people.

And we should only afford people the privilege of caring if they've been sainted or we know them personally? I'm willing to bet you care about your family and friends. Chances are under the right circumstances they're assholes, as well. No one's claiming you should "care more because they're cops herp derp." Cops are people. Same way EMT workers, firefighters, teachers, surgeons, fast food workers and Portland protestors are people. You're going to have your assholes, genuinely kind people, manipulators and every type in between. With everyone. Vocation doesn't dictate the quality or integrity of a person's character, thank you for your attempts to try and remind me of common sense, but it wasn't the point I was making.

I think it's stupid when anyone gets shot in the face for doing their job. I'm not hurt and upset and literally shaking, don't let your reptilian heart get too confused. However, I am pissed off at the senselessness of it. I know violence is an unfortunate part of the human condition and thus will never be eradicated entirely. I'm not putting daisies in people's gun barrels. But I also feel like there's a time and place where the expectation and action of violence is more warranted than clocking in on Wednesday morning.

But I get the feeling based on your last couple of posts that you're essentially a Reeera mole or some like minded individual because ACAB and edgy, sardonic one sentence replies. So, you know, I recommend Nine Inch Nails' The Downward Spiral album, it's got more legitimate edginess than the Powerman 5000 discography that I hear in the background of every one of your posts.

I have lots of medical professionals in my family and no one is taking morbid bets on who’s going to kick the bucket. Probably because to practice medicine you have to be a professional, whereas any bum off the street with a GED can be a police officer in this country. Hilarious how you are making excuses for their lack of empathy but want to judge me for mine. Hilarious, but not surprising. The holy trinity for white people in America a are : Police officers, the American flag, and dogs.

It is fucking insane how modern-day media has desensitized people towards violence against the police (or just violence in general). Are there asshole cops who abuse their power and don't deserve to wear a badge? Absolutely. Are there racist pieces of shit cops who target minorities? Definitely. But none of this means that every cop is bad. There are a lot of cops out there who do their jobs properly and deserve more for all the shit they have to put up with and all the risks they have to take because other people won't.

Do cops need better training and accountability? Yup. But they also have to deal with high pressure situations that can have huge consequences, the kind which the people who judge them would not be able to handle. See the above murder of Craig Johnson. See the murder of David Dorn.

Not all cops are bad the same way not all protesters are violent scum. All these generalizations and absolutist statements need to stop if there is ever going to be any kind of meaningful dialogue.

I suspect your medical family members make jokes about patient behavior all the time based on what they see. If they are fortunate enough to have a lower stress medical job or a different set of coping skills then congrats to them.

They don't make bets about how many of them will die, I can tell you that. I'm not telling you not to consider police officers to be some holy and saintly presence in society....I know that most American white people do because that's just a part of your culture, I'm just saying not everyone does.

I would hope you are at least consistent and would admit you also don't care if George Floyd or any other criminal is killed by police. People die every day right, who cares if the cops eliminate some lowlife you don't know.

I don't consider George Floyd a criminal but you are correct, his death did not affect me in any way emotionally either. What happened to him didn't shock me because that has been going on for years. It's only now we have camera phones that record it live. It won't surprise me when the cops go free either.

I know what they say 24/7, because the unemployment grants me the free time to attend every "bring your child to work," day on the calendar.

After the white person line we all know this dude is just a troll, correct? Like I'd hope we're continuing to engage under the pretense of entertainment as opposed to getting riled up, because, like...

It's not even high effort trolling. I've been a student of the game, as it were, and this guy is approaching level 5 using level 2 tactics.

Other than his long and storied history of criminal activity and the criminal act he committed that led to his arrest? During which he appears to have swallowed the illegal drugs he was in possession of, leading to his death by overdose?

Other than all that?
That is fine, but whatever he did in the past he did his time and paid his debt. Otherwise why don't we as a society imprison everybody for life for any and all offenses?

If the penalty for everyone who falls victim of the law is death what makes us any different from any other totalitarian society?

But all that is neither here nor there because like I said I see the George Floyd situation for what it was, I'm not interested in engaging in a exploration of who he was as a person, whether he was a crackhead, a drug addict, a porn star, a father, stephen jacksons boy, or any of that because I simply don't care. I like many others saw the video. You can spin what happened whichever way you want. You can also not care about him being killed because has as you say a "criminal" in your eyes. That's cool. So don't mind me when I don't care about 2 cops who got shot up. It is what it is and alls fair, buddy boy. Cheers.
