2014 High-Res PC Screenshot Thread of the Last Hope for Image Quality

I have a question regarding this game. What exactly does enabling "supersampling" in the options do? I've enabled it a few times with minor hits in fps, but didn't notice much of a difference.

This pigeon was frozen in mid-air, lol.
Basically, each frame is rendered in a resolution, that is bigger than your monitor's resolution and then scaled down to your resolution.

ex. Playing at 1080 p with 4 X Supersampling means the game is effectively rendering an image at 4K. (Most of the time 2X is more then plenty as 4 is total overkill )

It is a highly effective AA method but usually comes with a hefty performance cost depending on what card you are using .

4x SS would be more similar to 8K, no?

1080p is, like, 2K isn't it? I never remember these things.

Is it? now you make me doubt myself altough i still question it rendering at 8k.
Yeah, it's more like 4K/UHD, 8K is like 16 times the resolution of 2K, just type the resolutions into a calculator to get the amount of Pixels.

1920 x 1080 (1080p) = 2,073,600
3840 x 2160 (UHD/2160p) = 8,294,400
4096 x 2160 (4K) = 8,847,360
7680 x 4320 (4320p(what T.V manufacturers will probably call 8K)) = 33,177,600

4xSS on 1080p I believe is 4K.

I think 2xSS is 2880x1620.

I have recently replayed NOLF 1, didn't make any screenshots though (didn't work for some reason with the stuff i used), i wish i'd had bought NOLF2 when it was new... i might Amazon or e-bay it.

I don't understand how he's so short

4x AA is (most often) 2x2 AA which means that you increase X and Y by 2.
Thus 1920x1080 with 4x AA is 3840x2160 worth of pixels or what is called "4K" in TV space.
8K would be a 3840x2160 display resolution with 4x AA again. So to get from 1080p to 8K via AA you actually need 16x AA applied on top of 1080p resolution.

Glad to see there are so many NOLF fans!
Anyway, there was someone asking about widescreen resolutions, there is a fix around the net which works great. As I have written some time ago I can't go past 1920X1200 though. Going beyond resets the resolution to 640X480.

Thanks :) Using a GTX 660 2GB.
I found and installed NOLF2 a couple of months ago but had problems getting 16:9 resolutions working. Your shots made me want to try again but I now can't find the CD to start it up!

If you don't like the heavy film grain, it can be removed with TexMod. Further screenshooting tools here.
Thanks! I'll check it out. :)
