2023 Is The Year of "Impossible" Games

Valve's Counter-Strike 2 info dump this morning got me thinking about how crazy 2023 is for gaming. Specifically, about how we are seeing so many titles I thought would never happen:

  • A new AAA Harry Potter RPG
  • Valve still can't count to 3, but were getting a new full Counter-Strike game regardless
  • Diablo IV
  • Pikmin 4 (The series could have been dead for all we knew)
  • Hollow Knight 2
  • Hades II (The developers are not know for making sequels so this was a surprise!)
  • A new single-player Bethesda RPG (Starfield)
  • A new Professor Layton game
  • Resident Evil 4 Remake, and they didn't fuck it up
  • Dead Space Remake, and they didn't fuck it up
  • Street Fighter 6, with an actual single-player mode that's worth a damn!
  • Octopath Traveler II
  • An Xbox exclusive that feels like a 2000's Japanese action game (Hi-Fi Rush)
  • Armored Core 6: Holy Shit I Thought It Was Dead
  • AAA Avatar Game (Legends of Pandora)

I know I'm forgetting something, point is this might be the best year for gaming since 2007, and were not done yet!:

What is Nintendo's holiday game going to be?

Will Xbox squeeze out a surprise game in Q4?
What about Sony?
What are you looking forward to, and what did I miss?

I'm going to sound sour but just the fact of having made Isaac talk is a big mistake. He wasn't speaking for a reason.
Other than that you are mostly right and let's hope all those games deliver!
I actually like his conversation with Nicole about how Isaac parents died and he blames her for it.
Octopath Traveler II
You have no idea how happy I was about Octopath getting sequel and currently LOVING the game.

-Baldurs Gate 3, another franchise people thought would never come back
-System Shock remake (if everything goes right)
-Alan Wake 2 (if everything goes right)
-A 3D full blown action-adventure Granblue Fantasy Game.
-A new Final Fantasy that might just not suck
-STALKER 2 after a loooong time.

I think everyone here will be mighty pleased for what is revealed in the upcoming Playstation showcase, whenever that happens (probs before E3)

Im really hoping for an MGS (PSX) Remake announcement from Bluepoint, and maybe an announcement of the release date of DS2, but that'll probably get released in 2024 I bet judging from DEATH STRANDING's development and release timeframe

Other than that...I wouldn't mind seeing some completely original IPs get announced, preferably something story based. I wanna sink my teethies into a real nice story game

Star Citizen completed development.
Beyond Good and Evil 2
GTA VI
Final Fantasy to return to its master piece status?
Starfield with pristine performance and no bugs.

these are the actual "impossible' games.
