The Nintendo DS is doing quite well. Nintendo needs to start getting some new software on shelves if people are going to take this system seriously.

The same thing happened when the SP first came out. It's probably the price difference.

I dunno if anyone followed my "serious discussion" thread I tried to have about DS.PSP sales, but if you did, just know that the DS is exceeding my sales expectations for the system, and I thought I was being pretty high with them too. It's fucking nuts.

Doesn't this mean the DS has nearly sold out for the estimated number of shipped units for the entire year (1.4 million)? Also, I'm going to guess the spike is from that recent increase in shipment that upped the number of units from 1 million to 1.4. So could the DS have been constrained by "low" shipment numbers?

Regardless though, I wish more were buying Band Brothers, I want some websites with sheet music of some crazy custom songs and remixes for the game. :(

I've imported 3 of the Japanese DS games (WarioWare, Mr. Driller, One Line). Add Mario 64, Zoo Keeper, Band Brothers and Feel the Magic to that & you have a hell of a lot of great games. If I lived in Japan, I'd not have a bad word to say about the thing. I am not stunned that it's selling boatloads.

As much as I like the DS I have to admit I'm pretty shocked too. I guess those 2 million retail preorders weren't for nothing.

I'd say it did about 50k. It's 26th on the list but everything gets a huge boost this time of year. Should end up doing close to 200k.

It's not gonna happen, man. 300k in 5 days for that system is insane. Even the PS2 wont pull off those numbers.
