360 Games Dominate Famitsu’s 2007 Rankings
By Tom Ivan Print | Send to a friend | Email the editor
BLOG - Xbox 360 titles dominate Japanese mag Famitsu’s best ranked games list of 2007.

Ten 360 games made the top 25 list, followed by five DS and five PS3 titles. Two PS2 and two PSP games also charted, while only Super Mario Galaxy made it for Wii.

So basically Microsoft spent a lot of money on Famitsu reviews
This. Or the guys over at Famitsu are hardcore gamers and therefore out of touch with the Japanese game buying public.

360 had the most great games in 2007 in every other region. Why would japan be any different? They got basically everything we did right?

Not too surprising. Famitsu writers are usually very fair to foreign games. They're professionals, and can see what makes good games good. Nevertheless, those same games have no appeal to most Japanese people.

... are the only 360 exclusive games on the list. "Dominate"!?

Only console I own is a 360, but seriously, who is this trying to fool?

The fact that they scored fucking Oblivion 38 points immediately debunks that idea.

Oblivion was great.

Anyways, surprised to see 12 western developed games on there. I wonder how that stacks up with past years.

You know, the console versions of Oblivion? Where you can't even fix the disastrous gameplay and UI flaws with mods? 30000 sandbox square miles full of shit? Oblivion? Never heard of that game?

:lol :lol :lol Come on, they have some of the worst either outright paid for or "we're just giving this fucking Square game a 9 because our fanbase will buy it either way so we might as well just avoid the bitching" reviews in the industry.

Yeah I don't see it either I qualify a domination to be at least 10 to 1 if it isn't that then its not a domination.

Not really.
Oblivion, Assassin's Creed, GRAW 2 and Rainbow Six Vegas are multiplat as well. Beats my why they aren't listed twice (like Winning Eleven and Call Of Duty 4 are). Actually it'd make sense to have multiplat games listed once with a "multiple" system designation. They didn't actually rate Oblivion/PS3 (which differs by having better image quality, higher framerate and less load-times) four points lower than the XBox 360 version, or did they?

Oblivion (I think) and Assassin's Creed (definitely) for PS3 both came out in 2008, after the 360 versions.

And I don't know what people have against the reviewers at Famitsu. They've always seemed fair to me. Japanese people honestly like all that Square-Enix shit, they have different tastes.

So there are in fact 10 360 games and 9 PS3 games on the list. Yes, the 360 DOMINATES the PS3, no way around it.

Not that I care about any of that shit, but they clearly separate multiplatform titles in two different ones. Or does that not matter?

05. Call of Duty 4 (Xbox 360) - 37
06. Call of Duty 4 (PS3) - 37

Quoted for truth.

Famitsu is only good (for me at least) for his exclusives and reviews, but they have "sort of" acknowledged they sell their punctuations, so i don't trust their rankings the slightest.

Fuck, they rated Halo:Combat Evolved 33/40 and Halo 2 37/40. And i don't think in the meantime they acquired a taste for Western FPS >_<

Pretty much...Fami is a joke with reviews. Oh Square came out with another FF!!! We need to rate it higher. Did you even play the game? A train wreck of a story...Boring characters...etc? Oh but its FF!!!

It feels more like, OMG We love Western Games!!! Lets give them some good scores. Didn't they rate Red Steel 33/40 or something?:lol

I believe that all of the following games, Oblivion, Assassin's Creed, GRAW 2 and Rainbow Six Vegas, were released first on the 360 in Japan.

Does Famitsu review late multi-platform games?

Pretty much. They had a stellar line-up.
