And he's doing it with largely the same roster Rambis had + Rubio, Barea and Derrick Williams (although the Lion didn't do much before the break). Adelman should be getting Coach of the Year consideration.

And Re: Rubio and Rambis, that's reading deep into it. Rambis wasn't the coach when he decided to go to Barcelona, his deal didn't have an out until after the second season and he did sign when Rambis was techinically employed still.

Shot is broken right now. I'm attributing it to him being a shitty shooter in Europe + playing 35-40 mpg on this crazy schedule, which is much more than in Europe

Hopefully in the offseason he'll bulk up and work on his shot with the coaching staff

Yeah but he doesnt shoot his team out of games. His shot is only gonna improve though, its aight.

Two key things: He is a good finisher at the rim because of his IQ but he gets a LOT of his layups blocked. He can dunk (seen it in Europe) but he doesnt use it much, he needs to start.

His set jumper is really good, but in transition his legs flail too much, so his shot is not broken, the motion is fine, its just that his jump is all sorts of bad.

He wasn't ever any good to begin with. His college stats were inflated and he's never had any skill. Hell, he's not even all that athletic for a lottery pick either.

The Josh Smith comparisons didn't really make much sense, but I thought he wouldn't be this horrifically bad. He seems content to try to use perimeter skills he doesn't have instead of doing things to help his team win whenever I see him play.

Martell's been knocking down shots and playing something resembling defense. He should be getting a ton of minutes regardless of Wes's foul situation.

Oh, i totally agree. Webster should start no matter what since he also brings fantastic rebounding and good defense when he is in there. The only thing Wes brings is his shot (so sad)

Whoever compared him to Josh Smith is a moron. Smith was always on a different level athletically and defensively. AF Aminu isn't even the best Aminu playing ball right now. Alade Aminu is better in every way - but D-league wings get hated on like LeDefer.

I don't know why Aminu was some kind of supposed piece going back to New Orleans for Paul. That's dude's not going to be in the league in two years.

Yeah I think it's fatigue. Through the first 10-15 games he was shooting like 42-43%. It's just been going down as he's gotten more minutes and as the season has progressed.

He was only like a 38% shooter in europe but from everything i've seen the 42-43% is about what I expect from him.

Alexander was able to shoot over 40%, so he has that over Aminu.

At what point are people wondering aloud if the league got a good deal for Paul? Aminu's garbage, Gordon is never healthy and might leave this summer, Kaman is just going to expire, the Minnesota pick isn't that valuable.

For all the grief the Wolves got for "giving away" Garnett, Al Jefferson and the #6 pick was way better.
 
@Puddles - LO can't handle Dallas with one of the best owners in the league. He'd probably OD on heroin if he was stuck in New Orleans. That leaves Scola. Whoopdeefuckindo

If Aminu works really hard and develops a great smile to keep himself in the league, he might be good enough to become the 4th option on a championship team. Still, at least those trade chips were all long-term investments. Scola, LO, and whatever else they would've got isn't any better at all. At least this deal could be called high risk/high reward.

The Minnesota deal was much, much better though. Still, a lot of things had to happen just right for that scenario to occur.

I just don't think that either of those deals was good. You could make an argument that Scola, Odom, Kevin Martin and 27 wins is better than tanking, a late lottery pick and Eric Gordon, but they both suck.

I have been pretty impressed with Derrick Williams these last few games (cept the suns game, blah). Looks like he is finally figuring out how to play in the NBA, and is not making me totally regret not taking Jonas at 2 spot.

He's learned to pick his spots. His shot selection is better, he's not looking totally out of control like he was at the beginning of the year.

And I know he picked up a T, but I loved seeing him jaw with Wallace.

For New Orleans? Please the last thing we want are two certified hacks in Martin and Scola. I don't think i even need to say anything about emo-odom. I'd rather take a chance on someone like Gordon who might develop into something great than a sub par playoff team in those guys.

And really guys is he really injured? Really? In a year the hornets need to tank to get a very valuable number #1? Coincidence? The hornets are already winning too much already and have had a lot of close ones. Put Gordon on their and it's no contest for #1.

Once we have Davis i think he and Gordon will be a great foundation for the future.

What other franchise would get into a public fight with their most loyal fan at the precise moment they finally become good?

“When they traded for Chris Paul, I cried,” Clipper Darrell said.

Darrell has been a Clippers fan since 1994. Freshly fired and told by a boss he’d never amount to anything, Darrell watched a Clippers game on television and heard the same thing said about the franchise.

The connection was obvious. A love affair was born. “Ride or die,” Darrell said.

Through the years he’s been the big voice in an often-empty stadium, the last believer of a team that lost and lost and lost, the colorful personality for a team whose history was so pathetic and drab.

The entire soap opera is comical to anyone without a dog in the fight. This seems like one completely avoidable, unnecessary public-relations hit for a franchise that most fans already considered heartless.

It escalated quickly this week after Darrell said on his website the Clippers didn’t want him using the team name anymore. The franchise responded by putting him on blast in a lengthy statement that ripped him with the not-a-fan line and ended with, “We are no longer interested in that kind of association with him, and that is why we accepted his offer to remove our team name from his stage name.”

Darrell was rocked for a couple days and now wants to fight back, claiming he deserved better, that he was just a simple guy and that the franchise has twisted everything.

Darrell spent two days saying nothing, claiming he was wounded. He broke his brief silence with this interview.

“I have to get this out,” he said.

I really doubt they're tanking on purpose (I haven't watched many of their games though). Trying to be last place is not worth it when you consider how many more ping pong balls you're getting

Slightly better odds for Anthony Davis is worth way more losses for a lockout year that has no one on the roster who will be there in two years other than Ayon. Gordon and Okafor have been out for a suspiciously long time and the team's record compared to expected record was pretty absurd just a couple weeks ago. Their crunch time performance is unbelievably, near suspiciously, bad though that probably has a lot more to do with personnel than actually trying to lose.
 
Clipper Darrell getting screwed is terrible. But I expect shit like that coming from Donald Sterling....

I think most guys will still be there in two years. We'll try to ditch Kaman maybe throw in aminu or someone in with him to get a good pick. But Jack's played well and i think he'll start for the next couple years until there's a great pg we can draft. Ariza isn't awesome but defensively he's good and Okafor is a good enough center to at least come off the bench for Davis.

Most guys we have now are playing well above the sum of their parts but as we draft new guys i assume our starters now will hopefully transition to the bench and be a good unit there. They definitely have a good defensive identity.
