2 New Game & Wario Games Unveiled (Plus The Return of Shield Pose and other details)

The official Japanese Game & Wario page updated:

http://www.nintendo.co.jp/wiiu/asaj/index.html

It includes details on 4 games, including 2 new ones. Also, the four games from last week - Arrow, Shutter, Sketch, Disco - now have videos to view (動画をみる) on their respective pages.

-Based on the Shield Pose demo from E3 2011.
- "Move your whole body like a dancer; left, right, up, and forward to the rhythm to catch the arrows as they fly toward you."
-Gamepad Usage: Hold the gamepad in both hands like a shield and move it around to catch the arrows. Lower the gamepad to clear the arrow.
-Sharp movements are key. Follow the rhythm of the music to do well.

Kung-Fu:

-Guide Cricket to his Master, Mantis. The TV shows the way ahead, while the Gamepad shows a top down view as he jumps. But be careful of his hunger meter! Other players can watch the TV and guide the player with the Gamepad, while they focus on the top down view.
-Hold the Gamepad flat and tilt left, right, back, and forth to make Cricket jump from platform to platform.
-Cricket's stomach will empty with time so give priority to platforms with dumplings on them. Use sudden drops while jumping to move with good tempo.

Gamer:

-In Diamond City, where Wario and co live, 'Balloon Fighter' is a popular game. It seems that the young 9Volt, who loves games, is attempting to play the game late at night, while hiding it from his mom. But then she comes to check on him...
-On the TV is 9Volt's room, while Balloon Fighter appears on the Gamepad. When you notice his mom coming, hit the button quickly to pretend to be asleep.
-If you focus too hard on Balloon Fighter you may miss your mother coming. If you get people around you to tell you when Mom is coming, you can focus more easily on the game.

Patchwork:

-Try and match the cut up pieces to the paper pattern. So long as the pieces match the silhouette on the pattern, it's ok if they go over the edge. If you can place all the pieces, you'll create patchworks of various shapes.
-Slide the cut pieces to the right place on the pattern using the Gamepad.
-If you start with the larger pieces, it'll be easier to get an idea of what your making and make it easier to continue. It's a good idea to look at the image from a distance sometimes to get a good idea of what you're making.

Holy crap! Today's real megaton is that more than two people can have the same first name.
I wasn't sure about this to begin with, but the more I hear about this game, the more I like it.
Patchwork looks especially addictive.

I want to try and give this a chance, but I'm not feeling it. Really wish it was a traditional Wario Ware game now rather than these expanded small games.

Hmm, there's a Nintendo Network logo on the box. Does that mean DLC, or could it just indicate Miiverse support?

Where's our release date NoA? :(

Glad to see Shield Pose return though. Thinking back to E3 2011, I think every single tech demo has been converted into either Nintendo Land or Game & Wario now.

Looks like a couple new artist joined the Nintendo SPD and Intelligent Systems Wario team. By the way, it's weird people omit the main developer (Nintendo SPD) while bigging up IS.

So it looks like there are going to be 16 total games in the end. Well, probably a few bonus ones as well.

I guess the question now is how much depth they are going to have. If there are a few single-player games with the depth of Balloon Trip Breeze and Donkey Kong Crash Course I will pick it up. If it's just party games, probably not.

I really like the varied art style. I welcome back its use of real photos. Smooth Moves kinda didn't use any of those and stuck with crudely drawn images if I recall correctly. It was a pretty ugly game

Nintendomination has compiled the footage from the website and put it on Youtube (for those who prefer it): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e6X-TCMKtGY

Pretty much, footage of this game has even included the angle drawing demo from then.

This game looks good but I'm kind of sad that this isn't Warioware anymore. =/

I guess if they did do another Warioware game, it wouldn't do anything new, though, so I guess it's for the best.

From what I played last year, they're a bit less in-depth than the Nintendo Land games, but they're vastly larger than any Wario Ware segment. The big pull of this title is that it's a multiplayer game that uses only the GamePad, which is why the descriptions of each of the games mention getting other people in the room involved in the more single-player oriented bits like Gamer and Kung-Fu.

I saw the skiing and archer demos and I played through the photography games at NYCC last fall. I guess I already have some sense of the ones I saw but I'm curious if there will at least be a few that are more fleshed out.

I am assuming that there will be some sort of single player structure, as there has been with every past Ware Ware game, it just isn't clear so far what that will be.

The site has all of the icons up. This is at least new to me.

Looks like we're getting Ski and three new ones next week. The only other one is Fruit (that one Iwata played in a ND) that has been shown, iirc.

Kind of interested to see video of Kung-fu too. I wonder if it'll look good in motion.
